First time visiting Michele's Pies and it won't be the last! The smell when you walk into the place is intoxicating. All of the sweet pies, cookies, etc in the front display case look scrumptious! The manager was so kind and friendly, and such a pleasure to speak with. Excellent customer service. He also pointed out the savory pies in the freezer...savory pies! I so want to try the Austalian meat pie and the Philly cheese steak pie; they both come in the mini size as well. Brilliant! We walked out with 4 mini pies: blueberry, blueberry crumb, apple and a pumpkin, along with some peanut butter and butterball cookies (made with walnuts) and chive and cheddar rolls. The mini pies are really a generous portion. EVERY SINGLE Item was incredibly fresh tasting and mouthwatering, no exaggeration. I love that all is hand made with such care about quality ingredients. We got our dad a blueberry pie for his birthday. The birthday boy and everyone else absolutely loved this pie!!! Every slice was bursting with the most fresh and luscious blueberries! Everyone gushed how sweet and creamy the filling tasted. My husband wants this pie for his birthday in august. No pressure lol! The height on this whole pie was amazing! These wee pies are so precious, and delicious! It's crazy that they're located in a crowded strip mall off a major road with days worth of traffic. (Honestly, I expected more of a giant factory labeled "amazing pies here!") But even though the store front seems small, they have so many types of pies - sweet and savory. The savory ones are frozen quiches, and there are cream pies as well, so if you're coming some distance being ice packs and coolers. They are worth the distance too - the chocolate cream pie was smooth and creamy. The chocolate pecan had that delicious goo pecan pies make. Their size makes them perfect for personal consumption unless you too are plagued with unwanted people asking about sharing. (Just don't tell anyone. When you're in this Foodie Life long enough, you see improbable things. I've wanted to visit Michele's Pies since I saw the yeeeeears ago Bobby Flay TV show "Throwdown" pumpkin pie episode with Michele. I live an hour away though, and I don't often get to Norwalk in pie shop hours. Yesterday, I visited Dilly Duck Shop ("DDS") for my Food Blog because it's the No. 4 restaurant on Yelp's '22 Top 25 Places to Eat in CT List. When I arrived, who unexpectedly was right next door to DDS? Michele's Pies. It was on! The shop is small. There's a medium length cooler case with full size pies, mini pies, cookies, etc. There's also a vertical freezer with chicken pot pies, Australian beef pies, quiche, etc. If you don't know, Michele's Pies is also one of the more prominent CT businesses represented by the gourmet food mail delivery business Goldbelly. We ordered multiple mini pies, instead of one large pie, so we could try more. I've now tried Michele's Key Lime, Butterscotch Pecan and Boston Cream pies. The key lime pie has the denser type custard I prefer and an awesome sweet tart flavor. I can't remember having a better key lime portion of a pie. I prefer a graham cracker crust to the standard pie crust Michele's used, but the crust was well very executed. The pecan pie seemed to have the same crust. What is not the same, however, was the butterscotch component of the pecan pie. I've never seen that anywhere. It was delicious. I loved the dense texture too. The Boston Cream Pie was my son's choice, but I had a good taste. It was right on. Super tasty. Great comfort food. Loved the flavor of the mini chocolate chips. I almost never read reviews before I write mine to avoid inadvertently repeating people, but I saw the 4 Star Yelp rating for Michele's. 4 stars? Y'all have some hard graders in the Greater Norwalk area! I suspect some of the reviews reflect Goldbelly orders, which carry a premium price and perhaps higher customer expectations. In any event, Michele's Pie's is 5 Stars for me. They are now my co-favorite CT Pie business. read more

I've had Michele's apple pie a couple of times. The first two pies were wonderful, not too sweet and the apples had a bit of a crunch. I just tried another apple pie recently and was disappointed. The pie had good flavoring but the apples were soft with no crunch. My friend tried an apple pie too and had the same experience after I had told him that it was the best pie I ever had with some crunch to the apples. At $65 a pie, it was a letdown. I have to say, Michele's Pies are EXCELLENT! Last week, I remembered Michele's Pies just as I was getting ready to visit friends in Vermont and trying to figure out what to bring them. There are so many great choices! The gentleman that waited on me was friendly and helpful. I was lucky to arrive at a time that wasn't too busy and I could ask lots of questions. I bought a frozen Quiche Loraine that was perfect for a next day breakfast. I think this is possibly the best Quiche I have tasted ( even better than my boyfriend's homemade). Everyone raved about the flakey buttery crust, the great tasting and ample ingredients and the freshness! I also bought 3 small pies: Coconut Cream, Country Apple and Blueberry. All the dessert pies were excellent. The coconut cream didn't even make it to Vermont because we couldn't resist eating it at home. The apple and blueberry pies were fully enjoyed in Vermont! This is such a cute Pie Store. Stopped in on a whim since I was in the area. Looked nice on the outside and smelled so good when you entered the store. There were so many items ti choose from. I ended up picking a mango pie a chocolate peanut butter pie and a caramel pecan pie. They were all absolutely delicious. And I got the minis instead of the full-size pies so that I could try them at home with my friends. I was only able to take a few bites of each but definitely worth it. They also have coffee here in case you wanna cuppa coffee to go along with your pie. The thing is I think that they could improve upon is having plastic forks to go with the pies for those that want to eat their pie there. Other than that absolutely great experience. Chocolate bourbon pecan pie was my favorite pie. It is rich and chocolatey. Banana bread was my second favorite. First ingredient in the bread was banana, which is perfect. It was very small though. Pumpkin pie was also good. It had a cheese cake texture. Items were slightly pricey, but good. Good to see that they take a lot of precaution for Covid. Mostly you need to order online. Oh my goodness! Traveling through from Pennsylvania, we drove past this little shop. Had the Phillie cheesesteak pie for dinner that night and the apple-cranberry crumb pie for dessert. We were absolutely delighted. The crusts - perfect. The meat pie rivaled Jim's Phillie Cheesesteaks on South Street in Philadelphia. We got the Apple and pumpkin pie and they were seriously some of the best pies I've ever had! Not to sweet, just the right amount of pastry. Michele is the real deal! So I heard about this place from a friend who read the article in People Magazine that named Micheles Pies Best in CT. Of course I had to go check it out . I ordered a few small pies ( apple caramel crumb, pumpkin, banana cream and key lime.) They were all Fabulous!! I shared them with friends at work and everyone enjoyed them. The store also has other sweets like cookies, muffins, tea breads, crumb cake and also savory pies (chicken pot pie and quiches) , still have to try these. I am definitely a fan of Michele's. I walked in here for the first time with some co-workers and we got a Chocolate Pecan Bourbon to bring back to the office. It was delicious, an awesome spin on a regular pecan pie. Though it's HEAVY. I couldn't eat more than a few bites. That didn't stop me from coming back a few hours later to get a small one to take home. The one that caught my eye the most was the Apple Caramel Crumb. And rightfully so, OMG. It was incredible. It was actually pretty light compared to the previous one and the apples were super fresh. I don't know what's in that caramel but I need more of it. My fiancé and I thought we could make it last the whole weekend but it was gone in half that time. I love that they have the small sizes; it's perfect for two people and you can try many more that way! The pies are certainly expensive, but I really feel that it's worth it. I've wanted to try this place for the longest time. I finally did today. My first choice was the chocolate cream pie, but I didn't see any in the case. I asked about the flavors I did see, which led me to candyland. It was pretty good. The chocolate in it was a little plain, so I wonder if I would've like the chocolate cream pie at all. I am a huge fan of Michele's Pies and although I do not live in the area I visit every time I'm in the Norwalk area or have someone bring me some delicious Northeast goodies when they are in town. This Thanksgiving I was able to order a Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie thanks to the website Goldbely.com. It was a dream come true to have Michele's Pies delivered to my house. I am not a big fan of pecan pie generally, but when you add chocolate (who doesn't like chocolate?!?) and a hint of liquor to a dessert I'm all in! My family members also agreed as this pie was the first to disappear in its entirety from the dessert table. Warm up the pie and there is no way you can say no to a piece of crunchy nuts, oozing chocolate and fresh tasting crust and filling. O-M-G! Let me start by saying that Michele of Michele's Pies, and her entire staff are as nice as the pies are delicious! We got linked up with Michele's Pies though the chairman of a local festival called Chowdafest (in Westport) and Michele (who also sponsored the event) went out of her way to make my fiance and I a special 3-tiered wedding pie out of Apple Crumb, Pecan, and Pumpkin Pie for the event. Let me say---these pies are as delicious as they look, and more than people say. We stopped in before the event to meet Michele and her staff. The story of Michele's Pies is actually quite interesting, and finely detailed in her cookbook (available in the store, more on that later). But the store itself is exactly what you want from a hometown pie eatery. The store specializes in pie, but they have a multitude of cookies that are also equally fantastic. When we stopped in, we ordered chocolate chocolate chip, chocolate chip, the crescent cookies, the ginger cookie, and a thumbprint cookie. Each one was better than the next. My fiance and I took turns biting into each (not all at once!) and we felt that the cookies were stellar--not too sweet, not to salty, and they tasted great. Sometimes cookies taste processed but these just tasted fresh. I recommend that you try them if you're in town. Okay, about the cookbook. I wanted something tangible that lasted more than a cookie to mark the weekend, and getting to meet these folks. Michele has such a cool story about following her dreams starting with baking with her grandmother, to opening her pie business in farmers markets in Vermont, to landing a cool spot on Food Network opposite of Bobby Flay in Beat Bobby Flay. He must have had a really on day because we tasted the pie she spoke of and it's outstanding. The cookbook feels really approachable, the directions are written well in the recipes, and I plan on trying some of the recipes on my own, completely comforted by the fact that they real deal pie aficionado is just a short train ride or so away. To pie: Michele kindly let us keep a more than generous share of the 3-tiered wedding pie from Chowdafest, and like true gluttons, we had to try all of them. The pecan pie is out of this world. The pecans are chopped, not whole, which I think makes for a fantastic and balanced crunch when you eat it. The filling is sticky, not not too sweet, so you strike the perfect balance of crust, pie filling, and topping--so so good. The pumpkin pie: I am going to be honest. I don't like pumpkin pie--or at least I didn't until I tried this pie. Michele's team does not use canned--we came in on the day they were hand scraping the pumpkin pulp--saw it with my own eyes. Wow. This pie is delightful (again, I am not even a fan of pumpkin). I don't know why it's so good but I suspect again, that it's because it's balanced. It doesn't feel to thick, the crust is perfect perfect perfect (yes, 3 perfects), and the seasonings are just right. I don't know what it is but I really liked it. Lastly, they deliver. This is a blessing because Thanksgiving is coming up and the world needs these pies. They ship the heartier pies (not the fruit of the custard because I think they just wouldn't hold up well) but you can still experience the perfection of these desserts because they do ship some varieties. We plan to make a road trip through Norwalk on our way up to MA for the holidays. In short--try these for yourself, both the pies and the cookies. You won't be sorry! read more

I take back everything I said - while the prices are high, there's just no better pie around. I picked up a 9" apple-caramel crumb pie for a family dinner and it was, as always such a huge hit. Beyond the fruit pies, I'm absolutely smitten with the banana cream pie and picked up one of their mini-versions. At $8 it's expensive (it's the equivalent of one hearty slice) but so well worth it. I rarely go anymore as every single time I want my favorite pie - chocolate chip walnut - they don't have it. At either location / Norwalk nor Westport.
