I came here this past Wednesday, after doing a bakery crawl. I casually mentioned to the lady behind the counter that it's my first time at Wave Hill, and she went out of her way to explain more about the bakery, the items, & was incredibly friendly to my group. I truly love and appreciate exceptional customer service. And this bakery exceeded in hospitality! Coming to the multi-grain bread we purchased, was super tasty & thoroughly enjoyed for breakfast. The croissant was super flaky. I also enjoyed some of the other sweet items. The lady was kind enough to throw in some free items too! I would recommend this place for your local fresh bread bakery (huge selection from sourdoughs to multigrain) & for the friendliest of staff (trust me some of the southern ct bakeries lack this)!!! read more

We stop by the Westport farmers market to get some bread from them and each time we are never disappointed.

They make great bread and pastry! Fresh, delicious and even a simple coffee to go was excellent. Very clean storefront and helpful staff, even when the line gets long it moves reasonably well. Seasonal note: their pannetone was moist and had the perfect amount of raisins... really enjoyable, like quality ones from Italy and not the dried out, doorstop types so commonly found in the US. Several of Wave Hill's more popular breads can usually be found in many local supermarkets in the Norwalk, CT area and the general region. These products are locally made, of high quality ingredients and prep and definitely worth purchasing. read more

Tried Wave Hill for the first time and kinda went overboard but we LOVED it!! Farouk's Favorite - the focaccia itself was incredible; the rest okay, needed balsamic but, to be fair, we opted for fresh basil instead basil pesto vinaigrette so our bad. Ratatouille Riff - DElicious!!! Côte d'Azur (Nicoise) really rich and exotic but wouldn't get again. Topi's Favorite pizza - omg omg. Also got the Limocello croissant (perfection), the chocolate cookie, moist and super chocolatey, and the Opera cake. Everything is made with super high quality ingredients. Love their food and bread. Horrible location, nightmare parking, not well enough staffed, I waited over 30 minutes for a to go sandwich and then when back on the road realized it was the wrong order. I will go back, but hope they get some better management on site. read more

Excellent spot for a variety of things - morning coffee, lunch order, pastries for a party, frozen pizza for dinner, etc. You can't get fresher food. I'm happy Wave Hill opened this spot on Westport Ave because this side of town really needed something like this - a place to get GOOD coffee where you can actually sit down and have a conversation with someone. The parking situation could be tough and some things are just a tad higher price point than I'd like. read more

Love this place. Their breakfast sandwiches are fantastic. I always grab a Demi baguette and Boston creme croissant (if they aren't sold out!) also. You can order ahead of time from a toast tab link on the website for menu items, which is convenient. Only downside is the parking lot is a crowded, tight mess. read more

Totally thought that we were lost from street view. The entrance is so unassuming. Very limited space with a freezer containing their pizzas/cookie dough to your right, the register with some pastries directly ahead, and then bread to your left. It smells heavenly when you first walk in. Monkey bread was awesome. It was like little croissant balls dancing in sugar and cinnamon. The white bread was okay. Leaves me wondering what the hype is about. It was about 20 bucks for a loaf of bread and 2 monkey breads. While a little pricey, I will probably come back to try their other options. The food all looks beautiful. It's in a very convenient location. Once you actually try the food it's underwhelming. I've been there a few times now and it's nothing to get excited about. I found the carrot cake very dry and it crumbled easily. None of the sandwiches are that great, they're just OK. I've tried the cook at home items. I've tried several different baked goods. Everything is just OK. I go from time to time just because of its proximity to my home, but it's not something I would go out of my way to get to. read more

Note to self: must be pre-order but I was still able to snag a loaf of buttermilk bread (that I used to French toast - it fell apart but I made it work and it was fabulous) and some this crazy tasty cinnamon sugar monkey bread. Bakery that supplies a bunch of grocery stores. The actual retail space is very small, and is comprised of a few baked goods and a solid selection of bread. There is no seating I tried one of their baked goods and a baguette. Bread is a personal thing. Coming from different areas, different people have an idea on what makes the perfect loaf of bread. Some prefer soft and pillowy, some prefer seeded and nutty, and others want exciting flavors and adventurous mix ins. Regardless of which camp you identify with, Wave Hill will have something you will love. We found Wave Hill at the Chester Farmers Market in CT and bought a quarter of a loaf of their gigantic fermented sourdough wholegrain miche. The problem was that we didn't taste it until we were well more than halfway home, and then we regretted not buying a whole loaf. As soon as we could, we returned to the market and bought a whole loaf, the size of a large pizza or huge steering wheel. We went through it so fast, we wished we had bought more. After that, we researched where we could buy it closer to RI and found that Bishop's Orchard market in Guilford gets weekly deliveries, so that is where we send our orders. We make the almost two hour drive and order two or three huge loaves, and hack them down and put them in the freezer for whenever the need arises. The business makes only delicious things, but I have to say that the huge miche is the best thing they make. Their small and personal attention to their product is obvious in their delicious breads and baked goods. The only downside is how much work we have to put into getting their product! Prices are super reasonable for the high quality and delicious taste of their products, which can be found at many farmers markets in the NY/CT area. I'd love to visit their store at some point and discover what else of their items I've been missing out on, but until then, I'm very satisfied with "magic bread" which is what we've been calling their amazing loaves of pure deliciousness. read more

Really nice bread but we've now bought two loaves that have gone moldy within 2-3 days of purchase; this may have more to do with merchandising at the retailer as who knows how long the loaves were on the shelf. It's a pain to drive five miles or more, find a Manager and then complain about a moldy loaf so we just throw them out. What it means, however, is that we'll just stop buying from this company. Their web site does not have a customer service section, so it appears that they don't really want to hear from disappointed customers read more

I have been a loyal customer of wave hill bread for six years since I started my successful battle with cancer. I was trying to avoid gluten, but I also learned that artisan sourdough bread is fermented long enough that the gluten is more healthy and changed by the fermentation. My daughter, who is gluten intolerant, can eat Wave Hill sourdough bread without a problem. They use the finest ingredients and their fermenting process is way above the norm. Picked up some pastries for mothers day this morning. We grabbed the vanilla scone, croissant, and monkey bread. All of them were dynamite. Flaky, sweet, buttery without being too heavy. The scone is pretty decadent, not at all like a traditional scone, but delicious none-the-less. They had a bunch of pre-wrapped fresh bread that looked amazing as well! read more

Tiny retail space as the main purpose is supplying to good area restaurants and shops but don't let that deter you. It always smells amaze in here ;) Oh! But the bread! Excellent artesian quality with a solid rotating variety of types and favors. The challah is soft & superb. Ciabatta is excellent as are their rolls & rustic sliced bread. The grandma's style cold pizza bread is nice too as is the olive focaccia style w sun dried tomatoes, Kalamata, green & black olives. Fresh, crusty, satisfying & hearty breads. It is a very unique bakery - you walk in and it is like you are in the baking grounds itself. There are no fancy glass showcases to display the bread. Everything is out in the open - from loaves to croissants to their specially baked desserts for the day. The smell when you enter takes over and suddenly you want one of everything (that is, if you didn't walk in with that mentality already). The best part is that their breads freeze very well. Bring your loaf home, slice it to your liking, freeze, plop it in the toaster. Voila. Fresh as it was the first day! I don't remember which breads I've tried specifically but they've all been enjoyable. My favorite thing to do is to either dip it in olive oil or dip it in leftover pasta sauce. Yum yum! The only not bread item I've tried is their croissants. I got home and put it in the toaster to warm up. It was so flaky and delicious. Never buying grocery store croissants again!! read more

I love unassuming places like this bakery. Feels like it's in the middle of a residential area, very non-commercial feel. You walk in and it's like you walked straight into the back of the bakery. Right in front of you are bowls of dough resting, getting ready to be baked. Very friendly staff who just love sharing their love for bread. I went with a like minded friend and between the two of us we tried the baguettes, multigrain bread, pumpernickel rye and focaccia as well as a bunch of the pastries (both the sweet and savory monkey bread, almond croissant, blueberry muffin). My favorite by far was the pumpernickel, the spongy chewy texture was everything I ever want in fresh bread. The most amazing staff ever--and some fantastic bread and pastries too! Yesterday, after a doctors appointment, we decided to get some bread from Wave Hill. It's been on my list for a while and we never had time to stop by. Well, this time we did and our car broke down after buying some delicious breads and baked goods. After getting a ride him from a friend and coming back later to deal with the car (which was parked right outside the bakery), we were so surprised by the kindness shown by the staff at Wave Hill, specifically the manager/owner who came out with some amazing monkey bread and bottles of water as we decided what to do with the car. He even called a local mechanic he knew so we were able to bring it into the shop that same day, just an hour later. We feel eternally grateful for having the car breakdown in front of Wave Hill haha. Go for the amazing breads and baked goods, and the fantastic staff! and THANK YOU AGAIN! read more

What? No Yelp love for Wave Hill yet?? very hard to believe.. They make some seriously good bread - i think the sterns called it "the best bread in america" and its available at some local farmers markets if you can't make it to their little store on route 7 in Wilton. I tried a few times to get to their bakery and they had some pretty odd hours, 9 to noon every day except tuesday when they are closed. They are located in back of a building so it's easy to miss from the road (look for the "free bread samples" sign) .. If you are nearby and are of the bread-loving kind, it's most definitely worth the trip .. if they are at a local farmers market near you and you see them - give it a try, i know you will like what they make. I believe all the breads they make are the same dough, all very good. perfect mix of chewy and crunchy, nice outer crust surrounding the wholesome breadyness. read more
