COBS Bread in Stamford was recommended by my sis & I'm so glad she did. As an added bonus, I joined the rewards program & received a free loaf of bread which was a gr8 perk & made the visit even better. The shop itself is rather small but it is clean, inviting, & filled w/ the amazing aroma of freshly baked bread. For my free loaf I chose the Apricot Delight (sliced thin), which was packed w/ apricots, raisins, & currants. What impressed me most was that Nicole(staff who took care of me) told me the bread has more fruit than bread & no added sugar or preservatives. The fruit was plentiful in every slice, & since there's no added sugar, the natural sweetness really shined through. It was incredibly fresh, flavorful, & absolutely delish! I also tried the Hot Honey Pepperoni Mini Pizza , which was tasty w/ plenty of flavor. The only complaint I have is that it couldn't be warmed up. I think it would have been better hot!To finish things off, I tasted a cinnamon roll that was soft, ooey, gooey, everything a good cinnamon roll should be(except it would have been better hot as well). Overall, I was very impressed w/ the quality of the homemade baked goods & the freshness(they bake everything daily)of everything I tried. The staff was friendly, the rewards program was a nice bonus, & I even earned points through the Cobs app for future visits. I'll def be back to try more of their breads, baked goods, & pastries! If you're looking for fresh, high quality baked goods in Stamford, COBS Bread is well worth a visit! You're welcome! read more

Came again after the BCC walk. Cass took the time out to tell me the history of Cobs. Download the app and get a free loaf of bread. I bought a cinnamon roll (my fav) and a pepperoni cheese bread. Had a nice hint of orégano and was crispy on the edges. They do not warm it up for you but can easily be eaten as is. I also chose a apricot bread for free. Will make stopping by here after the walk a tradition. These are do gooders, and I don't mind supporting. read more

Bread is fantastic. Smell always has me leaving with more than I need. However the nicest part is how friendly and bubbly the staff is, one woman in particular. It's just a pleasure to shop there read more

This was my first time walking into cobs bread. And since it was we got a free pastrie each. I tried the berry and white chocolate scone. My girlfriend grabbed the blueberry lemon scone. Both were soft fresh and delicious. We also got a loaf of olive oil bread. It was ok just biting into it. But would love to have that with some fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and olive oil drizzle. I tried the apple danish too. Super soft and had perfect sweetness. I would come back here. Especially since the service was really nice and helpful on the kinds of breads and pastries they have. read more

Love their breads, especially the olive bread which is only available on weekends. Service always wonderful and they usually have tastes on the counter so you can try new products. Clean bright store. read more

Everything I have tried here is amazing and so fresh. The Challah is my favorite of anywhere. Scones are also amazing. I would love if they would branch out though, and add more bakery/dessert items. For what it is, though, BREAD, I highly recommend. read more

Don't drop anything in the store. They won't replace it. They will make you rebuy it. If you aren't even out of the store yet they should replace it especially when they have samples everywhere and give out buns to children. Had to spend an additional 10 dollars and this was with the owner there. Oh well might just stick to buying bread and leave it at that. read more

On a whim we stopped and purchased chocolate croissant and a raspberry lemon pastry. We also purchased the raisin challah, ALL of which were delicious and I will definitely be back!! read more

The smell of baked bread carried myself and my kiddos into this establishment. The staff were helpful and friendly. The store ordered the spinach and feta croissant, it was really tasty. I also purchased high fibre bread loaf and now wish that I got more than one. Because my kids both loved it and need it lol. We will definitely be back to try other goodies. read more

I was sitting in Parkway Diner looking across the street and COBS caught my eye. I thought they were named after Cos Cob but apparently they are a chain. An international chain with only one US location, right here in Stamford. Okay, then, COBS we go! I had my eye on a bread loaf for some carbs. But I wasn't sure if I wanted their Cape Seed bread. 9 types of seeds but not clear if you get the nice big seeds throughout the dough that I like. I asked about it and they simply took an entire loaf and sliced it, then handed out samples to my entire group. And then just packaged the bread and handed it over and said "this is on us". Yes, it's later in the day. Maybe you could tell I wasn't really sold on the bread. But my. goodness. how friendly and helpful and customer-oriented these people are! Oh, and they donate unbought food at the end of the day to a local food pantry. With all this, I decided to buy a couple of scones and leave an extra-generous tip for the bread. Let me tell you, the triple chocolate scone is tasty, unexpected icing and unique flavor throughout, but the lemon blueberry? Oh. My. Gosh. Divine. SOOOOO much blueberry flavour (since they're international and giving out scones, I will spell it their way) in every bite. So glad I brought these scones home and now I'm looking at the bag as I type this, preparing to lick the blueberry remnants from the wrapper. Sounds like 5 stars to me. read more

Bagels are not good. They lack flavor and texture is all wrong. Other things are fine but I have found the quality and size to be very inconsistent. Sometimes the ham and cheese buns are sparsely topped and puffy and sometimes they are flat with moderate topping. Scones are drier than they should be and sometimes the loaf breads are saltier than other times. Quality control needs to be better for consistency. The workers are always very nice but sometimes they will overcharge you or undercharge you depending on who is working. read more

Disclaimer-I love bakeries, especially nut free ones. Places who try to accommodate allergies are always on my radar but Cobs is over an hour away. I was heading to NYC and decided to pick up a few treats and I'm so thankful I did! First, the employee who helped me was so friendly! He confirmed that they are still nut free and told me that at the end of every day they donate the leftovers to local nonprofits (I love that)! I could smell cinnamon from the moment I got out of my car and was torn between the roll and scone but landed on the scone as I stopped by here a couple years ago and had the roll. I also chose a lemon blueberry scone which I was told is a really popular choice and a chocolate croissant. Who knew happiness could come in a little paper bag? I didn't but rest assured I will remember that for the future. Every bite of all three items was fresh, tasty and perfect. Absolutely no room for improvement which is a rare five star from me! My only wish is they would open one further up towards midstate but hopefully one day! If you are in the area or will be traveling through don't hesitate to stop here for a treat, you won't regret it! Im already craving another lemon blueberry scone and planning my next trip down there! read more

Everything's delicious here and made overnight, while we sleep! It's the American branch of a major Aussie franchise, and every piece of fluffy bread is made without preservatives and baked from 10pm the night before onward. The lemon blueberry scone is so wildly fresh and good, as is the airy challah, seeded bread. I ate two slices in the car alone. The cinnamon scone is also great, like a less messy crumb cake. Would come back for the lemon blueberry, challah, and want to try their sourdough, baked over several days. 5 stars!!!! read more

Passing through Stamford, we were curious to try some bread and pastries from COBS Bread, which is a Canadian-based bakery with only 2 locations in CT. The smell of the baked goods was noticeable right away and made us so excited to pick out what we wanted! My fiancé and I let several people go ahead of us in line as we were still trying to decide what to order, and while we were deliberating the manager brought us over a white chocolate blueberry scone to enjoy complimentary. It was such a nice gesture and not one that you see too often! Our favorites that we picked up here were the sourdough cob and sea salt and black pepper Turkish bread. The pastries were good too, but I did think my chocolate raspberry croissant was missing the raspberry flavor completely. The store is on the smaller side, so there is zero seating inside and no tables in front of the store outside either. No preservatives are used here, and I was happy to learn that whatever they don't sell at the end of the night is donated to local charities. read more

Everyone I speak to is pleased with Cobs Bread. I am too fussy perhaps. I prefer bakery bread that is made from scratch. Cobs could be so much better but it's good in a pinch. read more

I came into cobs yesterday and it was something I never seen before they had about 8 people in line and only one worker even though it was busy I was still greeted and offered to try samples while I wait, what shocked me was Tom was taking 2 customers at a time he was moving so fast and efficient not rushing anyone but taking his time with his customers when it was finally my turn I was the last customer in line he asked me did I get a chance to try our samples I told him yes I did thank you I ordered my bread and got it sliced and I asked about the cruffins he explained them to me and I took his word for it so I wanted to just buy 1 or each flavor but he talked me into getting a 4 pack and I tell you after eating one I'm happy I got the 4 pack I just want to say every time I come into Cobs toms energy is always great and he serves every customer with a smile and is always patient never rushes you some other employees at cobs rush you or give you attitude, all I can say is as long as Tom is at Cobs me and my family will always come back thank you cobs for having a great employee who cares about his customers who walked into the bakery, this is the best bakery in Stamford! read more

Good quality and easy to buy. Great price and service. Location is great and a lot of parking.

Love Cobs Bread many offerings! From their challah to their sandwich breads to their cinnamon rolls to their pizza bases - all are excellent! Their sandwich bread is not the wimpy white Wonder Bread that is mass produced, it's bread to make a sandwich that can hold its own with flavor and heft. Their pizza based are a great way to make something other than a margerita pizza, though it's good for that too. I made a white shrimp pizza with fresh garlic, some salt pepper and Parmesan on with medium shrimp with some of the shrimp stock drizzled over it and it was excellent. The pizza bases are mostly cooked and are studded with herbs and make a truly flavorful base for any kind of pizza you can devise. Cobs Bread also gives to the community. They regularly donate product to the P2P food pantry in Norwalk. It's appreciated and goes to people who can use it. read more

Impressive to be sure. Not to be missed if your just rolling my through and should be supported if your local. NON GMO flour from Canada. Dozens of choices baked fresh in house every morning. Well presented, immaculate cases, bread racks displaying all the beautiful baked goodness. The staff is helpful and well versed on each bread's style, flavor, texture etc. Excellent scones. Decent croissants. Loved the Turkish "flat" bread w sea salt & black pepper, toasting white, and pizza ready bread. Rather inexpensive for the quality & flavor of the final product. A star of a bakery in a sea of Fairfield County mediocrity. read more

The best bread in Fairfield County for sure! Great selection, crusty outside soft inside.

First time going and it was totally on a whim after a stressful two days of Adulting: The Logistical Nightmare. The smell when you first walk in is divine. Not sweet, just bready goodness. There are a lot of options. Both in the display cases and the racks behind the employees. I definitely bought too much, but also got hit with a bad case of indecision. Cinnamon scone was crunchy in that stale sort of way. Don't think I would get that again, as it feels like it's trying to be a cinnamon bun. Cinnamon buns (minis), holy frosting batman. The globs of cream cheese frosting were generous. The buns themselves were a bit dry and stale, even after nuking in the microwave. I'm not sure if I'd get them again tbh, not worth the price or calories. Now, the pull apart cheese bread? I would eat my weight in this if given the opportunity. It's the perfect loaf. Cheese all crispy on the top. Soft, chewy bread on the inside, and filled with cheese, garlic, and herbs. It looks like it would be a dense loaf, but it's really not. Airy and delicious. My dad had the ham and cheese croissant and he was happy. The croissants in general looked really buttery and flakey, and they were huge. I have buyers regret. I should have tried the spinach and feta! Verdict is the sweets will probably be things I avoid, but the bread.... that's going to get me coming back as a repeat customer. read more

I just went to Cobb bread with my daughter to get a loaf of bread. It was 5:02 on Labor Day and apparently they closed at 5. Rather than just letting me know they were closed they made a slashing throat signal at me and my 10 year old daughter through the window. It was extremely disturbing. I called them at 5:05 as I got back in my car and asked when they closed and they responded 5. I said I didn't appreciate the lack of customer service. As I drove away I saw them laughing about the conversation I had just had with them. They shouldn't be in customer service as they have none. read more

Delicious fresh baked goods. The baguettes are great and the scones are perfect. They have a nice selection of seasonal baked goods too.

Stopped in this morning for a Lemon Blueberry scone. Delicious. It was only $1.90. It was softer than the traditional scones I'm used to, so it was a nice change. Friendly service, clean location. The smell of the bread baking lures you in here on that alone. read more

We stopped here for some fresh baked morning pastries to go with the espresso drinks we were picking up at a nearby favorite coffee stop. Much better than the pastry offerings there. Cobs smells so wonderful as soon as you step in. Such fresh choices. I got a scone that was packed with cinnamon and flaky soft. My companions' choices all looked good too and they both thoroughly enjoyed them. If I lived here, like our host, I too would but many of the other offerings here. There was an array of flavors and styles of full loaves, some still warm, in addition to the smaller items. I saw several muffins I would love to try too. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is easy in this shopping center and easy to access to and from High Ridge Rd. read more

If you haven't taken a trip down to Cobbs Bread you seriously need to stop whatever you're doing and drive there immediately. The bread here is INSANE. I can't believe I'm saying this about bread! It's how bread should be-- slightly crusty on the outside and soft and chewy but not heavy on the inside. I've tried the white (so soft and amazing), high fiber white (can't even tell its high fiber kids will eat it), the sunflower loaf (to die for) and most recently one that has poppy seeds. Makes for delicious toast and amazing sandwiches. Reminds me of Asian-style bakeries. The scones and other bakery items are good too, but I try to not get them too often because I'm too busy eating bread... They bake daily and donate at the end of the night. Love their products. So disappointed. I frequent cobs often to buy bread for my family and as gifts for teachers etc. I buy cheese buns there as I am a vegetarian and this morning I found ham all over the the bottom sides of the cheese buns. Where would I be without indulging in Cobs freshly baked amazing bread! Possibly a bit lighter I imagine but during the pandemic with food deliveries tough to come by, I made a couple of trips up to Cobs to picks out several loaves of bread to stock up.
