The ambiance is so sweet! Very Instagram worthy. The service was good, it was only one person and luckily no one else was there but I imagine if it was busy then it might be a struggle. We ordered mochi donuts and a cake. I only had the mochi donut with churro flavor and it was yummy. Nicely cooked and perfect amount of flavor. My friend got a coffee and she said it was really good. Overall nice spot to stop for a quick sweet treat prices were about $5-$10 for each item so pretty typical for the area. read more

The minute I saw a Japanese dessert shop open downtown, I knew I had to check it out. Foremost, I love that they're open pretty late for Stamford (M-R 9pm F&S 11pm and Sun 10pm) which means I have an option now for late night sweets, fruit tea or bubble tea! Got an original Mille crepe cake and it was great - light fluffy layers of cream and thin crepe. Not overly sweet but just right. They also have bubble waffles for dessert as well but we wanted something lighter. I also got a passionfruit black tea half sugar half ice. I don't normally get fruit teas over milk tea but they were handing out samples of it as we walked in and it was so refreshing that I had to have more. Definitely a great summertime tea. The only confusing thing about the visit is the layout of the store. The store is mostly a wraparound counter where the workers are behind and there's a large kitchen island behind that counter. For such a large space I would think there would be more seating - especially as a dessert/tea shop - only saw 3 small tables at the front. They only just opened but everything I tried was delicious and service was friendly. I look forward to returning to try more of their menu and I'm interested to see if they will expand it! read more

A cute little place in Stamford, Connecticut that serves the most delicious desserts. We ordered chocolate cream cake, vanilla cream cake and an almond cake with coffee. What I really liked about these cakes is that they are not too sweet and sugary. These cakes tasted so good with the coffee and the cappuccino that we ordered. It wasn't very crowded when we got there. We enjoyed our desserts. I will give it 5/5 for the food, service and the lovely ambiance!! read more

The place is a feast for the eyes and sense. Beautiful colourful deserts in a minimalist, smooth, sleek, while, clean space with fun space to sit and eat in. The service staff are kind, nice, friendly, with good quality service. First, the drinks are delicious! I love the bubble tea - whichever you get it will taste yummy and packed with flavor. The mango juice is so refreshing. The waffle was addicting! Every fluffy bite was happiness and relaxation with chocolate and fruits. I'd love to come back again, but not too often -- because the prices are very expensive, even for Bedford Street downtown Stamford. The place is open at late hours too while others around it close or wind down, so I appreciate that too. read more

The original Mille crepe was not sweet at all and I am someone who likes desserts which aren't that sweet. This was just bland, as if I were eating spoonfuls of tasteless cream. It also appears that they donot include the fruit and syrup when you do a takeout - something to note because I think in this it would have really helped. I will not be ordering again. read more

Arbitrage: buying goods and selling them at a higher price. The crepe cakes, mochi donuts and other Asian baked goods sold her seem to be sourced from stores in Flushing and NYC and sold at a markup. During a recent visit, I witnessed the mochi donuts being brought in and unboxed from Mochi Mochi Donut in NYC. The donuts are sold at a $1 markup per donut. The crepe cakes are purchased whole and sliced equating to a $1-2 markup per slice. You can find similar crepe cakes at HMart in Hartsdale, NY. The store should focus on making more items in-house than buying them, unboxing and shoving them into the cases. read more

I got a matcha crepe cake, mango crepe cake and passion fruit bubble tea. The bubble tea was very sweet and I would definitely get it again. However, the matcha crepe cake was not as great as I expected. The taste of butter was too strong and more of just cream rather than matcha. A bit disappointed about that. I had crepe cakes before, and I quite like them. So when I saw macha crepe cake at Shiro, I got excited, stopped by and got a slice to go. It cost almost $10 (which I think is quite steep for a slice), but so be it. I couldn't wait to get home to try my new treat with a cup of tea and to unwind after a busy day at work. Super disappointing. The chocolate cake and tiramisu were very expensive and very "meh." It was surprising that they would charge so much for something that mediocre. You'd expect something special. The tiramisu didn't taste remotely authentic, Costco has a better frozen one. This place is the biggest mistake we've made on our vacation so far. The jasmine milk tea was good, not great. We went here right when they first opened. Me and my fiancé couldn't help ourselves and ordered 4 different desserts to try, as well as a drink for me. I loved how you can pick the sweetness level of the drink - it was delicious! And all of the desserts were amazing. Our favorite was the matcha crepe cake. They also have seasonal/rotating flavor goodies so you need to keep stopping by to try their wonderful limited time desserts. I'm usually an old-school Italian bakery kinda girl, but Shiro is my new favorite place for desserts. read more
