My favorite local coffee shop, always my go to. The staff is so sweet and they have the best chai in town!

I stopped by Lorca Café hoping to find a great cup of coffee, and it delivered on that front. Just be prepared for paid street parking, which can be a bit challenging depending on the time of day. Inside, the café is clean, inviting, and has a warm atmosphere that's perfect for grabbing a coffee or catching up with a friend. I ordered a large cold brew with vanilla syrup, and it was easily the highlight of my visit. Smooth, refreshing, and nicely balanced without being overly sweet. I would absolutely order it again. For food, I tried the Breakfast Burrito, although it's really closer to a Crunchwrap than a traditional burrito. It comes with scrambled eggs, bacon, peppers and onions, cheddar cheese, avocado mash, tater tots, and lima crema. On paper, it sounded like a home run. Unfortunately, the execution did not live up to the description. It ended up being extremely greasy, mushy, and surprisingly lacking flavor despite having so many ingredients. I kept expecting each bite to get better, but it never really did. It was one of those dishes that had a lot of potential but just missed the mark. My cold brew and breakfast came to $23.84 with tax, which felt a little expensive for a breakfast wrap and coffee. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the coffee because it was excellent. As for the food, I'd probably try something different next time. If the kitchen can match the quality of the coffee, this place could be a real standout. read more

Cute little coffee shop where I stopped for lunch. I had a hot chai tea and the quiche & side salad. The tea was very good served in a big, comfy cup. The quiche was made single serve, so lots of buttery crust with a creamy, rich filling loaded with ham chunks. The side salad was basic with a good homemade lemon vinaigrette. Perfect lunch! The interior was cozy with lots of people working. They also had outside seating as well. If I am back in area, would definitely stop in again. read more

Screaming crying kicking begging for you to open a Norwalk location. I can't mention Lorca to someone without them saying "it's under new ownership", but I think the new owners have done a good job at sustaining the original quality of the shop. They have some of the best drinks and food items, the atmosphere is great for relaxing or working, and the staff is so nice and helpful. read more

I've been wanting try out Lorca for a while now. Finally had the chance to go and overall it's a great spot grab coffee or a small bite to eat. Seating during peak weekend hours are hard to come by. I came by on a Saturday morning around 11:30 and it was pretty packed. Although the place itself is nice and has a cool vibe, I can't get over $13 avocado toast. It was good, but not worth the steep price. read more

The food was very average but I did enjoy the churros a a lot. The coffee was not very good. Super milky and the large has the same amount of espresso as the small so you're just paying for more milk. The inside is a great work from home spot and is very vibey. The staff was also super friendly and attentive. read more

Waited at the counter for around 10 minutes. There were two people in front of house refilling coffee beans and organizing plates, not acknowledging us. We left after 10 minutes when one of them started mixing the cold brew instead of taking our order. read more

There's a real shortage of good coffee shops around here, but this place is comparable or better than most of the best shops I've been to. I've been coming here maybe 2-3 times a season since they opened about 12 years ago, but sometimes even 2-3 times A DAY. This is one of the few cafes I can confidently say is innovative while staying true to their classics. The churros are still going strong many years later, but then they're also coming out with fresh seasonal flavors all the time. Some of the best flavors of coffees I've had are at this place: jasmine matcha, maple black walnut, a proper not-too-sweet autumn spice, pistachio rose cardamom, tres leches, etc. They were doing a horchata cold brew before anyone in the area, and their alfajores cookies remain tasty as ever. I always get the espresso drinks, but their drip is great too. Food is awesome, but I wish there were more savory vegetarian options at every cafe. Still, at least it's not the same boring breakfast burrito here; the sage and manchego egg and cheese on sourdough is pretty solid. The pastries and desserts always look and taste fantastic too. live in MD but visit my parents in Stamford often, and Lorca is the spot I always find myself going to first. Plus, there's plenty of space ever since they expanded years ago, so you can bring a book and people watch the busiest street in Stamford. The service is fast, courteous, and friendly. The past few times I've gone they've been pretty slammed. They were quick but seemed maybe one person down? If they're hiring, please work here! I know their winter drinks are going to be just as good, and the holiday season gets busy. I think I need to get another autumn spice latte before I hit the Amtrak. read more

Good coffee and egg sandwich. All are on sour dough, so good for gluten sensitive girlies. Very nice ice coffee. Lorchata wasn't for me.

latte was amazing. I ordered a breakfast burrito but I wanted no peppers and was told they're mixed in so I had to eat it without either which definitely made it a bit bland. I wish I had been offered to just have fresh onions added. the wrap was okay, bacon was soggy and I found a piece of egg shell in the wrap. for $24, I was pretty disappointed. read more

Lorca is extra special to my husband and I, so many "firsts" here! I remember when it was a tiny cafe, it's such a beautiful spot right in the heart of downtown Stamford. The drinks are all great, the baked goods are delicious, ESPECIALLY the olive oil cake! Love the art. I love the closeness of the tables because you will undoubtedly want to strike up a conversation with anyone! Love that. read more

I grabbed coffee and pastries from Lorca on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy when I got there. My friend and I waited quite a while for our coffee and the barista (only one) seemed busy and rushed as he was rushing to get all the orders through. My friend and my drinks came out as hot drinks even though we both specifically asked for it iced, causing a longer wait. They ended up remaking my coffee into iced drinks but mine was decaf but they handed us our drinks at the same time without any labels or makings so I don't think they made a decaf drink for me. I didn't bother asking for a new drink as it had been very long of a wait at that point. The coffee was okay, pretty light, slightly acidic. The pastries were okay as well. read more

Good trendy area but that doesn't make the coffee good in itself Pretty fast moving line Place was very upbeat Problem is though I went there for strong coffee $6 for 8oz of their strongest coffee was pretty weak You can get way better coffee at any of those self grinding / brewing machines Don't bother wasting your time in traffic to go to this place not worth it, sadly read more

Cool coffee place with some dope decor and artwork. You can go in and order to go or sit and do some work or hang out. I've tried their energizer drink and it was good, but not for me. I also had their lorchata but I couldn't taste the "horchata" aspect of it (I did add an espresso). Haven't tried their food. Pricing isn't bad for downtown Stamford. read more

Love this local spot with vibrant, eye catching art. My oat milk latte was perfection. They do offer one vegan "chia bite" which was tasty and a pretty classic energy bite. Would have loved to see more vegan pastry options. This would be my go to coffee spot if I'm ever back in Stamford! read more

Highly disappointed with this place. My BFs birthday was today and what an awful start of the day. We wanted to try this place, as we have heard great things about it. We ordered a 20oz iced Lorchata and was shocked when we arrived to see a half filled cup with our name on it sitting on the "pick up table" I asked the barista if this was how the Lorchata came (as it was our first time here) and was utterly shocked when she said yes. I'm no mathematician but how are you going to charge us extra for a large and only give me 1/2 a cup size of the drink?? If this was the proper size (which it's not) why would you put it in a large cup? It looks like someone drank half of it and left the rest for us. It was straight up just cold brew. Nothing added to it, no horchata. We also got the Tres Leches Iced coffee (which was filled to the top correctly) however we weren't a fan. The place does has some charm, however we were highly disappointed, wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

Great coffee and croissants. Very friendly staff and nice place to hang out. Always go there when in the area.

My favorite coffee shop! The vibe inside is so cozy and welcoming. I've never been disappointed by their coffee and food. I work from home so I like taking my work there. The staff is wonderful and friendly. I know they are under new management but happy to see nothing major has been changed. read more

Lorca has a lot going for it. I like the atmosphere. It's trendy. It's cute. It's LGBTQ+ and BIPOC affirming. I was greeted by a friendly cashier. And what's not to love about coffee and churros? Here's where Lorca missed the mark for me. The vanilla chai was a bit too spicy for my taste, which I can forgive because they made it with skim milk as requested and it still had a nice froth. But here's what I simply won't forgive: a medium-sized (which they touted as "large") beverage that cost almost $7.00, and they didn't even call my name when ready. I'm sitting there, they see me, and my cup is waiting down the other end of the counter. How would I have known it was there? Telepathy? Lorca seems to cater to hipster patrons, which might explain (but in no way justifies) their prices and so-so service. I wouldn't not go here again, but I might find another place to enjoy my chai for a better price and experience. read more

Pleasant & hardworking staff. Busy place on the weekends but well worth the wait. Pictured is a large tres leches cold brew along with a large hot latte with almond milk w/their house-made tres leches flavor. Both 10/10. Smaller shop but picture worthy vibe for any coffee junkies. read more

I got jasmine matcha - it was basically milk , didn't have much flavor. Then I got an iced latte - color was pretty light and it's ok. I wouldn't have returned but it was the only option. Not too expensive. Not a bad place but not mind blowing. read more

After an awesome bowl of pho at Mecha, we def needed coffee! Lorca had 600 reviews so i knew this is the right coffee spot. The menu had an interesting coffee choices like Trs Leches latte, Pistachio catdamom rose latte etc but decided to order one thing that first caught my eyes. We ordered Vanilla churro affogato. Everyone here is also super friendly and helped me w the menu. Super bright warm cozy coffee shop. Upon getting the affogato i was a bit disappointed bc i at least expected a full size churro (coffee was almost almost 10 bucks w a tip. I think i should have gotten other latte drinks. It was nonetheless good..churro was a bit hard and not enough sugar. It was nice and hot though. Dont recommend this particular drink but other drink optins looked good as well as the sandwich options. read more

Not my favorite coffee place in Stamford, but it was a decent choice while I lived downtown. Love that you can place your order online, as the line went nearly out the door the first few times I went. Coffee itself isn't bad, but I don't think it's the best. Kind of bitter. Basically, it's pricey for what you get. Shop is cute and open, but always tends to be super busy on the weekends. Can get very loud and is chaotic. I'd say if you don't like crowds, arrive a little later if you place an online order so that you're not stuck standing around waiting. read more

I got the cafe mocha and it was delicious! Usually when I order this at other cafes, it's either too chocolate-y or the espresso tastes burnt. This was the perfect ratio of the both. I didn't taste any of the food but it did look so good. The service was quick and the servers were quite friendly. I do wish they had more seating inside, but what can you do. I am a true coffee lover and I am always on the hunt to find local coffee shops ! In my opinion, they are truly crafted with love and there's always creative flavors to ensure that they stand out from their competitors. The coffee shop 'extremely large, so I would not recommend to dine in with a large crowd, however wifi is available so please make yourself comfortable for a solo dine in. I ended up ordering the tres leches cold brew and it was by far the best coffee i have ever had ! As a self-claimed coffee connoisseur, the flavors blended together perfectly and the coffee was not bitter at all. It truly did remind me of the delectable treat. I was extremely impressed. Upon arriving, we could tell they were busy but it seemed as if they had a good flow. After ordering, our coffee's were out in under 5 mins. I took on sip and the taste seemed off. I waited several mins at the end of the counter before having to get the attention of a barista. She then got the guy who made my coffee and he seemed underwhelming by my questions on how it is made. He then proceeded to pour 1/3 of my coffee down the hand wash sink and top it off with more favor/milk. It honestly just tastes like milk now and still tastes terrible. Our food arrived about 5 mins later and was honestly amazing. The balance of savory, salty, and crunch in our breakfast sandwiches was definitely a 4.5! We did wait a total of 20 mins for a muffin. We did ask for it twice before finally receiving it. Guest experience to me is going to be what takes them for average to amazing. Had someone just corrected my coffee and looked like it mattered that my almost $7 coffee was not to my liking, I probably would have over other 20min wait for my muffin. read more

Overpriced and very poor quality food. Just an example; manchego cheese sandwich, 14 dollars or around that amount, last time it was burn up. I threw it to the garbage, uneatable.
