Cute little coffee shop where I stopped for lunch. I had a hot chai tea and the quiche & side salad. The tea was very good served in a big, comfy cup. The quiche was made single serve, so lots of buttery crust with a creamy, rich filling loaded with ham chunks. The side salad was basic with a good homemade lemon vinaigrette. Perfect lunch! The interior was cozy with lots of people working. They also had outside seating as well. If I am back in area, would definitely stop in again. read more

Screaming crying kicking begging for you to open a Norwalk location. I can't mention Lorca to someone without them saying "it's under new ownership", but I think the new owners have done a good job at sustaining the original quality of the shop. They have some of the best drinks and food items, the atmosphere is great for relaxing or working, and the staff is so nice and helpful. read more

The food was very average but I did enjoy the churros a a lot. The coffee was not very good. Super milky and the large has the same amount of espresso as the small so you're just paying for more milk. The inside is a great work from home spot and is very vibey. There's a real shortage of good coffee shops around here, but this place is comparable or better than most of the best shops I've been to. I've been coming here maybe 2-3 times a season since they opened about 12 years ago, but sometimes even 2-3 times A DAY. This is one of the few cafes I can confidently say is innovative while staying true to their classics. The churros are still going strong many years later, but then they're also coming out with fresh seasonal flavors all the time. Some of the best flavors of coffees I've had are at this place: jasmine matcha, maple black walnut, a proper not-too-sweet autumn spice, pistachio rose cardamom, tres leches, etc. They were doing a horchata cold brew before anyone in the area, and their alfajores cookies remain tasty as ever. I always get the espresso drinks, but their drip is great too. Food is awesome, but I wish there were more savory vegetarian options at every cafe. Still, at least it's not the same boring breakfast burrito here; the sage and manchego egg and cheese on sourdough is pretty solid. The pastries and desserts always look and taste fantastic too. live in MD but visit my parents in Stamford often, and Lorca is the spot I always find myself going to first. Plus, there's plenty of space ever since they expanded years ago, so you can bring a book and people watch the busiest street in Stamford. The service is fast, courteous, and friendly. The past few times I've gone they've been pretty slammed. They were quick but seemed maybe one person down? If they're hiring, please work here! Lorca is extra special to my husband and I, so many "firsts" here! I remember when it was a tiny cafe, it's such a beautiful spot right in the heart of downtown Stamford. I grabbed coffee and pastries from Lorca on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy when I got there. My friend and I waited quite a while for our coffee and the barista (only one) seemed busy and rushed as he was rushing to get all the orders through. My friend and my drinks came out as hot drinks even though we both specifically asked for it iced, causing a longer wait. They ended up remaking my coffee into iced drinks but mine was decaf but they handed us our drinks at the same time without any labels or makings so I don't think they made a decaf drink for me. I didn't bother asking for a new drink as it had been very long of a wait at that point. The coffee was okay, pretty light, slightly acidic. The pastries were okay as well. read more

Highly disappointed with this place. My BFs birthday was today and what an awful start of the day. We wanted to try this place, as we have heard great things about it. We ordered a 20oz iced Lorchata and was shocked when we arrived to see a half filled cup with our name on it sitting on the "pick up table" I asked the barista if this was how the Lorchata came (as it was our first time here) and was utterly shocked when she said yes. I'm no mathematician but how are you going to charge us extra for a large and only give me 1/2 a cup size of the drink?? If this was the proper size (which it's not) why would you put it in a large cup? It looks like someone drank half of it and left the rest for us. It was straight up just cold brew. Nothing added to it, no horchata. We also got the Tres Leches Iced coffee (which was filled to the top correctly) however we weren't a fan. Lorca has a lot going for it. I like the atmosphere. It's trendy. It's cute. It's LGBTQ+ and BIPOC affirming. I was greeted by a friendly cashier. And what's not to love about coffee and churros? Here's where Lorca missed the mark for me. The vanilla chai was a bit too spicy for my taste, which I can forgive because they made it with skim milk as requested and it still had a nice froth. But here's what I simply won't forgive: a medium-sized (which they touted as "large") beverage that cost almost $7.00, and they didn't even call my name when ready. I'm sitting there, they see me, and my cup is waiting down the other end of the counter. How would I have known it was there? Telepathy? Lorca seems to cater to hipster patrons, which might explain (but in no way justifies) their prices and so-so service. The menu had an interesting coffee choices like Trs Leches latte, Pistachio catdamom rose latte etc but decided to order one thing that first caught my eyes. We ordered Vanilla churro affogato. Everyone here is also super friendly and helped me w the menu. Super bright warm cozy coffee shop. Upon getting the affogato i was a bit disappointed bc i at least expected a full size churro (coffee was almost almost 10 bucks w a tip. I think i should have gotten other latte drinks. It was nonetheless good..churro was a bit hard and not enough sugar. It was nice and hot though. I LOVE this place! I stopped here several years ago on my way up the coast and I still think about it. I had one of the best cappuccino's of my life, and my son raved about the churros. I got the cafe mocha and it was delicious! Usually when I order this at other cafes, it's either too chocolate-y or the espresso tastes burnt. This was the perfect ratio of the both.
