Favorite bakery in Stamford and my go-to place for when I need a little sweet treat. Have tried donuts (get the black & white cookie, everything bagel, and their glazed!), cookies (the sea salt chocolate chip is my husband's favorite), pastries (danishes!), and cakes (pumpkin cheesecake was a hit with my family for a birthday). The hardest thing to get there is bread by the way unless you go early. I only recently tried one of their focaccias (it was tomato and either rosemary/basil) and it was the best damn focaccia I've ever had. Took one bite and audibly groaned. I'm definitely going to be exploring more of their fresh baked breads and loaves moving forward. read more

I've stopped coming here. The woman with the blond hair in a ponytail and glasses brushed me off. I was trying to tell her she gave me the wrong muffin by mistake and her response, "hold on a minute" as she continued talking to her coworker. The customer next to me called to her, "she needs to tell you something". For that she came over. I explained to her the mistake. In response, she describes to me the muffin I was asking for. I said I know, this is the one I had asked you for, and you gave me the wrong one. I gave feedback of this on their Facebook page and got a response back that was very rude and in defense of this employee. Now I'm a repeat customer at DiMare. read more

The people who run this bakery are very nice, but...this is one of those bakeries where the goodies look much, much better than they taste. Purchased both a key lime tart and a cinnamon roll to take home. The tart seriously lacked flavor. The cinnamon roll was dry and very underwhelming. There are only two categories of items at Beldotti's: things that are very good and things that are very bad. The very good: pound cake, rainbow cookies, jelly filled donuts. The very bad: all other cookies (except rainbow), cream filled cakes and any donut with chocolate on it. I went today 5 minutes before closing, not realizing that they were closing at 2pm because of the holiday. The cake and pastry case was already emptied and goods wrapped up on the shelf behind the bakery case. (QUERY: Are they going to sell these day old goods tomorrow? Sure looked like it!) Anyway, the lady behind the counter (blonde with an Eastern European accent) seemed quite annoyed that someone walked in before closing. She announced they were closing and gruffly asked me what I wanted. As she rang me up at the register, 5 more people walked in and she just about lost her mind. It was actually funny. Reminder, this is a small business, not Target, so they should serve every customer that walks through door while they are open. read more

Donuts: fine flavor, flawed order taking. I ordered by phone 10 jelly-filled powdered donuts and 10 cream-filled chocolate covered donuts and received the former and ten ring donuts that are chocolate-covered but with no filling. The taste was fine, but only half of the order was "filled" as requested. Perhaps when picking up phone order, one should ask the sales clerk to open the taped box before completing the purchase? In addition, can one ask Beldotti's to send a voice mail or email of phone orders shortly after the order to confirm that no mistakes were made in making or entering the order? read more

Came to check out Beldotti Bakery since I've heard their donuts and pastries are great! They have a pretty wide selection ranging from cookies, cakes, bread, donuts, etc. It is a bit overwhelming when you first walk in. It seems like alot of people are there picking up orders for events/gatherings. I tried their jelly donut, cinnamon sugar donut and sfogliatella. They were good but nothing that blew me away. The only frustrating thing was that it took about 15 minutes for me to be able to order. There were two staff working, they were attending to other customers who seemed to be having issues with their order but there were also about 5-6 people waiting in line to order. It woud've been better if there was one person catering to order pick ups/one person helping customers in line. read more

I have two experiences. The first was positive, I went into the store and picked up some last minute deserts I needed, the staff was helpful and kind. The deserts were good, not great. I have another experience where I tried to call to see if I could order a cake and the lady on the phone was rude. Cut me off multiple times and was just plain nasty, I just wanted information, even if they couldnt do it that doesn't warrant being just mean. I love this place! I've had a few of their treats at family parties/functions and they're always delicious. The cannoli cake here is really good but my favorite is definitely the oreo cake (to die for!) Always try to give to the local business owner, this time was a total fail. I ordered a wedding cake for second marriage. Day of wedding they delivered to the venue, said it was closed when they got there and left it outside on the steps.... When i asked them why they did this she said, we don't usually deliver and I had my boyfriend (fiancé, which ever) do you a favor and he did it when he could... hmm weird because she scheduled the delivery time and never mentioned they did not deliver wedding cakes. he did it when he could is what she told me and that was before the venue opened. That was problem number one of a few more. The only other problem I will elaborate on is the quality of the cake. It was a Napolean. let me just say it was done horribly different than any others I have tasted and that includes the one I tasted in their store. Disappointing to say the least. Great local bakery, our favorite for morning pastries! Saturday and Sunday mornings are the best & freshest. We enjoy stopping in on Sunday to try to get our favorites before they're sold out, which is super rare unless we're really early (a good thing - means that more fresh options are coming out!) We've repurchased the chocolate croissants, the monkey bread, the cronut, the onion bagels, and the muffins (banana, lemon poppy, and blueberry) at least a dozen times. We've overheard other customers picking up cookies and cakes as well, but we haven't tried them yet. They're constantly trying new recipes too and sometimes have samples to try. Very friendly and quick service, even when they're super busy. The bakery itself is small inside but they keep the line moving. We'll be back again...probably this weekend! read more

Some places make the same old thing and that's great - Beldotti has always had great bread and cakes, pastries - but they are always innovating! The new donuts made with special batter - they are SOOO good! I love lemon and know not many people do - but all the donuts filled are amazing - chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake, black raspberry. TRY THE NEW SEA SALT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES! Most folks hail LeVain bakery in NYC as the best chocolate chip cookie in the universe and it might be....this is a close second! This place is definitely a hidden gem. We were blown away by their delicious donuts. They have SO many unique options, it was hard to choose which ones we wanted. I went in today, day before Easter. I picked up an egg bread and waited to be helped at the counter. Please someone take my money. No one helped me. There was only one other customer there and he was being helped. The young girls (I counted 4) were Whooping it up, trying on bunny ears, laughing joking. I guess my buying baked goods was interfering with their social life, or maybe not, since they ignored me. I finally left after 10 minutes of waiting. Am I invisible? Great baked goods, bread, donuts etc. I would venture to say probably the best in lower Fairfield County. Would have given them 5 stars except the pastries over the last couple of months have been soggy and tasted like they have been frozen. Use to buy them regularly but after the last two times, I stopped buying them. I felt like $60.00+ went right into the garbage at a dinner party. The last time, my dinner guests loved the breads but all commented that the pastries were not up to standard. In fact one of my guest also said she stopped buying them. She had the same issue. My latest experience is on a Sunday morning. Their counter help has no idea what they are doing. I was standing there and not one of them ask me if they could they help me or asked if I was even being helped. So after being bypassed twice(I wanted to see how long it would take them to recognize me) I leaned forward and said to one of the teenage counter persons who was just standing there, "You're busy this morning, I'll come back later when you are not so busy." Even then that didn't elicit a response and I walked out. Incredible. BTW this was probably the 3rd time something like this has happen to me or a person next to me in line. I would suggest a number system to be used on their busy days since the help they have is not well trained in customer service. read more

Ok. So this is the 3 rd time in a row. ( and the last). I bought a pound of cookies today... Some of the chop at least some hamantaschen some mini chocolate chips etc. for kids noticed that two of the kids had a weird look on their face after they ate one. I tasted one... And much to my surprise it was solid as a rock and stale. All of the cookies were old and stale. I had this happen previously with a cake that I had to return and also with another batch of cookies. I called the battery to let them know that I will be bringing them back and I was told that maybe I should bring them back tomorrow to tell the owner since they have gotten a couple of calls with the same complaint...... Too many corners being cut to ever shop here again... You only sell one thing... For the love of God please replace the stale ones. There is nothing more disappointing than the look of sadness on children's faces when they bite into a cookie and can't even chew it because it is a solid rock... just totally disappointed as we used to get all of our baked goods here.
