1st time here. Super great enthusiastic service. Australian bakery with its own philosophy. Mainly a bread place, not like an Italian bakery with lots of cakes and cookies. Emphasis on less sweetness, no added sugar. Which I think is fantastic. We went in for a small dessert, ended up with blueberry lemon scone and a cinnamon roll. Cobs is delicious. First of all, the sourdough bread loaves actually make me excited about eating my boring cold cut sandwiches at work everyday. Also, all of the loaves keep very well in the freezer over time so we go all out when we stop by and bring the loaves back to California where we live. Customer Experience: Curtis helped us right when we walked in. He was warm, welcoming, and polite. He has great knowledge of the products. We got a couple of ham and cheese rolls as well as a few chocolate croissants. You feel light after you eat the food which is not what you would expect with bread! Absolutely spectacular place - I have finally found a decent bakery in CT!! the cinnamon rolls are divine, the loaf sourdough was chewy perfection and the apple ring we brought to a friend's house was not too sweet, not dry at all and just melted in your mouth. This place has the best challah in the area. The bread is golden on the outside yet so soft and fluffy on the inside. It can sell out on Shabbat, so make sure to get there early! The bread is very reasonably priced and so delicious. I'll be back! read more

They have fantastic sourdough and country bread also. The service is lovely and the prices are affordable and more than reasonable considering the quality. Fresh loafs of bread every morning and an assortment of baked goods to complement your coffee (there's a Starbucks conveniently located next door. However I suggest you buy from here cause it's super reasonably priced and way fresher quality). Ordered the chocolate croissant, spinach & feta croissant, and garlic and herb focaccia bread. I've never had a croissant so perfectly flakey yet melt in your mouth. I appreciate how it's not overbearingly sweet either. You can tell the workers really love what they do -it shows in the taste :) I look forward to coming here more often. read more

Delicious bread, but very rude staff. They put big table in the middle of the store and a lots of bread on it, my kid who is 20month old was walking next to that table, the lady who sells the bread asks take him out of there, I did, but it's a kid he does not want to stay in one spot whole entire time, she started arguing that you have to keep your kid next to you(rude way!), well it's not a dog, I tried to explain him, but he doesn't understand yet!! She was incredible rude with me and my kid !! Don't have any desire back there anymore. Never had that bad experience there, usually all staff nice and kind, but not this time. read more

I didn't know what to expect from this place when I saw it opening on High Ridge Road. I originally had no interest in going there and on a whim I stopped in just to see what it was all about. That was the best decision I've ever made. Cobs Bread has a great assortment of breads and baked good that can satisfy anyone whether they're into savory or sweet goods. It's not a bakery in the sense that you can find cookies and cupcakes but you will finds yummy scones, cinnamon buns, croissant and danishes that are perfect for treats, snacks and breakfasts. It's a wonderful spot if you want to make breakfast or dinner extra special for your family or if you've been invited to a dinner and you want to bring something to add to the table. Their product is amazingly good but their consistency in availability is not good at all. I tend to go to Cobs after work so not always getting the bread I want. I understand it's the end of the day, you get what we have. Its still very yummy breads. Twice in a row I got there and there weren't any French baguettes. The clerk said they run out quickly so morning or during the day is best, or call ahead and we'll put it aside. By some luck I was able to go twice early morning before 8 and once mid morning around 1030a, and no French baguettes. Every time I ask when will they be ready; its always 1 hour. I asked if by chance, "are they just not making them that much for the season?" The clerk said, "they're made later in the day so in the afternoon is best." I'm thinking ... REALLY!!! Its back to Whole Foods ... they always have French Baguettes :) read more

If you want to stop and great a great treat go to Cobs. The staff is helpful and willing to walk you through their assortment of baked goods. The breads and baked goods are baked right in shop. Up until today I thought I didn't like scones....try their Lemon Blueberry scone....its fresh and fluffy...not dry at all! A great shop with a great product and the prices make it very worth while. Driving by I saw the sign Cobs Bread. I went onto Yelp and looked at the reviews and pictures it definitely looked good. So I went inside. John the manager greeted me, and we started talking. I told him I had never been there before he proceeded to tell me about the store and why his bread is so special. It was a fun experience. He made a sample bag for me to take home. I then went to Trader Joes for some st Andre and some extra sharp cheddar. One roll was better than the next each piece of bread was better than the one before. No other bakery can hold a candle to Cobs Bread. Don't believe me, go and see for yourself. If you would've told me I liked Chia bread I would've said you were crazy. read more

Absolutely delicious Bread . However, when it first opened : we got two Turkish breads and on both of them there was hair . I stoped buying bread for 3 months. After three months we gave it a chance and found hair again. My husband complained that they must wear gloves and hats because of the hair . Afterwords we gave it another chance and didn't find hair. We shop there every week, so far lucky, but I am always scared to see hair ! read more
