I found a bug in my cake and the staff was very rude when I called to let them know. Don't give them any business

Our wedding planner at our club recommended Sweet Lisa's cakes to us and we are so glad she did! We contacted her with a wedding date and an idea of what we wanted for our cake. She told us we could come pick up our cake tasting kit which was so beautiful and delicious, she even added personalized iced wedding cookies for us as a treat. With Covid many in house tastings have changed. And honestly it worked perfectly this way. We got four different cake types to try and about 8-9 flavors of icing. We absolutely LOVED the cookies and cream icing and we couldn't decide between chocolate or vanilla cake so we went with marble. I changed what I wanted the cake to look like about 5 times and Lisa didn't even ask me why I was changing it all around she just told me "no problem, fondant or buttercream" lol. Everyone was raving about how delicious the cake was and asked us if we had extra leftover because they wanted more! The staff at our wedding made sure to save us the top tier and we have it saved in the freezer for our 1 year anniversary. Thank you so much Lisa for a delicious cake, and beautiful work! Our venue sent us to Sweet Lisa's for our wedding, but I'm glad they did. Sweet Lisa's is an adorable little home bakery. My husband and I had the same goal; to design a wedding cake that was non-traditional that our guests would actually want to eat! Sweet Lisa's had such a variety of options that it made this possible. We ended up with a 4 tier cake, with 2 different styles: Funfetti cake with Oreo cream frosting and Chocolate Chiffon cake with Reese's cream frosting for the other. The result was epic. Asides from the insides being perfect, the outside was beautiful and included cascading flowers from our florist to match our colors. My wife and I got married just days ago, so I wanted to leave this review with all of these memories till fresh. Speaking of fresh... the flavor was so rich and delicate in our cake. Our venue wanted us to book with a few other "suggested vendors" for the cake. But we'd heard such wonderful things about Sweet Lisa's. So we decided to have a go and check them out. Turns out, they were very accommodating and personable. I hate fondant, and when relaying that to the baker, she laughed, and understood me immediately while simply saying, "It isn't for everyone I suppose." She was kind, understanding, and accommodating. We tried SEVERAL different forms of cake and filling, as Jess Vitti, the baker went over all of our options and possibilities. She was encouraging and always smiling. You can tell these people really love what they do. The variety of options was great, and we landed on a perfect choice for my wife and I. While they had some really exquisite options, my wife and I have simpler tastes, and Sweet Lisa's made us feel right at home no matter which way we were leaning. On the day of our wedding, Jess personally delivered and set up our PERFECT cake, then assembled the flowers in a burst pattern, or a semi-cascade... I forget... but it was so beautiful that it had our venue attendants gasping because they said they had never seen anything so beautiful. I worked with Sweet Lisa's while I was planning my bosses wedding. They really had no idea what they wanted, but we made an appointment and visited Sweet Lisa's after a very high recommendation. The couple that owns the shop were very nice and accommodating. They sat with us while we browsed their idea books and sample cake pictures. Finally the bride picked out a very different and original looking cake. The husband was excited to make it and we were excited as well. On the day of the wedding the husband (Jon i think it is) came to the house to deliver the cake. He put the final touches on it, decorated with actual flowers and made sure it was brought out to the tent without anything happening. Their pastries are out-of-this-world delicious! Been going to Sweet Lisa's since they opened their first shop on Greenwich Ave. We've gotten kids' birthday cakes, wedding & anniversary cakes.... Occasionally, they've created elaborate show-stopper that were beyond belief. Really mind-blowing. Even their simple cakes are stunning. That initial guilt cutting into the cake is short-lived after the first bite, which is immediately followed by an auto-response of "OMG!". Lisa & her husband Steve work with a small crew of prof pastry chefs. All are phenomenal artists as well, which, in my view, make them outstanding. I've told Lisa, when I take my last breath, I hope to savor her chocolate cake as my last earthly indulgence. What a way to go! read more

When planning my wedding, the first thing I wanted to nail down was the cake. It was the only part of the event that I had a clear idea about. I visited a few other bakeries to discuss cake ideas but they were all failures compared to Sweet Lisa's. The location is so cute and the staff was super. Everyone I spoke with, including the owner and her husband (I think), was so considerate and helpful. I brought in a picture, had a couple of tastings, and they created my dream. Could not be happier with my wedding cake from Sweet Lisa's. She walked us through all of our options for cake and fillings, gave us "best pairings" suggestions and even allowed us some extra tastes of fillings that she had on hand. Do NOT bother!!! What a disappointment. My wife and I were married in Westchester, New York and were referred to Sweet Lisa's for our wedding cake. We got to the shop for our tasting appointment. The business is run out of a house. When we arrived the shop was a little chaotic, a film crew was filming part of a reality show, no one seemed to care about our appointment had to wait a little too long before someone finally approached us. We taste-tested the cake samples we had ordered in advance and the samples were really only so so at best. The gentlemen who was assigned to take care of us was a little condescending explaining the cake options, also impatient and expected us to make a decision about a $1500 cake on the spot! No thanks, I think we will take our time. On top of all of this, we had to PAY for the cake samples, other cake shops do not do this! After poor experience at the shop with so so tasting samples, my wife and I ended up going with a cake shop in Westchester, NY called Lulus in Scarsdale. Lulu's was awesome (see review), so glad we switched! Their samples were free and delicious and fresh and different. The wedding cake from Lulus on our wedding day was spectacular!!! read more

I went to a sampling and Sweet Lisa's cakes were my absolute favorite. Light with the perfect amount of taste, flavors perfectly balanced, not too heavy or sweet. Perfection and really beautiful cakes! It wasn't for my wedding but if the boyfriend ever gets over his commitment phobia (though might take a miracle) I will be most likely ordering from here. read more

Expensive and worth it. Sweet Lisa's is THE place to get a very special decorated cake for a special occasion. It has to be special because she is expensive, but as I said - you get your money's worth. It is so funny. I didn't have any of the experiences of the others. I was given her name from the Tarrytown House Estate and in looking her up, I found Sweet Grace's instead. Ironically, they both have the same name Lisa so I thought I was speaking to the woman I was referred to when I was not. In relaying this story to "Sweet Lisa" and telling her that I wanted buttercream flowers for my daughter's cake she said that she doesn't do that and that I should go to the other bakery. I told the GM at Tarrytown that she actually dismissed me! Turns out "Sweet Grace" came into the Tarrytown area to meet us on the Saturday I had the appointment with the florist ("Sweet Lisa" only meets weekdays regardless of if you work or live out of town) and she had no problem with the buttercream flowers. In fact, she told me that they are being requested more and more these days. Check out Sweet Grace's reviews. They are much more plentiful and her cake was out of this world. Much more gourmet too. I ordered a Champagne Cake with fresh strawberry cream filling. We did a basket weave with buttercream flowers cascading down. It was simply beautiful and she was a pleasure to work with. read more

I hired Sweet Lisa's to make a specialty cake for 90 guests for my husband's 50th surprise party. Not only did I want a delicious cake but a beautiful one. Sweet Lisa's exceeded my expectations. I met with them to design a cake in the shape of a speedboat which is my husband's hobby and passion. They showed me photos of some boat cakes they had made in the past, as well as other 3-D cakes with similar designs. Without their ideas and contributions, the birthday cake would never have come out this detailed. It was exactly what I wanted. There were even miniature people representing my husband and me on the boat and our daughters tubing off the back of the boat just like in the photo I had shared with them! The caterer put the cake on display and so many of my guests commented on the detail of it. After the cake was served, I got so many positive comments about how delicious it was.
