After living in the Milford area for a while I've heard a lot about the Roast Beef sandwich at Lasse's. After all of these years, I finally got around to trying it. Overall, I think I'm a little underwhelmed. The sandwich isn't bad but it's not great. It's just ok. I certainly would order it again but I won't be rushing back. The sandwich is served with one slice of pickle, au jus for dipping and potato salad. I don't think the roll is suitable for dipping in au jus. I would have preferred this sandwich with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato. Au jus requires a much more crispy roll. I'm a big fan of potato salad and this was just ok as well. It was extremely "eggy" and the potatoes had too much bite. The restaurant itself was a "dive" in my opinion. It was old, "stuff" everywhere and not very appealing. read more

We went to dinner Saturday night and ordered the prime rib Weeknd special for $26.95. I was not pleased with it. It was not tender and quite tough. I ordered mine medium rare and my friend ordered hers medium. The mashed potatoes and the fresh mixed vegetables were delicious and the chicken orzo soup was also. I chose soup over salad. This is definitely a traditional type restaurant and a little outdated. A lot of the people that came in seemed to know the workers which was really nice! There were tons of flies flying around which wasn't ideal and we were sat right next to the phone at the bar and it rang nearly non stop the whole time we were there, no one picked up any of the calls. First time here . Came for lunch ! Lasse's is great, they have lunch specials and regular menu lineup . The place was buzzing but the service was excellent! Pandemic protocol was observed . Masks, glass partitions, hand sanitizers. The works for health safety. Reasonable prices. Their Philly steak sandwich is a must try ! And so is their tuna melt and their crispy sweet potato fries . For soup we tried their corned beef and cabbage soup - super yummy ! Service makes them stand out ! Everyone is jolly and nice. Thanks to Cindy and Courtney!! Driving home on I95 from Mohegan Sun, looking for some lunch. Searching Yelp and striking out, Lasse's comes up. I checked the recent reviews and then the menu. They have lunch specials and it's affordable! We pull up to an older looking building, whose sign says famous roast beef for 50 years. We walk into the dining rom and was warmly greeted by our server, who asked if we wanted to sit in the bar or the dining room. We chose a booth and were given menus. A FULL page of daily specials. In the regular menu, I find WHOLE BELLY CLAMS And said waitress says that they're AVAILABLE!!! I'm skeptical because how many clams could possibly be on a lunch platter for $15.95? So I also order a White Russian sandwich, which is a reuben with turkey instead of corned beef. The easy on the pocket price is $6.95 and is served with either cole slaw or potato salad, which is out of this world delicious! The food that came out of this kitchen (in 5 minutes no less!) is astounding. We watched the plates that other people were getting too and you will not be disappointed in what you get. I was never aware of it before even though I've lived in the area most my life with so surprise great roast beef sandwich, friendly, waitstaff, simple, but comfortable good for a real family restaurant and I'm told it is a Milford institution. My friend and I stopped in for a drink. We were so happy to finally get in! It's normally packed. As soon as I smelled the amazing aroma of home style cooking, I said, "we are eating here". We sat at the bar and were presented with a book of a menu. I ordered the "famous" roast beef, served with delicious mashed potatoes and a yummy vegetable medley. We were looking for a place to get some seafood - someplace different then our normal GoTos and when I searched there was Lasse's - we had heard good things overall and certainly they have been around for a while so we decided to try it. Big menu lots of seafood and Italian options. My wife and son had the lobster roll which they really enjoyed. Why wife was skeptical but after the meal proclaimed she would def go back. I had the prime rib - which was a good sized portion for the price and very flavorful. Not fine dining environment but excellent food with great service and a full bar. read more

So bad that I've never submitted a review for Lasse's before today. We were there last night and had great food in the bar. One of the things I love about Lasse's is that you can get whole belly clams here. So many places will fry rubber bands and call them clam strips, but Lasse's fries actual whole bellied clams (awesome!) that you can dunk in tartar sauce and wash down with a couple beers. That's how people are supposed to eat. Pile on some fries and maybe some chicken wings and your stomach will love you even if your cardiologist won't! We had the aforesaid wings which were very good, some corned beef and cabbage soup and some stuffed clams. Everything was fine. Service was great and we'll be back several more times! We ordered a half tray of lasagna and I have tray of chicken Parm it was delicious. The sauce was absolutely wonderful. It's the first time we've ordered takeout all our guest loved the food. I highly recommend lassies and I would get the takeout again when the family gets together My family has been going to lassies for many years. I highly recommend them last week. You have to try this long standing restaurant that is a staple of Milford. Never had a bad meal. My husband and I had been ordering their delicious Chicken Marsala more times than we probably should but it's been affordable thanks to the carry-out discount. Quality chicken, delicious marsala sauce not too salty.. the mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies are excellent. Comes with a fresh side salad. I always ask for a side of Parmesan cheese! Pasta and seafood dishes are known to be great as are their sandwiches. I hope the owners know how helpful the carry out discounts have been after being after being stuck inside and having to really budget when choosing when and where to spend money on a night in. Dropped in over a busy lunch hour. First time in the area. Asked the server for a recommendation....clam strips or fish and chips. She said..."They are both good", but the clam strips are fantastic." She was right! A pile of lightly breaded, crispy clam strips...served over what appeared to be in house cut fries. Not greasy at all. 100% a do again. I have been going to Lassies for 60 years and love it. Recently, I went with a childhood friend and we were looking forward to reminiscing. I made a reservation for 2 on a Monday night. The waitress told promptly told us that if we were going to drink wine we should order a bottle. We declined and ordered water. She came to the table three times in a few short minutes to take our order and when we told her we were sorry we hadn't looked at the menu yet we were catching up she told us that we had to hurry up and order because there was an hour and 15 minute on the table. In all my years of going to Lassies I never heard this especially on a weekday night when there were many empty tables. We arrived at 6 and the waitress delivered our salad quickly followed by our entree all by 6:15. That shows you how hurried she was. Never have felt so rushed. She ignored us for the rest of our visit and we had to ask another waitress for water, a dessert menu and our check. All in all the food was wonderful as usual and we walked out the door at 7:15 leaving many empty tables behind. I think Scott would be disappointed to hear about this poor service. read more

Showed up for lunch today, and was really looking forward to some lobster rolls. Employees showed up 5 minutes before their posted opening time and didn't even open the doors on time. We even waited for another 5 minutes to allow them time to get settled. Still never opened the doors and we even knocked with no answer. We decided to Seven Seas and enjoyed a great lunch. I really don't like that Yelp doesn't allow half stars. This place is totally a 3 1/2. Service is great. This place has a real mom and pop feel. The inside is a bit out of date to say the least.The food however is pretty good. My som ordered the scallop meal with mashed potatoes. He devoured it and was very happy. My wife and I both chose different specials from the day. I had an chicken cutlet meal with sausage, broccoli rabe, garlic, white bean over penne. A little bit soupy but pretty decent. My wife had a grilled chicken, olives, broccoli over cavatelli. Also very good. Portions are very big and prices are reasonable. Try this place if you pass through Milford,CT. read more

Butter Lobster roll was just on point, very delicious! Lobster Blue plate came with French fries and coleslaw, $19.95. Went for lunch today. Sat at the bar with my mask far from others. Several people not observing the mask and social distancing sat down right next to me. They Immediately received their drinks first. I waited 20 minutes and no one ever acknowledged me. I only wanted lunch. I walked out and will never go back again. I was that hungry guy at the bar today. Shame one you. My family has been using Lasse's Restaurant for catering and in-restaurant events for many years and have never been disappointed. Their catering team is top notch and the food is always delivered promptly on time and piping hot. They are equipped to handle large orders and have an extensive menu. They are willing to cater to particular dietary habits without a problem. Our standard dish from them, which has become a treat, is rice and roasted veggie stuffed eggplant rollatini. It's so good, that I've tried to recreate it at home to no avail. The restaurant itself is very cozy and decorated with photos and memorabilia of old Milford. The staff is pleasant. I ate the whole belly clams here today for lunch and I got severe food poisoning and needed to go the hospital in Milford. They had to give me an IV for being so dehydrated from the constant vomiting and diarrhea that lasted nearly the whole rest of the day and night into the early hours of the morning. Due to the possible bacteria or parasites (Im still waiting on the results of the test to see which one it was from if not both) I was also put on the IV antibiotic doxycycline diarrhea medicine. I had a horrible fever with a temperature of 102.6. My fiance had ordered something different (Thank God!) but he still had a few of the disgusting clams. Thankfully he has quite the iron stomach and only threw up one time with some mild discomfort and diarrehea as well. We are extremely concerned and disturbed by our experience. I haven't reached out to the restaurant yet; I am planning on talking to the health board of Milford and to a lawyer as I could've have died the doctor said if my fever went any higher. I also had to obviously miss work that night and the next day and now I am being billed several thousand dollars. PLEASE please please people heed my warning and do NOT eat here! It is not worth the risk of getting so very sick or God forbid worse! Stay very clear of Little Lassies at least until the health department inspects them and makes a report. I may notify the Milford Patch of this incident. I am thoroughly horrified as I've never experienced a food borne illness like such. It was terrible and so scary. Please everyone be weary of where you eat seafood and especially don't eat here! Stay safe and healthy everyone! Thank you for reading about my experience.God bless. read more
