Very disappointed in our recent trip to Frankie's, I've been going here for a long time. I hadn't been there in a year or two but it failed terribly on this day. Came in for breakfast with my wife, service from our waiter was very good, food fell short. I got a bacon egg and cheese and some home fries. My wife went for an omelet and home fries as well which we asked to be extra crispy. My roll didn't taste very fresh so I had to shovel down my sandwich, could've used some more bacon in my opinion as well. The omelet was good but both of our home fries which is a breakfast staple stunk. The potatoes lacked flavor and were burnt and mushy. As others have said, Frankie's isnt what it used to be. Back in the 80's to mid 90's, I would visit with family and friends at least several times a year. Portions were always big and food was tasty and fresh. I went for a recent dinner about a month ago. I had a patty melt which is a diner staple as most people know. It was much smaller than I remembered, and the waffle fries seemed sad and likely frozen, Proces were high for what you get. I think I'll stick to Duchess or Blue Sky Diner next time that I'm in the area. read more

First lemme say I've been coming here since the mid 70's This diner used to be the PLACE to go for really good diner food.. Man who sat me was professional and friendly, nice greeting.. So I wanted to order a wrap that used to be on the menu, but has since been removed, luckily it's not anything fancy and they have all the ingredients. Now I drive like 35 minutes to come here because this sandwich they make is delicious. Nobody makes it better than them and it's worth the drive. So I go to order the item is not on the menu. I asked the young man if they could make it and he says yes to ask which is fine and they disappears like 20 minutes then he reappears to let me know it's not on the menu anymore. I know that's how this conversation started so he says yeah the kitchen will make it. So now another 20 minutes goes by. I'm waiting for my food and my coffee forever. I get the item it's not made like it used to be made. It doesn't taste like it used to taste. I maybe half of it. My stomach is killing me. It's really greasy you are. The guy behind me. Had a simple order of an omelette with a couple of vegetables in it they totally screwed that up and he was complaining. So the good news is that I had this sandwich from this place was great. Everything was delicious as usual Frankie's is my go to place the best wings in town, vegetables were fresh potatoes were delicious and after it was all said and done the delicious espresso martini hit the spot. It's very good and the price wasn't that expensive for my entire dinner. It was good. The reviews doesn't do it justice. Just your everyday diner that's open 24/7 and the food is served fast, warm, and with a smile. I enjoyed the mass seating for our group for breakfast, rounds of coffee every 5 minutes, and just a pleasant experience. I recommend it, as a visitor from out of town. read more

We waited at least 5 mins before being greeted and seated, even though others noticed and ignored. Soup or salad to accompany meal. Both ok but no crackers with soup. Waitress super nice, but really not attentive. Never brought ice water as requested 2 times, in spite only 1 other party at time of arrival. Waitress did bring way ahead of time to go containers, but never checked in to see if all was good or drink refills needed. Meatloaf was bland and textureless and just eh. The onions were not listed on menu and they were really not a hit; slices too large and had a weird taste. Not at all appetizing or elevating to dish. Sides veggies not good-spinach had bits of crunchy and inedible brown bits throughout. Had wanted to order a home made rice pudding to go, but waitress just flurried by stating, "check." Nothing like finding a good old fashioned diner to fill your belly. After a family gathering a bunch of us decided to hit a diner for dinner. We pulled into Frankie's as it was open while the other diner close by was closed for the holiday. Glad we did because we had a terrific meal here. The place itself has that warm cozy old diner look to it. Probably needs to be updated but that is part of the charm with these diners that dot the NY/CT/NJ landscape. Service was very friendly and attentive. Huge diner menu full of choices. Tasty hot coffee. Huge portions at such a cheap price! Most everything on the menu seems to be under $10. Even the daily specials that included soup or salad was under ten bucks. It was cold out last night and was snowing a bit. Perfect weather for some Hungarian Beef Goulash and Beef Barley Soup special. The soup was good, and the hearty portion of goulash they give you here is off the scale. Placed my order of ham and cheese omelet, home fries, a side of grits, and a large coffee. Food arrived fast and hot. The omelet was large and filled with ham and cheese. The grits were cooked properly, which a lot of places can't manage. Home fries were not mushy and had just a little onion mixed in. For to go coffee it was way better then the swill (Starbucks) that the hotel I'm at serves. Can't wait for this covid crap to be under control so I can actually sit in this diner and enjoy a meal. So sad! Tonight we tried Frankie's once again, because the last time was a big disappointment, with food and service being subpar. We were seated in a booth, and the server told us she'd be "right back." We sat there for 10 minutes, no water, no utensils, nothing. There were about 5 other booths with customers. One server. Fast and great food! I love that they're 24/7, rain or snow. I always order out since I'm always on the go. The staff are super friendly though and the place is super cozy. My son's favorite is the cheeseburger deluxe, the fries never gets soggy, and I love their salad (big portion and delicious). This is my go to place! So far the best diner in town. read more

The second time I ordered breakfast my omelette had cheese on it after I specifically requested no cheese. I'm extremely lactose intolerant so I ended up wasting $16. They were open, but just barely. 10:30pm, doors locked, takeout window with a partially-obscured menu in the window and instructions to call your order in, but no phone number posted. The person taking the order seemed unfamiliar with the menu, did not understand what a cheesesteak was, and could not do a large house salad, even though both were menu items.
