    Fantastic meatloaf dinner!
    Denise A.

Wow. So disappointing eating in. We arrived and the place was empty, save for 1 individual and one other party. We waited at least 5 mins before being greeted and seated, even though others noticed and ignored. Soup or salad to accompany meal. Both ok but no crackers with soup. Waitress super nice, but really not attentive. Never brought ice water as requested 2 times, in spite only 1 other party at time of arrival. Waitress did bring way ahead of time to go containers, but never checked in to see if all was good or drink refills needed. Meatloaf was bland and textureless and just eh. The onions were not listed on menu and they were really not a hit; slices too large and had a weird taste. Not at all appetizing or elevating to dish. Sides veggies not good-spinach had bits of crunchy and inedible brown bits throughout. Had wanted to order a home made rice pudding to go, but waitress just flurried by stating, "check." Probably for the best. I will not be visiting again.

Parking: huge lot Decor: typical diner, very clean with a sun room Food: large portions, well cooked and well presented Service: very friendly though a little slow...was one of maybe 10ppl in the place and had to get up and get my own menu. Overall: average diner with good food.

Hungarian Beef Goulash special. Huge portion!

Nothing like finding a good old fashioned diner to fill your belly. After a family gathering a bunch of us decided to hit a diner for dinner. We pulled into Frankie's as it was open while the other diner close by was closed for the holiday. Glad we did because we had a terrific meal here. The place itself has that warm cozy old diner look to it. Probably needs to be updated but that is part of the charm with these diners that dot the NY/CT/NJ landscape. Service was very friendly and attentive. Huge diner menu full of choices. Tasty hot coffee. Huge portions at such a cheap price! Most everything on the menu seems to be under $10. Even the daily specials that included soup or salad was under ten bucks. It was cold out last night and was snowing a bit. Perfect weather for some Hungarian Beef Goulash and Beef Barley Soup special. The soup was good, and the hearty portion of goulash they give you here is off the scale. Half our group ened up doggie bagging it. Not me! I wolfed that plate down - pronto. Delish! Had a food baby in my belly. Then went into a total food coma on the train back home to NYC. They even have a coffee loyalty card here, and are open 24/7. Also, the bread they placed on the table in the baskets were like soft warm fluffy pieces of crack that resembled mini hot dog rolls! I ate a basket by myself!

Another great diner that Bridgeport has to offer. Service that makes you feel like a regular costumer, even though I walked in for the first time. I did not had pastrami for a while and went for the sandwich... Great choice!

As soon as we pulled into the parking and saw two police officers and at least four to five people from nearby businesses enter we knew we chose the right place. My wife had the cinnamon raisin French toast and I had the same thing I always get so I can make a good comparison (two eggs over easy, hash browns, rye toast, bacon and a side of sausage) Eggs were cooked to perfection, the bacon was just right, the sausage links were some of the best I have had in a long time, the hash browns were made with peppers and onions and were cooked just right The staff gave us the perfect amount of service while not being over the top. The ambiance was one of calm and you could tell the staff was relaxed Upon leaving we said our goodbye and thank you and a gentleman behind the front counter who was speaking with the Stratford Officers stopped for a minute and thanked us and told us to be safe in our travels this morning. I can assume he was the owner and, if so, I can see where his staff gets their training My wife and I felt appreciated in that moment. He and the staff had no idea if we were new in town, people passing through or we came in from a different town they truly made us feel welcome and we will certainly be returning Maybe this upcoming Sunday morning!! P.S. the coffee was excellent also

We ordered the pumpkin pancakes and the biscuits and gravy to share and they were so good and our favorite at the table. My friend and I got the egg salad sandwich on a croissant which sounded amazing but was not tasty. It lacked simple seasonings - that's the only negative. Prices were decent, service was great - we didn't have to wait to sit down, we walked in and looked for our own table... our waitress was friendly and recommended dishes for us to try. I'd def go back next time we are in the area.

My son always raved over their Mac N' cheese and this is where he wanted us to take him for his 22nd birthday, he wanted their Mac N' cheese, so both my son and my other son's girlfriend ordered the mac & cheese. They took about four bites and my son decided it's different. It's not like it used to be doesn't taste right. Nonetheless, he was disappointed on his birthday. Beside that, our food was good. But the first noticeable thing was our server a waitress, she was pretty rude even though we were very nice to her. After we'd gotten home my other son looked it up and seen a few reviews on the service of this very same waitress/server. We dined there on 05/06/26 . And got there about 8:30-9:00pm

It was delicious! This time, I reserved a table for four, including guests who were up to an adventurous evening. The place was hopping! A Friday evening fun atmosphere and a beautiful bar that reminded me of a Paris restaurant. We were seated at a great table with banquettes in a corner of the front dining room. Our waitperson was excellent- energetic, informed of the menu, friendly & interactive, I believe her name was Shamira. We received great recommendations for dishes on the menu accommodating certain preferences. Following Cocktails - from the usual order of Scotch, to the " Crimson" spicy, indeed. The "Wanderer" imbiber said she could sip them all night. I, being mostly just a wine drinker, ordered from the "unusual wines" - a delicious white wine from Languedoc named "Picpoul De Pinet, Feline Jourdan", which paired very well with both courses. Based on my enthusiasm we all shared a bottle with our Main Course! Total alignment. We shared Caesar salads, which were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their selection of a main course: Halibut with corn risotto, Shrimp & Grits with spicy red sauce (just right spicy), My dish was Mussels in ginger & lemongrass red Curry, paired with grilled bread for soaking up that sauce, Yum!; a Whole Red Snapper with Mole sauce for my husband - most adventurous diner of the evening! We stretched ourselves to order two desserts: Crème Brûlée and Goat Cheesecake! Sublime. On departing the Restaurant, we were thanked for dining by the Proprietor, Wesley. We had an inspiring conversation about Bridgeport's future. A memorable evening.

Drinks first: my slightly dirty martini was made exactly right. My friend went with cosmo and it was equally on point. Whoever is behind that bar has their act together. Then the food happened. We started with grilled bread with an EVOO, agave, and chile dip -- sounds simple, ate like a statement. The char on the bread, the heat and sweetness of that dip. Good sign of things to come. Main event: shrimp and grits. Guinea flint grits, spicy red sauce, sage, stock. I don't say this lightly -- this is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The grits were creamy and rich, the sauce had real depth and heat, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The whole bowl just worked on every level. Dessert: goat cheesecake with pistachio dust and berry compote. Tangy, creamy, not too sweet, and that pistachio dust on top was a perfect finish. We cleared the plate.
