This place was so nostalgic it was just so horny with so many picture frames and pictures of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Audrey Hepburn like this classic. They had invented soda machines and the rotary phones, loved every part of this diner. This is a Mexican 50s vibe diner the food was delicious I had the Huevos A La Mexicana and I was in heaven, I paired it with their Maragrita Smoothie. I've never even heard of a Margarita Smoothie so I was gongho to try it out, and I wasn't disappointed. This was just the first time coming here and before we made our way back home the following day, it was my mother and I we went back for breakfast but wound up ordering lunch it was so good I forgot to take pictures. For lunch my mom did their patty melt and I did their tex barbecue bacon burger. The burger came loaded with bacon cheddar cheese and sautéed onions (mouthwatering). I also paired my burger with their mango smoothie top notch. The wait staff was amazing even though they got busy they never forgot to come back to the table to keep checking on us to make sure we had everything and that everything was good. Next time I'm back in the area I'm definitely coming back to this diner

I love a good diner. And this one is no exception. Friendly staff, fresh breakfast, and a 1950s theme. We had the Sinatra combo. It consisted of two eggs, two bacon, two sausages, and two pancakes or 2 waffles. They had 50s music playing in the background. It was not busy when we arrived for our breakfast. The booths are spacious, and the diner itself is too. A lot of cool decor hung up all over this place. I enjoyed the vibe and would love to come back for a nice start to my day.

Great, old fashioned diner. All the staples of my 50+ years of going to diners, and everything was delicious. We had a basic cheeseburger, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. All was top notch. Love all the decorations too. Even though much of it doesn't quite fit into the 50's theme, it's still fun.

This place is amazing, the food and customer service was great. The vibes in the place were also great.

One of the menus, perhaps a lunch specials menu.

Old school diner! I love this place because of its location and extensive menu. Now, it's nothing fancy, but I like the 50's theme and you can sit at the lunch counter, booth, or take a table. The perfect spot for early breakfast or late night eats. I had The Rocky wrap which is a chicken cutlet with roasted peppers and cheese; I inhaled it. I was in the area for a couple days so I returned for their "Create your famous sandwich" and had the chicken cutlet. Notice the theme? Point is, they have a lot to offer, spaced out seating for everyone's safety, and quick bites at reasonable prices! Keep holding it down for the port!

Fifty's theme night and every night. Great atmophere. Try the booth.

Greeted by a friendly waitress, we sat at a booth. Loved the 'oldies' music. Decorations were cute. Lots of Marilyn Monroe paraphernalia as well as Route 66 signs. Food was very good and reasonably priced. I had a gyro with fries. This was made a bit different. Usually lettuce and cukes are part of the wrap. This had sauteed onions and tomatoes which were very savory, combined with the gyro meat. When i topped with the tzaikki sauce, it was delicious! Coleslaw was tasty too. Husband had a double hamburger with bacon which he polished off. We were so stuffed, no room for dessert. Maybe next time. On my way out, saw they had an early bird menu. Really good value! Definitely returning. If you're in the area, stop by!

Upon entering this Diner your first impression may be a slight but persistent odor in the restaurant, but if you can set this aside you will enjoy good food with friendly and attentive service. Linda was my waitress, and the turkey club a delicious choice prepared perfectly.

5 Star classic Diner food in an unassuming location. We loved everything we ordered... and don't miss the 50's style shakes. Perfection!

Really bad pastrami. Hard as shoe leather. No free refills on iced tea. Look elsewhere for a bite of lunch.

NEVER AGAIN! We have been patrons of the Galaxy Diner for…read moreyears, having eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner and stopped last night for dinner. I ordered Roast Beef Au Jus, with mashed potatoes and apple sauce. They don't serve rolls, salad or anything extra, and when the roast beef arrived, it was slices of DARK GRAY BROWN with NO pink, floating in a cup of over salted "au jus" and was inedible! I tried to eat the meat, gave my husband a piece, he said, "don't eat that!" When I told the server, she brought over a guy who I assume was the owner or manager. I told him the meat was not fresh, tasted old and, instead of apologizing, he started BULLYING ME INSISTING HE WOULD CHARGE FOR EVERYTHING BUT THE BEEF, and LOUDLY kept repeating the meat was "fine" and that I "just didn't like it!" Well, NO SIR, yes, the MEAT WAS HORRIBLE and he kept arguing and insisted "is it fair?" to charge me for the potatoes, applesauce and salad. GUESS WHAT? He charged $7.25 for a side of mashed potatoes, $4.50 for a tiny dish of applesauce, and $4.95 for the salad! The salad was bagged mixed lettuce which was thrown into a bowl, bits of wet spinach and wilted lettuce mixed up, it was just AWFUL! So, my "dinner" cost $16.70 with no meat! Now, Galaxy Diner WAS one of our favorite diners but NOT ANY MORE! Unless that owner changes his attitude and cleans up the diner, business will continue to shrink! And IT HAS shrunk! Now we know why the diner isn't HALF as busy as used to be! GOOD LUCK AT ATTRACTING AND KEEPING NEW CUSTOMERS!

My second time dining at 29 Markle Court yesterday! When…read morefirst I was introduced to this restaurant: an impromptu visit with a group, and we shared small plates, family style. It was delicious! This time, I reserved a table for four, including guests who were up to an adventurous evening. The place was hopping! A Friday evening fun atmosphere and a beautiful bar that reminded me of a Paris restaurant. We were seated at a great table with banquettes in a corner of the front dining room. Our waitperson was excellent- energetic, informed of the menu, friendly & interactive, I believe her name was Shamira. We received great recommendations for dishes on the menu accommodating certain preferences. Following Cocktails - from the usual order of Scotch, to the " Crimson" spicy, indeed. The "Wanderer" imbiber said she could sip them all night. I, being mostly just a wine drinker, ordered from the "unusual wines" - a delicious white wine from Languedoc named "Picpoul De Pinet, Feline Jourdan", which paired very well with both courses. Based on my enthusiasm we all shared a bottle with our Main Course! Total alignment. We shared Caesar salads, which were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their selection of a main course: Halibut with corn risotto, Shrimp & Grits with spicy red sauce (just right spicy), My dish was Mussels in ginger & lemongrass red Curry, paired with grilled bread for soaking up that sauce, Yum!; a Whole Red Snapper with Mole sauce for my husband - most adventurous diner of the evening! We stretched ourselves to order two desserts: Crème Brûlée and Goat Cheesecake! Sublime. On departing the Restaurant, we were thanked for dining by the Proprietor, Wesley. We had an inspiring conversation about Bridgeport's future. A memorable evening.

This place deserves way more attention than it gets. Tucked in downtown Bridgeport with easy street…read moreand garage parking nearby, 29 Markle Court walks in with serious style -- the decor is chic, the atmosphere is warm and cool at the same time, and it genuinely feels like somewhere you'd expect to find in a much bigger city. Drinks first: my slightly dirty martini was made exactly right. My friend went with cosmo and it was equally on point. Whoever is behind that bar has their act together. Then the food happened. We started with grilled bread with an EVOO, agave, and chile dip -- sounds simple, ate like a statement. The char on the bread, the heat and sweetness of that dip. Good sign of things to come. Main event: shrimp and grits. Guinea flint grits, spicy red sauce, sage, stock. I don't say this lightly -- this is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The grits were creamy and rich, the sauce had real depth and heat, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The whole bowl just worked on every level. Dessert: goat cheesecake with pistachio dust and berry compote. Tangy, creamy, not too sweet, and that pistachio dust on top was a perfect finish. We cleared the plate.
