We had corned beef hash and french toast with with egg platters...delicious. Very good coffee. Friendly folks. Old decor, you tell much hasn't changed in decades. Classic greasy spoon. Sticky syrup bottles. The whole deal. Go there! read more

This was our first time trying them. This a simple diner in a strip mall. The waitress was friendly at first but I wish she would've communicated better. The prices are not that affordable, for the lack of decor and the basic nature of the food the food is overpriced. We ordered an eggs benedict platter$17.25, 2 coffees $3 each and one single fried egg. On the menu, it clearly stated one extra egg ordered with a platter is $2. However, when I received the receipt it stated $4.30. I brought this up to the waitress. She says oh yeah I charged you for an egg sandwich. I questioned why as we did order a platter and it clearly stated $2 for an extra egg which is what I ordered. She proceeded to tell me she worked there 19 years and on and on. I did not want to be rude or further the conversation as she was unwilling to understand or adjust the bill. I said fine I'll take my toast from the sandwich to go then. I paid my bill and gave the customary tip. I will not be returning to this business where the waitress fails to communicate correctly when taking the order, then fails to correct the issue at checkout. It was a difference of $2.30, but how do you take the liberty of charging me for something I did not order. The food was basic and the waitress was stubborn for no good cause. There are plenty of no frills diners in the area which I will frequent before setting foot here again. read more

Food was fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked. One of the best diners around--friendly staff and great service every time!

Old school greasy spoon in a strip mall - and I mean that in a good way. Unusually busy weekend in Fairfield due to family weekend so staff were a little overwhelmed so I'm leaving that out of the ratings. Good, simply food and nice staff with a sense of humor that took care of us. read more

What's not to like? Great service! Easy parking. My food was delivered to the table within 7 minutes of me ordering!! I had the scrambled eggs with corned beef hash. The hash was not the best I had ever eaten but it was hot and crispy ! If you are looking for fancy breakfast, this place isn't it. But if you want a good diner type meal, come to Johnnys!! read more

In the area and looked for a spot for breakfast. Nice old school place. Friendly people, fast fresh service. Prices not to bad considering how much things costs these days. Eggs were nice and Fluffy. Bacon was ordered Extra Crispy and they gave a lot of bacon slices. Home fries were tasty with a bit of sweet cooked down onions which gave a nice taste. Tea was nice and warm. Friendly people didn't try to rush me out. Nice spot for a bite. read more

Johnny's Restaurant - 2 Scrambled Eggs, White Toast, Bacon Extra Crispy and Home Fries. - Diners Near Me - Fairfield, Connecticut

Food is great. Fast service. Friendly waitress. Only serves breakfast and lunch. Breakfast potatoes are the best around!

I chose this place based on Yelp reviews. Although I'd been recommended a different diner-type place, this one had fewer negative reviews. At 7:30ish on a Thursday morning, I was the first person to enter that day. I was met by what might be a husband/wife team, and was given my choice of seats. I ordered my go-to of blueberry pancakes, 2 eggs over-medium, and bacon, plus a cup of coffee. The coffee was better than most I've had in diner settings, but it wasn't top tier coffee. The food came out unsurprisingly fast. Eggs were cooked correctly, and the pancakes were large and fluffy. I had ordered my bacon crispy, and it was decent, but I do wonder what I would've gotten if I hadn't asked. With 4 large pieces, it was plenty. I was asked once for a coffee refill, which I took. I was in no rush to leave, and I wasn't asked to leave, but the check delivery and no 3rd refill of coffee made me feel less welcome. Service was otherwise fine...the server even struck up some casual conversation...it wasn't as cheerful as I would have liked, but some people try to find common ground in minor miseries. I'll give her credit for trying to be conversational. I haven't been out to breakfast too often lately, and never in this area, but I thought the price was a little steep at ~$27 not including tip (maybe that 3rd refill would have helped). I'd still recommend the place, but keep in mind my experience might have been different during a typically busy time. read more

No frills place with really yummy food. My husband had a turkey club sandwich which he said was "really good." I had a spinach feta omelet that was the best spinach feta omelet I have had in a really long time. The crinkle cut fries were awesome too. Oh, and they gave me extra butter if I wanted to add more butter to my toast. read more

Old school diner among a small group of stores with a parking lot on Post Road just off exit 22 on i-95. It's been there over 35 years and it may initially appear run down but it's better than typical diner food and the service is extremely friendly and helpful. If they could get a changing table in the rest room I might bump this review up further :) read more

Nothing fancy but clean. Authentic diner vibe. Friendly service. Simple menu. Great breakfast potatoes. Reasonably priced. We'll go back.

I ordered a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream and a side of eggs with cheese. It came to $23. That is so overpriced. That's ridiculous. And it was terrible read more

Consistently good food, Johnny is a pro on the grill. Patty the waitress is a pleasure. They have some of the best French toast around. read more

I found this place by accident and I'm so happy I did! It's tucked in a strip mall but it is such an old-world diner. Our waitress was sweet and most importantly, the food was amazing! I ordered the short stack of chocolate chip pancakes and they were delicious. And I was actually able to finish them! It was the perfect amount of food. I think this is my go to breakfast place in Fairfield now. read more

Stopped in for a hangover cure. Super friendly staff and food was delicious. Best, feel great now!

Old style luncheonette style so go for food not ambiance but we liked the throwback style. Simple food; we had pancakes and coffee. Pancakes were great , coffee was good. Bacon crispy like we refer but not crunchy. Nice people provided service. Better than some fancier diners and we'll return to try more on the menu. Good if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Johnny's is a cozy little diner tucked in small strip mall, I went last Sunday morning for breakfast with a friend around 10am. We had immediate seating and the service was very friendly and quick with coffee refills. My friend and I both had Western omelettes which were cooked well and the home fries were great. I would stop in again if I happen to be in the area for sure. read more

Two stars is a gift on this one. Food is terrible. Not fresh at all. It's very rushed when you eat. I ordered basic breakfast eggs, bacon and toast. The bacon came and it was over cooked and ice cold. I asked waitress could they bring some fresh bacon. She brought me back the same bacon heated up luke warm. The toast was not toast or basically luke warm. The slapped a tiny spec of butter on it. I will not be back. read more

And old fashion dinner in Fairfield with typical dinner offerings. A little bit of a trip back on time and really enjoyed the conversation as much as the food. I would recommend for breakfast. read more

Was a little skeptical at first by the looks of it . I was pleasantly surprised! The service alone was 5 stars , the waitress was so sweet and accommodating, you could tell she truly cared about the costumer. The eggs Benedict with hash was delicious a definite favorite of mine and they nailed it ! I definitely recommend for those looking for a breakfast spot they haven't tried . read more

Was in Fairfield CT and looking for a diner to grab a quick breakfast before heading back to grand central on metro north. Found this diner on Google and so glad we tried it!! A hole in the wall.. mom and pop kind of place. The quality of the omelette was amazing and not at all greasy. Not at all!! Very clean feeling food and hearty at the same time.. and that is a rare find!!! Love it. Will come back for sure. The waitress was also very very sweet. Cute older man chef. 10 stars. I keep going back to this diner. Don't expect too much and you'll be happy. Food is reliably good; service is good; staff is friendly and they make an effort to remember your orders. My favorite dish is the Western omlette. read more

This diner is my GO-TO diner!!! After you go there a few times, they even remember your 'usual' order. It's kind of a neighborhood secret I think. The place is not a big diner, but even when they look pretty packed, the wait is never too long. I like their eggs Benedict with home fries, add a cup of coffee to that and that's my 'usual'. read more

Great food and service. Friendly staff. Don't be deceived by how it looks from outside! Small place but definitely one of the best choices for breakfast. read more

Diner food the way it's supposed to be! My omelet (Johnny's) was chock full of everything good. The grits were REAL, not "instant". My wife's sautéed mushroom and spinach was cooked fresh, not frozen. Homey, "medium small" old time diner atmosphere. This goes on our "go as often as you can" list. Highly recommended. read more

We are visiting the area and I wanted to find a diner. Johnny's seemed to be the only highly recommend one in the area. We had breakfast there. The sausage omlet was excellent and the home fries were some of the best I've had. Coffee was very good. read more

This place is hidden away in a shopping plaza - easy to pass by and not notice it. It's one of those places where you could live in Fairfield all your life and never know that it was there! Great breakfast. Good basic lunch. Owners are sweet, friendly and the service is good. A kind of retro diner feel with the outdated decor. I like that. A real hole-in-the wall place with great food! I'm almost a shame to let out the secret! read more

Johnny's has been a neighborhood favorite for many years. The owners changed years back and it's still as good at it was many years ago. I absolutely love the homefries here (well done of course) and the bacon is nice and crisp. Great little spot to grab a coffee and breakfast. It's a small place and gets crowded on the weekends and early morning but it's worth a short wait if there is one. read more

Perhaps the best diner in Fairfield County....Nick has been doing this a long time and he knows exactly how to prepare the myriad of dishes available on his reasonably priced menu. While breakfast is their specialty here... daily $7 lunch specials come with a cup of his signature chicken-based soups (your choice of rice, orzo or noodle). This is truly a diamond in the rough easily accessible on the Post Road near the Black Rock border. Give them a try - your taste buds will thank you!!! read more

This is really a hidden gem. I've driven by this restaurant and never noticed it before. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. The food came really fast and was nice and hot. My family and I came as a pre-Mother's Day breakfast and we will try their lunch next visit. read more
