I came w/ my cousin from NYC around almost noon. We were around the area. We decided on diner food b/c they pretty much have a larger variety. Something for someone. The Waitress greeted us as soon as the hostess sat us. She gave us breakfast only menus. I asked for the full menu. I wasn't in the mood for breakfast. I ordered a turkey/bacon triple decker no lettuce or tomatoes add American cheese w/ hash browns(their's is shredded potatoes). It came w/ a pickle & homemade Cole slaw. I love homemade Cole slaw!I know I know some ppl. Think Cole slaw is gross but I learned to love it! Waitress was overwhelmed by my special order. She was waiting by herself & it started to get busy. She really needs help. Food came out in a bit (which I don't mind the wait b/c that means the food is fresh). Waitress forgot to tell cook I wanted American cheese. She then started to say I never ordered that. I told her yes I did. We went back & forth for a bit. She offered to give me a piece of cheese. I told her no I want it made in my triple decker. I don't want cold cheese that I have to put in myself when I ordered it. She came back a little bit later w/ my food. I hope they didn't do anything to it. The waitress came & apologized b/c she looked @ her notepad & I did order American cheese. She forgot all about it. Any hoot, food was good especially coleslaw! Inside was your basic diner layout. It was nice & clean. The vibe felt like I was @ home. Waitress was very friendly & couldn't be attentive b/c it got busy. I hope she gets help b/c I would like to be back & try more food. We stopped for a simple meal as we were on the road. Food was not good, service was very slow , that waitresses were just sitting at the bar hanging out, took over 15 mins to get the check. I ordered the Cali salad and unfortunately the salad was mostly brown old wilted lettuce, oh and I found a random slice of Swiss cheese in my non cheese salad. This diner serves up comforting vibes, delicious food and a friendly atmosphere....highly recommend it! I went again recently with my spouse and two family members, and everyone loved it. I ordered the Turkey Melt sandwich with coleslaw and a side of fries, an iced frappe (a Greek coffee on ice), and a carrot cake. Everything was fresh, fabulous and tasty! And our waitress, Christa AKA Chrisoula, was so wonderful -- she was very hospitable....she made us all feel welcomed, valued and right at home. Honestly, she went above and beyond, to make our visit special. We had Henny, as a waitress, in the past, and she was excellent, too. (I hope I spelled her name right.) When a place serves trash brand ketchup, it's clear they skimp on everything and don't care about quality. After noticing the Red Gold catsup on the table, and the pervasive sting of bleach in our nostrils, we thought about leaving but sadly didn't make that call. Since the diner is so close to the hotel we came here for breakfast , we came in & were seated right way. drinks to start OJ & Coffee not bad. On the food I had the Italian breakfast wrap very good nice tasting eggs , cheese & basil also comes with home fries not bad. Hubby had the Banana walnut pancakes , added some chorizo & eggs. Ridiculously overpriced. Adding turkey sausage to a 2 egg meal cost me SEVEN EXTRA DOLLARS. Adding a pancake to a 2 egg meal costs FIVE ENTIRE DOLLARS. Dining in these difficult days can be quite a challenge but what I like about this diner is that the dining area is very large and because it is it lends itself to being able to dine with plenty of distance between yourself and others. The staff is quick to seat you and take your order. The menu is classic diner menu. Usually my go to meals are pancakes, grilled cheese and sandwiches. I have not had a bad meal yet! read more

So I was post-call one day. Usually I'm not hungry in the morning, but on this day for whatever reason...I was ravenous...probably beginning to border hangry. Interior is classic diner. Nothing outstanding but not terrible. We got a cinnamon bun to start. It was room temp so it didn't have that ooey gooeyness that you expect from a cinnamon bun. Flavor was fine. I got a Western omelette added spinach. Not much flavor but it wasn't terrible once some tobasco was added. Took a while for our server to get us our bill so we were sitting for a while. The circle diner is a standard local place in a convenient location in Fairfield. We have been visiting this place for the 20 years we have lived in the area. The food here is always good, the services is fast and friendly. The restaurant is large and can accommodate groups pretty easily. On a recent visit I got the Greek salad with grilled chicken. Everything was very fresh and the chicken was cooked nicely. It is a large portion. The prices here are the only thing that keep me from giving the place a 4 star rating. I seem to always feel I have paid top dollar for diner food. Perhaps it is just my perception. If you're hungry and in the area you won't be disappointed in stopping. read more

Wanted to take wife out for a nice Sunday Brunch; but she opted for Circle Diner and wanted to 'eat light'. We were seated at a nice table, she ordered a salad and I had a simple turkey panini. A few hours later I experienced intense stomach pains at home; and suspected food poisoning. After a very long night and rough morning after, three pounds lighter but feeling OK. It is very rare that I give diners such high ratings but Circle is fantastic. I've enjoyed their food on many occasions and they have always been a favorite in my family. Their breakfasts are awesome. I like to order the Belgian Waggle with powdered sugar on top. It is utterly delicious. You can get breakfast here any time of day as is the case with most diners. They also have almost anything you could possibly want for lunch or dinner. Their menu is HUGE. More than anything on the menu though, what I really like are the staff who go above and beyond and that is so rare to find. As such, it is always a pleasure to dine here even though I do not get to Fairfield much. I would recommend them as one of the best diners in Connecticut. read more

When you think of Connecticut you think upscale. When you think of diners you think downscale but this little place on Route 1 managed to blend them both effectively. Very user friendly and short menu with a great selection of salads, panini's, wraps, sandwiches, burgers and entrees. The presentation was excellent and the quality of the food was very high from the panini to the veggie wrap. It a good basic diner. The portions are big and the meals are always good. It almost has the Greek diner thing going but then it doesn't. I love Greek diner's from my NYC and NJ days, so that is the only reason I rated this kind of low. I'm not crazy about regular diners but they do have their place. I've only eaten lunches there with co-workers but everyone seems to find something on the menu they like, so it is a crowd pleaser. It's a good place to go eat and be able to talk. There is no loud music or distractions. The prices are fair for lunch expect to pay about $10 to $15 with tip and depending on what type of drink you get. Walked in to a desolate diner with about 3 other tables being occupied. Was seated by a waitress who looked clearly disturbed that she was working, who told us our server would be right with us. Proceeded to sit there with my family for about 10-15 min with no waitress to come by to even as much as introduce herself. Best part was, during the time we sat there, 3 waitresses sat/stood by our table, no more than 10 feet away, shooting the sh*t and BSing. No one even acknowledged we were there. As we got up and walked out, the oldest waitress, who was sitting back in her seat that she had pulled to the right of the host stand because she didn't want to stand, said to one of the younger servers "that's your table leaving" with attitude. This is the same server that sat us, mind you, and the same server that went to check on her 2 tables on either side of us multiple times and never once said anything to us. Oh boy...... this WAS a place I really enjoyed when I first moved to CT.... after today I'm sorry to say I will not be returning. I thought I treat myself to breakfast.... I would have been better off getting McDonald's. I ordered French toast and asked the waitress did they use challah bread, no.... a thick Texas toast she said " but it probably doesn't have the same sweetness of challah bread"... OK.. so I get the French toast, and an omelette with spinach, tomatoes and cheddar.. and a large coffee.. the coffee had a really strong bitter taste... I drown it in sugar and creamer to fool my taste buds....the omelette was ultra dry and the tomatoes taste like Hospital hand soap.. the cheddar was M.I.A. The meal came with home fries that have seen better days..... Sorry... not sorry.... I paid my $18+ and tipped the waitress of course... but I will NOT return.... Oh but the icing on the cake.... someone decided that I could climb in my car through the trunk so they parked and blocked the drivers door..... wasn't a great morning. read more

This diner looks too new when you compare them with your average Connecticut diner. Matter of fact, I was kind of hesitant going to Circle's especially cause I brought a friend from England. I was determined to give him a good taste of New England. However that day it was proven that a new looking diner does not mean that it is a bad place to eat. My Grandparents used to lived a stone's throw away from the Circle Diner in Fairfield, it's been at least 30 years since I've eaten there. Well, I honestly can't recall how things were way back then, but I am sure the location is still the same. Everything inside is modern and clean, for a diner, it was inviting, a nice place to sit and eat lunch. I ordered "my standard" diner lunch fare -- a Ruben on rye. Was very good, I enjoyed it. Fries, coleslaw were also tasty. My fiancee didn't like her chicken salad sandwich as much as I had liked my Ruben -- said her homemade chicken salad was better tasting. Service was also good, bathrooms very clean too. We'd certainly drop-in again if we are hungry and in the Fairfield area. read more
