Ok maybe this review is cheating, but my wife and her friend took their daughters while I was at work and since I've lived in Oxford for 3-1/2 years but never been here asked for photos and feedback so I can leave a review. Good - Food was fantastic, portions were large, they were sat relatively quickly. Bad - Service was slow. After 15 minutes they had to ask the waitress if they could order drinks, which took another 10 minutes to arrive. I'd still like to be able to go for myself sometime.

Been coming here for years. I have always been more than satisfied on any meal that I have ordered. No matter how busy they are I always received excellent service. They deserve a five star rating.

We were looking for a light dinner before doing some shopping, so we stopped into Fritz's, which we were always curious to try. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but I couldn't help but be a little grossed out when we were handed menus that I watched come directly from another table of people, and they were not disinfected. I wouldn't usually be bothered by that, but with COVID being as bad as it is right now, I was a little skeeved. The pastrami Reuben and BLT were fine, and the menu was about what you would expect for a snack bar. We did order some fries on the side that looked like they were cooked in old oil, but they tasted okay. Overall, it was average here, and I would probably only come back to try breakfast.

If I could leave more stars, I would, after coming more than a handful of times, I can say the food is consistently delicious. The omelets and home fries are all so homemade and fresh. For the price as well, it's so reasonable and big portions. The staff really has everything under control and go above and beyond to accommodate since they're always so busy!!

I've been coming here since high school, and it's my favorite little local dive-diner spot! The staff is super friendly, the food is typical diner fare, and the atmosphere is very homey.

I've lived in Seymour for over 20 years, and today was my first time trying this place. After today's experience, I'm upset I never stopped in earlier. Unlike most diners, all the breakfast dishes are a la carte. They have a great breakfast and lunch selection of typical diner fare, minus the Greek dishes. The atmosphere makes you feel as though you're in a small Midwest town, it's cute, warm and friendly. I ordered a short stack of banana pancakes with a side of corned beef hash and home fries. It was clear as soon as it was served that everything is house made, even the french fries my son got with his blt, and everything was delicious. The portions were fair and the quality of the breakfast was superior to any diner in the area. The best part was the price. For what would have paid for 2 coffees and a tiny premade breakfast sandwich at Starbucks, we got a full breakfast and a full lunch! I have found my new go to breakfast spot!

This was my first eat at the Fritz's. The place was super busy. The customers I talked to were very friendly townies. I had a cod fillet and a coffee. $7.00. It was good. I plan to come back again, so you impressed me. I thought the waitress was nice too. I have to try the breakfast items next.

Breakfast special, with toast and coffee not pictured. 6$

She is so warm and inviting. She gave us menus but we mentioned we had just ate at Antonio's nearby so just wanted to enjoy a cocktail. We ordered a beer and white wine (excellent wine options). Great craft beers. We sat outside as relatively nice day, sunny but 45 F. We left but forgot to ask about happy hour. Called Maddie, wow, the HH was so great we decided to go back after visiting Southbury Falls ( watch out for ticks as we both found one). When we came back we tried the boneless wings. Not bad but the buffalo garlic parm aren't our favorites it seems. The chicken was so moist, crust perfect, flavor was just off. The service is 5 stars. Restaurant is gorgeous, perfect for a casual meal or special occasion. Inside they have a gorgeous fireplace as they also do on their patio. They also have outdoor heaters. We can't wait to return

It's a deep, dark red dusting of spices that delivers an intense, lingering heat that will test even the most seasoned chili-heads. Whether you want a quick snack or a full feast, they've mastered every vessel for their crispy, juicy chicken: * The Sandwich: A massive, hefty breast on a potato bun that is widely considered one of the best in New England. * The Wraps & Tenders: Perfectly fried and consistently juicy. * The Sliders: The perfect "middle ground" if you want to mix and match different spice levels in one sitting. The "Must-Have" Sides A hot chicken joint is only as good as its sides, and Haven's are legendary: * Homemade Mac & Cheese: This isn't an afterthought. It's rich, creamy, and features a perfect cheese-to-pasta ratio that acts as the ultimate cooling agent for your palate. * Banana Pudding: This is the "secret weapon" of the menu. It's authentic, layered with fresh bananas and Nilla wafers, and topped with light whipped cream. Many regulars consider it a "side" rather than a dessert because it's the only thing that can truly put out the fire of the higher spice levels! Haven Hot Chicken is a masterclass in balance. Between the crunch of the breading, the customizable heat, and the soul-warming sides, it's a 10/10 experience for any fried chicken lover.

He was very helpful with trying to figure out combos to get the most out of my money. The items are very pricey hence why I don't eat here often. A single chicken sandwich is almost $15 with a combo being a lil over $18. The manager where I usually hooks me up with lots of Rob sauce. At this location I just purchased a large which was $4. We had a great conversation while I waited. What a nice young man. My food came out in less than 10 minutes and it was nice and hot. I witnessed someone purchasing 2 large box orders and their's came out fast as well. This was my 1st time getting the Wrap Snack and a side of coleslaw. I tried medium- Hotter Than You Think, it wasnt super spicy. The wraps came with 2, so I saved one for dinner. The one I ate was yummy, though I wish it had more chicken. My last bites were all tortilla. The chicken was crispy and the cheese really paired well with it. The coleslaw was well seasoned, not sweet and had good size pieces of veggies. You could see the onions and celery. I tasted all the layers of love. My son The Sandwich Combo per usual. He always gets the same thing. My only complaint is the seating was uncomfortable. If you could afford it, I highly recommend you check them out lol.

"WELL, WE GOT RIPPED OFF…read moreAGAIN!" he was right at the front counter and began scolding the two employees as someone had come in and picked up the wrong order. He was angry to the point that you could feel it coming off of him. My daughter and I were both afraid to ask for anything special because he might've Flown off the handle at any moment. He continue to grill the employees on whose fault it was as he made our sandwich. It was then discovered that he was the one who had handed the bag to the wrong customer. Things got pretty quiet after that. It was uncomfortable and embarrassing, and we couldn't wait to get out of there as soon as possible. The food is good, but we've had a few order issues when we've done an online order and picked up food. My daughter has celiac and they gave her the wrong bread on her sandwich when we specifically asked for gluten-free and were charged an additional three dollars for the gluten-free bread. I will say upon our complaining to the store owner about the error on the online order, we did get a refund on that mixup and she did receive a coupon for a free sandwich as well. I do like the sandwiches but feel it's better to go in and order directly to avoid any errors. However, a little afraid of the angry man behind the counter. Not gonna lie.

The Bronx Deli - Eggplant Grinder

"No matter where I go I know where I came from…read more From the Bronx" (Jennifer Lopez) Trivia Time! Q: Name the only New York City borough that's part of the United States mainland? A: The Bronx! Besides Jennifer Lopez, the Bronx may be best known as the birthplace of Hip Hop music, Arthur Avenue Italian bakeries and grocery stores, Yankee Stadium and the NY Yankees. It sure looks like the owners of Oxford's ''The Bronx Deli" are Yankee fans, because their sandwich menu has over 20 choices named after Yankee stars or baseball in general, plus hundreds of NY Yankee photos on their wall. Some of the sandwich names are The Yogi with chicken and eggplant, The Babe with turkey and pepperoni, The O'Neill Deal with ham, sopressata, salami, and provolone, Bern Baby Burn with chicken, hot peppers and mozzarella, and the coolest one -Robbie Cano, Don't Ya Know with Roast Beef, American cheese and red peppers. We wanted to pick up something to have for dinner last night and decided on a Goodfella grinder ($10.99) with Eggplant, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, oil and garlic, and a side of tortellini salad with peppers and sun dried tomatoes. The grinder was terrific -a big loaf of perfect Arthur Avenue bread, plenty of fresh eggplant and mozzarella slices, and nice marinated red pepper slices. (Pro Tip - the Goodfella doesn't include marinara sauce -if you want that order an Eggplant Parmesan sandwich). The tortellini salad was very good as well, plenty of pasta and tomatoes in a balsamic dressing. Our grinder and side totalled just $17 -not bad for a dinner for two. We dealt with two employees. The young lady who rang us up was a sweetheart -super nice and much more engaging than the young man who made our sandwich. As a former Bronxite myself, I loved visiting the Bronx Deli and checking out the photos on the wall. My favorite was an autographed picture of Yankee royalty taken at an Old Timers Day -Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra and Casey Stengel. All are Hall of Famers. Go check out the Bronx Deli if you're either a lover of Italian food, a Yankee fan, or both.

Five stars forever for the homerun grinder. It's my favorite hot grinder of all time. That is all.read more
