Bacon jalapeno mac and cheese is as good as it sounds
    S Nicole M.

Random roadside stop for a bite to eat turned into a delicious discovery. I had stopped for gas on a recent road trip and this very unassuming place was right next door. This spot is clearly a local favorite. Lots of folks ordered their fried chicken which looked super crispy and meaty...and their grilled cheese. I opted for an Italian grinder which was loaded with fresh meat, lettuce and tomato. Was not expecting Mayo with the oil and vinegar as a condiment. I think I would have preferred it without the Mayo but it was still outstanding. The service was quick and friendly. There were so many tasty treats in the case from salads to dessert. I did grab a jalapeño and bacon Mac and cheese on a whim and I'm glad I did. So good! There's no place to sit inside but there are picnic tables just out front. This spot exceeded my expectations and is definitely worth a very minor detour off the highway.

Sausage Egg & Cheese Sandwich - Gluten-Free Roll

Love this place. Just had an incredible egg sandwich on a gluten free roll. Didn't realize they make them in house until after I ordered. It was awesome! Super convenient location too.

So this turkey wrap is $9.60

Been coming here for years sadly not coming here anymore. All I wanted today was a bologna and cheese on wheat. Not the fault of the staff but no bologna. Ok, I will have a turkey and cheese on wheat, no wheat bread. This is where I ended and cost me $9.60. It literally was all wrap and three pieces of turkey. If you are looking for a major let down and disappointment give it a try.

Sorry but this was one of the most tasteless bagels I have ever had. It was supposed to be an everything bagel but it tasted like hard bread. The filling also didn't have much taste which was sausage, egg, and cheese. The service was fine however the food could have been so much better. If I am ever in that area, I would prefer to find a Dunkin or somewhere else to eat.

My husband and I are in the area for a weekend getaway and wanted to find a nice place for a date night. We chose Vyne after looking at their menu, which appeared elevated and unique. Pros and Cons below but the spark notes are: Nice atmosphere, good service, bad (and expensive) food. Pros: *The atmosphere is nice. Slightly elevated, beautiful decor, very nice bar area, and the outdoor area is a vibe. *Service was good. Our waitress was kind, efficient and helpful. *Our cocktails were great. Delicious, not wildly overpriced, and fresh. Cons and the reason why I could not recommend going to this restaurant: Overall the food was wildly disappointing, especially at this price point. We paid (with tip and 2 cocktails each) $250 for food we couldn't finish it was so poorly cooked and prepared. * Surf & Turf appetizer (24) - interesting and fresh spring flavor but the shrimp (a main component of the dish) was overcooked. * Scallop entree($44)- Scallops were not cooked well. They were very rubbery, chewy and bouncy. I left two on the plate. The flavor profile was also heavily oil. * Side of Mac&Cheese - now, I have NEVER not finished mac&cheese, it's my absolute favorite food and a treat for me to order. This mac&cheese was so bad that we had 2 bites and didn't finish. For a $9.50 side I would expect something interesting. Maybe a baked dish? Or three cheeses? Anything than what we got - which was shell pasta (undercooked) and a cheese sauce (similar to a Velveeta). There was also a strange aftertaste, almost like a spoiled milk. Besides that aftertaste there was absolutely no flavor. * The Filet Mignon ($52) - maybe the most disappointing of all our dishes with a theme of badly cooked and no flavor. Asked for it cooked medium rare and closer to the rare side - it came to us as a solid medium. The steak didn't seem to be seasoned at all. No flavor. The potatoes had no crisp and absolutely no flavor. There was a generic BBQ sauce on the plate. With no salt and pepper on the table (on purpose with the expectation that everything would be flavored perfectly) it made absolutely no sense to finish a dish that we could make better at home. A truly disappointing meal that we couldn't finish, paid $$$$ for and had to stop at fast food on the way home from because we were still so hungry. I don't review often but I needed to because this is an expensive restaurant for what it is, and I want to make sure people know what they're getting into. Maybe we just went on a bad night, but we won't be going back to find out.

It's that good. Food quality/price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is classic family friendly diner. I stopped here after I just happened to pass by while headed to a friends house and decided I could eat some breakfast. I'm very happy that I did. The place was bustling on a Saturday morning and I was probably lucky to get a seat at the counter. By the time I had finished breakfast, there was a waiting line out the door which is always a good sign. The owner and Griddle Master, Peter, and his wife Stephanie, have operated this diner at this location for more than thirty years! I had the breakfast special of two eggs, HOMEMADE CORNED BEEF HASH (like striking gold), homefries, and bakery fresh rye toast - incredible! Probably the best breakfast I've had in years, seriously. The corned beef hash was properly crispy, as were the homefries, which rarely occurs at most diners even when requested. There were at least five people keeping the customers happy, and the staff and customers were all friendly and talkative. That is a bonus found only in small country towns like Southbury, a small New England postcard quality town right off Interstate 84 exit 15. If you're looking for a truly old time experience that is rare these days, run here as soon as you can. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed! I will be bringing the wife back very soon. GPS was not my friend on this trip and the signage was a little hard to see, but we found it after only driving past it once. The hostess stand and dining area are just to the left, through a doorway when you enter the building. Reservations are suggested and after visiting today, I can understand why. Even with a reservation, we were seated by the bar/party room. Unfortunately, it made hearing my mother-in-law almost impossible to hear. Besides the loud music and even louder chatter from the attendees at the baby shower, we were constantly interrupted by the partygoers. I had to move for people going through the doorway, making room for large gifts and a woman's walker. At one point, we were even by a family of party guests to take a picture standing by the doorway and a decorative tree. The group grew and I had to leave the table to make room. So, why 4 stars? The staff were amazing and the food was even better. The ladies at the hostess stand were pleasant and our waiter was very friendly. My Tipsy Leprechaun Martini was brought by another cordial server. Our drinks were brought quickly, orders were taken, and our meals were delivered quickly. I ordered the Oscar Benedict with crabmeat and asparagus served over polenta with a side of homefries. My mother-in-law chose the Classic Benedict also with the homefries. We were both impressed with the presentation of the meals, the portion size and the seasoning of the homefries. The crabmeat ratio to the portion size was perfect. The eggs were made correctly and the sauce was bright and not too heavy. I would definitely give the Brunch House a second chance, but maybe ask for a better seat.
