Location is great, right off the highway. Looks like it would be standard gas station food but it's not. Some of the best , fresh fried chicken I have ever had. And all sorts of nice freshly made salads such as potato, Cole slaw, etc to go with it. No indoor setting but I think a picnic table? When traveling and passing through, always stop. First time here! I had the chicken salad with walnuts and grapes in a spinach wrap, my husband had a hot honey pulled chicken in a spinach wrap, and we tried the fries. I live 30 minutes from pattys, so it's an hour round trip. A few months back I called and asked if they still had chicken for the day, they said yes, only to arrive and they didn't have it. I let it go. Gas is very expensive now, I called saying I live 30 mins out and asked if they had chicken. They said yes, I get there and it looked like they were cleaning up for the day at 620. They tried to say they had it 30 mins ago but wouldn't you think to say we are low and it may not be here ? Anyways this has happened twice, if I didn't call it's my fault. Patty's is a gem for locals and highway travelers alike. Here is my list of go to favorites. Fried chicken has to be number one! I order the tenders for my Mardi Gras theme party every spring. Second favorite is the Chicken Apple Walnut salad. The surprise tang of the grapes is phenomenal! Random roadside stop for a bite to eat turned into a delicious discovery. I had stopped for gas on a recent road trip and this very unassuming place was right next door. This spot is clearly a local favorite. Lots of folks ordered their fried chicken which looked super crispy and meaty...and their grilled cheese. I opted for an Italian grinder which was loaded with fresh meat, lettuce and tomato. Was not expecting Mayo with the oil and vinegar as a condiment. I think I would have preferred it without the Mayo but it was still outstanding. The service was quick and friendly. There were so many tasty treats in the case from salads to dessert. I did grab a jalapeño and bacon Mac and cheese on a whim and I'm glad I did. So good! There's no place to sit inside but there are picnic tables just out front. This place is just off I-84 and despite its rather unassuming vibe the food is excellent. I was on my way to Southford Falls Park and stopped by for a bite. We were headed to Southford Falls State Park and found this deli as we exited off I-84. There is a wide selection of sandwiches available as well fried chicken so it took awhile to settle on an Italian cold cut grinder. Overall the grinder was good, but pricey given the limited amount of meat that was included. Currently there is no inside seating so most orders are taken to go. The BIG QUESTION IS HOW DOES THIS PLACE GET 3 STARS??? Worst Fried Chicken I have ever tried to eat. I say tried to eat because it was THAT BAD!! Overcooked, oversalted, basically terrible!! In addition we bought Cole slaw and Red potato salad. The cole slaw was not good and the Red Potato salad was worse. They used dried dill and way too much. Plus the service was poor to midling. I am so disappointed when this happens! Tons of great reviews about how magnificent food and staff are, and we didn't get that experience at all!!! Went there on a Sunday and it wasn't busy. we ordered a fried chicken meal. Girl at the counter was so busy rushing, paid no mind to request we made about pieces we wanted. Packed the boxes and gave us no ketchup for fries and had to go back and ask. So customer service for us was not great....time to discuss grub. Chicken honestly was super moist-that's it-no flavor as a matter of fact, oil it was fried in tasted old and proved to be hours later when it repeated on the husband. Cole slaw was absolutely disgusting...doused with what I believe to be Miracle whip and nothing else. Fries and that fried baked potato were just ok.
