Had a lovely breakfast today with the family for a birthday. Nice menu options with some good specials. Enjoyed the Ecuadorian chorizo breakfast plate. There was a French toast kielbasa plate with poached eggs and Hollandaise that made my daughter happy. Their Bocca bread is very nice and goes well with all the options. My wife enjoyed the crab cakes with hollandaise. Wait staff are friendly and attentive, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. read more

First-time visit for me, but my friends had long been patrons of Leo's. Your met by a welcoming and friendly staff, and our coffee and tea came quickly and hot. I appreciate that our server and the hostess came by regularly to refill our cups. I ordered the eggs Benedict and fruit. The eggs were cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. The English muffin was toasted just right. Man, I enjoyed that breakfast. The ambiance was nice. We had plenty of room. I can't wait to return. read more

I've reviewed this place before but it's just so amazing, I had to leave another. I always joke with my family that the "wheel of fortune" waffle will be my last meal. It's just that good! The waffle is cooked to perfection, the raspberry yogurt sauce is delicious and the fresh fruit is always perfect. I don't even use syrup with this waffle. Can't wait to return next time I'm in the area!! read more

Exceptional service. Delicious food. Ridiculous serving sizes - truly fit for a king as they advertise. Beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend. read more

Loved this place! The people are great and the layout is nice. Classic small town charm where everyone knows everybody. The menu items are creative (especially if you have a sweet tooth!) They accept cash or credit which was nice since I was on a business trip. Other places nearby are cash only. I don't have a sweet tooth so I ordered things kinda plain but it normally comes with whipped cream and a sweet berry sauce on it. read more

We came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The restaurant has a very warm comfortable vibe. The staff is friendly. The menu is super interesting. The food is solid. We were party of four. We started with the eggplant fries, which we all enjoyed. One of us got the pastrami on a knish with cheese. We also got the watermelon salad special. There was an order of the raspberry bread French toast, and I got the shrimp sandwich. The knish could've been crispier. It was a bit soggy. The sandwich also could've been crispier. The Salad was really good. I would definitely come back to see about other items on the menu. read more

Absolutely Delicious Food, had eggs, pancakes French toast pretty much everything on the menu over 3 days with 12 ppl. Everyone loved it. Extremely friendly staff, sold a cute little stuffed lion for my kid. The environment is super homey and has funny cute decorations all over. Lion them is cute and festive but not over the top. Clean bathrooms, great portion size. HUGE WIN in my book! read more

Impressed! Service, quaintness, and food all delivered! 4 moms took 7 teens to breakfast. They provided us (without asking) a private room upstairs. This was perfect for our group so the girls could all walk around and take their pictures. We had so many people checking on us. Food was prompt but never rushed! We were able to linger on the room as well. Coffee and water were already on the tables when we arrived which was a pleasant way to begin. Try the fresh squeezed orange juice- it is so good! I ordered the breakfast pizza with bacon and I LOVED it. I was full until 6pm! And even then I was barely hungry for dinner. The prices are good. I can't wait to go back- this definitely became my favorite breakfast place with their Elaborate and creative menu! There are so many options I wanted to try! Instagram @date_night_craves read more

Closest thing around to a solid diner in the area. Hot fresh coffee all day long, hearty breakfast's, salads huge enough to share and delicious homemade desserts, something for everyone including a very affordable kids menu! Service is a tad spotty when they are jammed packed, overall friendly and accommodating. Good amount of parking and the little shops in the plaza are neat to check out. Besides that little blip, we frequent at least weekly due to the great food and overall cozy vibe! read more

We came to the area for something else and decided to have breakfast here after reading reviews. When we arrived the place was packed. However, it is very disorganized. The hostess is not visible to whom walks in, they are dressed the same as customers, they aren't behind a booth or anything just out in front of a dessert display window... very hard to tell who the hostess were and customers were. After observing for awhile we finally figured out what was going on and we put our name in. The wait time was quick for the busyness of the restaurant. Our waiter was very helpful. The food came out super quick. For my allergenic friends, there is no GF/DF/EF/PF options. I had to make my own plate of just home fries and sausage but if your celiac do not risk it, I'm paying the price. Another thing, this is a pretty big place, there's tables to the left, a small book to the right, seating outside, and seating upstairs and I only seen one bathroom. (Not sure if there was another one upstairs but main level only one. The decor reminds me of a diner, bench seats... Food: I had sausage and home fries. Sausage was good, but my home fries came out some cold, some warm. My fruit bowl was delicious ! My husband had the Belgian waffle with strawberries and ice cream, he said it was really good but the waffle was a bit greasy. Not sure if it's a place I'd return to. read more

What a lovely dining experience I had here! When you're traveling, it can be difficult to find anything close to a home cooked meal, but Leo's delivered!! I stopped in for breakfast two days in a row, and each time was delicious, wholesome, and just flat-out wonderful. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and creamy, the French toast was delightful and the portions are fit for a king! I rarely leave food on the plate, but I just couldn't finish all of this delectable goodness. Thanks, Leo's!! You started my days off right!! read more

We happily stumbled upon Leo's while looking for a casual breakfast on a Monday morning. We immediately felt the warmth of Leo's cozy dining area and menu filled with comfort food. The raspberry and apple raisin French toast was pillowy and delicious. The omelette was heavily packed with fillings. We left with joyous bellies and happy to have found a new local eatery! I came here for breakfast on a Monday morning with my husband. Upon entry, we were greeted by a friendly staff member and seated right away. We both started off with a hot cup of coffee - I opted for the pistachio, which was simply delicious. After browsing the menu, I decided to order the Eiffel Tower (apple cinnamon raisin bread French toast with bananas and whipped cream) with a side of home fries. I really enjoyed my French toast - the bread was so good and the portion was just right. The only reason I took off one star was because it seemed as though my husband and I were forgotten about - he had to find someone to eventually get our check. Despite this, I would like to dine here again for breakfast if I'm in the area. read more

Excellent breakfast and lunch spot. Hearty quantities, well prepared. Worth a short trip. Down to earth cooking and friendly service.

Leo's has been a favorite of ours for many years. They are very consistent and when you go here you k ow you are going to leave satisfied. They have the typical breakfast offerings, but always have something "Special" to offer! They offer twists on old time favorites such as a "Jack Benny" or Green Mountains. These are their take on eggs Benedict, that are eggcellent! All breakfast comes with fresh fruit or it can substituted with home fries. Restaurant is comfortable, the staff friendly and attentive, and the food very tasty and presented well. Definitely a breakfast treat when you go here! read more

We went on a Tuesday morning for breakfast; it was a delightful establishment with a great team of individuals who provided terrific customer service. They had a great selection of food all around. The food was delicious and very filling, even brought home leftovers. I would highly recommend it for breakfast & I would definitely return to try lunch and dinner. The dessert they showcased also looked delectable; that is definitely on the list for next time. read more

Came to eat the chicken salad sandwich. They didn't have it because it was Sunday. So if you are not serving certain foods on certain days then you should mention that in the menu. They also didn't served mozzarella sticks as aperizers. The place is very hectic. The tables are super close to each other. It's when your driving and it's a bumber to bumper ride. The staff is meh, not so impressed and disappointed with the lack of food off the menu. read more

I just tried the chicken Gustavo. I was able to switch up the mixed vegetables and potatoes for pasta. I asked for extra pasta sauce to be added to it. The staff was very polite with adjusting my request. I was not able to pay for it ahead of time but when I picked it up it was quick. Leo's isn't stingy with the sampling of food they give. It was a decent meal at an okay price. The taste was good and the amount I received was surprising in a positive way. I would recommend enjoying a meal at Leo's. We're from out of the area and even with phone navigation had to hunt to find the place -- even had to call the restaurant so they could guide us in. But the search was truly worth it! Had a great breakfast: delicious banana waffle and marvelous blueberry pancakes, everything cooked just right. Plus, they had our favorite topping: real maple syrup (available for a small additional charge). Service was perfect: warm and friendly and attentive but never intrusive. Ambiance was delightful, just what we needed before starting a long trek home. No question, if we lived in the area we'd be regulars. read more

Lived in Southbury for 25+ years and did not visit Leo's until we had moved away and returned for a visit. Had a great lunch. No idea they served breakfast all day. I enjoyed the potato pancake special with bacon and scrambled eggs. Eggs were absolutely perfectly cooked. Pancakes crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Husband enjoyed the meatball sandwich on Bocco bread. Very affordable. read more

The real action is on the Leo's Famous Breakfast Specials page of the menu. While the Sweet Dreams (like a peach melba, but make it French toast) was super-tempting, I went for a Jack Benny, which made me happy. My grandmother would have served this with a defiant expression about the ham, if she'd been better at making potato pancakes. This is not one of your delicate benedicts, softly humming along to Vivaldi's Four Seasons. This is a brash, in-your-face benedict, and it's awesome. I enjoyed every bite and appreciate that it comes with fruit to moderate its excess. These were terrific potato pancakes, too. Now, looking at the online menu, I'm eyeing those knishes (Grandma made one, once) speculatively. There are some efforts with pastrami that I may also need in my life in the future. (Am now looking for places to go that require passing through Southbury...) Staff is great, ambience is roughly diner-casual. It's in a little New England village-style strip mall, so to park, you do down the side street into the parking and kind of sneak up on it. I went at a slow hour and am glad I did, as it's fairly small. read more

What a nice surprise this restaurant was. Staff is great. Food delicious. We 're from out of town and went to Southbury to explore. Last week my friend and I were at Leo's twice. The corn beef/pastrami on knish was divine on Monday and the Kitchen Sink breakfast on Friday was unbelievable. We're still in shock! A huge platter full of delish breakfast foods. I even had the pumpkin soup which was the best ever. The next day my husband happily feasted on the leftovers. read more

Service was a bit lacking. But the food was great. Prices are very fair for the quality and quanity of food.

Finally, we had a day off together and I was able to get my hubby who grew up on knishes to Leo's to try a Knish meal and he loved it!! We will definitely be back again soon! But this visit I absolutely loved the pumpkin soup!! As always the service was friendly and atmosphere is always calming when running around doing errands! I worked in Southbury years ago, and Leo's "Chicken Boca Sandwich" was my go to!! We were recently in Southbury and decided to stop by for the nostalgia. The sandwich was delicious as ever, but the center of my chicken was not fully cooked (hence the 3 stars). So I ate around the center, and made the most of it. Recommendation: ask to cut the chicken in half before they cook? Otherwise it was awesome. read more
