Wheel of fortune
Devan K.

I've reviewed this place before but it's just so amazing, I had to leave another. I always joke with my family that the "wheel of fortune" waffle will be my last meal. It's just that good! The waffle is cooked to perfection, the raspberry yogurt sauce is delicious and the fresh fruit is always perfect. I don't even use syrup with this waffle. Can't wait to return next time I'm in the area!!

Loved this place! The people are great and the layout is nice. Classic small town charm where everyone knows everybody. The menu items are creative (especially if you have a sweet tooth!) They accept cash or credit which was nice since I was on a business trip. Other places nearby are cash only. I don't have a sweet tooth so I ordered things kinda plain but it normally comes with whipped cream and a sweet berry sauce on it.

We came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The restaurant has a very warm comfortable vibe. The staff is friendly. The menu is super interesting. The food is solid. We were party of four. We started with the eggplant fries, which we all enjoyed. One of us got the pastrami on a knish with cheese. We also got the watermelon salad special. There was an order of the raspberry bread French toast, and I got the shrimp sandwich. The knish could've been crispier. It was a bit soggy. The sandwich also could've been crispier. The Salad was really good. I would definitely come back to see about other items on the menu.

Cute restaurant with interesting menu options. Apple cider mimosa was good, as was the food- especially the French fries! Staff were attentive and quick. Prices were very reasonable as well. A good family friendly spot.

Impressed! Service, quaintness, and food all delivered! 4 moms took 7 teens to breakfast. They provided us (without asking) a private room upstairs. This was perfect for our group so the girls could all walk around and take their pictures. We had so many people checking on us. Food was prompt but never rushed! We were able to linger on the room as well. Coffee and water were already on the tables when we arrived which was a pleasant way to begin. Try the fresh squeezed orange juice- it is so good! I ordered the breakfast pizza with bacon and I LOVED it. I was full until 6pm! And even then I was barely hungry for dinner. The prices are good. I can't wait to go back- this definitely became my favorite breakfast place with their Elaborate and creative menu! There are so many options I wanted to try! Instagram @date_night_craves

We came to the area for something else and decided to have breakfast here after reading reviews. When we arrived the place was packed. However, it is very disorganized. The hostess is not visible to whom walks in, they are dressed the same as customers, they aren't behind a booth or anything just out in front of a dessert display window... very hard to tell who the hostess were and customers were. After observing for awhile we finally figured out what was going on and we put our name in. The wait time was quick for the busyness of the restaurant. Our waiter was very helpful. The food came out super quick. For my allergenic friends, there is no GF/DF/EF/PF options. I had to make my own plate of just home fries and sausage but if your celiac do not risk it, I'm paying the price. Another thing, this is a pretty big place, there's tables to the left, a small book to the right, seating outside, and seating upstairs and I only seen one bathroom. (Not sure if there was another one upstairs but main level only one. The decor reminds me of a diner, bench seats... Food: I had sausage and home fries. Sausage was good, but my home fries came out some cold, some warm. My fruit bowl was delicious ! My husband had the Belgian waffle with strawberries and ice cream, he said it was really good but the waffle was a bit greasy. Not sure if it's a place I'd return to.

Closest thing around to a solid diner in the area. Hot fresh coffee all day long, hearty breakfast's, salads huge enough to share and delicious homemade desserts, something for everyone including a very affordable kids menu! Service is a tad spotty when they are jammed packed, overall friendly and accommodating. Good amount of parking and the little shops in the plaza are neat to check out. Besides that little blip, we frequent at least weekly due to the great food and overall cozy vibe!

I love Leo's. The food is delightful. The atmosphere was generally the norm for a diner/breakfast/luncheon place. The service was prompt. I'd definitely check this place out if you're ever in the Southbury, CT area.

We happily stumbled upon Leo's while looking for a casual breakfast on a Monday morning. We immediately felt the warmth of Leo's cozy dining area and menu filled with comfort food. The raspberry and apple raisin French toast was pillowy and delicious. The omelette was heavily packed with fillings. We left with joyous bellies and happy to have found a new local eatery! We look forward to exploring Leo's lunch and dinner menus.

Eiffel Tower with a side of home fries
Melissa T.

I came here for breakfast on a Monday morning with my husband. Upon entry, we were greeted by a friendly staff member and seated right away. We both started off with a hot cup of coffee - I opted for the pistachio, which was simply delicious. After browsing the menu, I decided to order the Eiffel Tower (apple cinnamon raisin bread French toast with bananas and whipped cream) with a side of home fries. I really enjoyed my French toast - the bread was so good and the portion was just right. The only reason I took off one star was because it seemed as though my husband and I were forgotten about - he had to find someone to eventually get our check. Despite this, I would like to dine here again for breakfast if I'm in the area.

Service was a bit lacking. But the food was great. Prices are very fair for the quality and quanity of food.

It's that good. Food quality/price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is classic family friendly diner. I stopped here after I just happened to pass by while headed to a friends house and decided I could eat some breakfast. I'm very happy that I did. The place was bustling on a Saturday morning and I was probably lucky to get a seat at the counter. By the time I had finished breakfast, there was a waiting line out the door which is always a good sign. The owner and Griddle Master, Peter, and his wife Stephanie, have operated this diner at this location for more than thirty years! I had the breakfast special of two eggs, HOMEMADE CORNED BEEF HASH (like striking gold), homefries, and bakery fresh rye toast - incredible! Probably the best breakfast I've had in years, seriously. The corned beef hash was properly crispy, as were the homefries, which rarely occurs at most diners even when requested. There were at least five people keeping the customers happy, and the staff and customers were all friendly and talkative. That is a bonus found only in small country towns like Southbury, a small New England postcard quality town right off Interstate 84 exit 15. If you're looking for a truly old time experience that is rare these days, run here as soon as you can. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed! I will be bringing the wife back very soon. Closed Mondays.

GPS was not my friend on this trip and the signage was a little hard to see, but we found it after only driving past it once. The hostess stand and dining area are just to the left, through a doorway when you enter the building. Reservations are suggested and after visiting today, I can understand why. Even with a reservation, we were seated by the bar/party room. Unfortunately, it made hearing my mother-in-law almost impossible to hear. Besides the loud music and even louder chatter from the attendees at the baby shower, we were constantly interrupted by the partygoers. I had to move for people going through the doorway, making room for large gifts and a woman's walker. At one point, we were even by a family of party guests to take a picture standing by the doorway and a decorative tree. The group grew and I had to leave the table to make room. So, why 4 stars? The staff were amazing and the food was even better. The ladies at the hostess stand were pleasant and our waiter was very friendly. My Tipsy Leprechaun Martini was brought by another cordial server. Our drinks were brought quickly, orders were taken, and our meals were delivered quickly. I ordered the Oscar Benedict with crabmeat and asparagus served over polenta with a side of homefries. My mother-in-law chose the Classic Benedict also with the homefries. We were both impressed with the presentation of the meals, the portion size and the seasoning of the homefries. The crabmeat ratio to the portion size was perfect. The eggs were made correctly and the sauce was bright and not too heavy. I would definitely give the Brunch House a second chance, but maybe ask for a better seat.

The menu hit all the right notes. I had the chicken honey mustard panini and it was delicious, plus bonus points for real side options (yes to the onion rings). My wife went with an omelet and potatoes and was more than satisfied. The vibe was warm, homey, with a couple of fireplaces going... perfect on a chilly, overcast day. And a shout-out to Dana, our attentive server, who kept things moving without ever feeling rushed. The kind of place you're happy to linger in.
