I found this deli while searching for a new to me place to get a BEC. I'm so glad I did. Easily my favorite in the entire area. The rolls are brought in from Neri's Bakery in Port Chester NY. Like any other sandwich, the choice of bread can be make or break. Besides being wonderful food, the staff is always welcoming and will remember your order from your previous visit most of the time. My first time here after seeing a City video of local businesses. Plus I have been trying out local delis for to go lunches and this one was on my list. Place is tiny but clean. The owner plus 5 employees were working together to get orders out the door. The menu is pretty standard however their selection of breads was the largest I have seen with different types of rolls plus subs, wraps & all kinds of breads. they use Boars Head meats which is good. Can't get sick of roast beef if you have it on a different roll or bread every day. I am not a big beef eater but I did order a steak & cheese on a Portuguese roll. I also ordered a Milano on a Portuguese roll which is grilled chicken breast with roasted red peppers, jack cheese, mayo and lettuce. It took a little time for my order which is fine considering they are both hot sandwiches made to order. The owner did acknowledge that they would be ready soon. Really it was only a few minutes and I wasn't in a hurry. The staff was very friendly. The counter girl acknowledged me even as she was taking an order from another customer and the owner kept me posted on my order as it was being cooked. Another staff who was putting chips in the display told me about the multitude of chip flavors (at least 10) and one of the cooks packaged up my sandwich with a very friendly eye. I brought the sandwiches home for me & husband which were still hot and delicious. We split them so that we each got to taste both of them. While my Milano was put on a sub and grilled like a panini, instead of a Portuguese roll, it was really tasty and I got to try two types of the fresh breads! A reputation built on overstuffed sandwiches, fresh selections, and friendly service. During lunch time, you will find many contractors and business people alike flocking to this small deli tucked away in a strip mall. Why? Because of the quality. (I've seen the same staff each time I've stopped in so you know they are making items the same each time). I chose three sandwiches and got a medium tray along with two large salads and 6 waters and 3 2 liter sodas and a dozen each of brownies and cookies. Delivery arrived a bit ahead of schedule but it was fine. The credit card info was taken down incorrectly on the phone but they can take your card and pay in person. Total came out to be around $125 with $10 tip. This was plenty of food for 10 adults. The service was friendly and on time. The sandwiches were very meaty and delicious. Cookies and brownies were also amazing. The only sandwich that my colleagues did not like was the amanda chicken salad sandwich. For context, I got a cheesesteak with peppers and onions on a sesame seed roll. The ingredients were mixed perfectly so you got pretty much a perfect bite, every time. Every bite seemed a bit more magical than the last. When I finished the sandwich, it was with mixed emotions. Similar to when you finish an incredible book or film; so happy it happened, but sad that it's over. If you live in Milford, you're lucky. The chef is welcoming and nice, they obviously care about their customers and support the neighborhood. I saw them giving away food for somebody in need as well as welcoming the Milestones team in their effort to support an young adult in need to socialize. The negative aspect of my experience was the terrible smell inside the facility, I could still smell the grease on my jacket half an hour after lunch. The food is really good, large quantity as well. This used to be my favorite deli in town, until they stopped serving on weekends, stopped listening to simple order notes, and although they say they deliver until 2; if you call after 12:55 they will either say the drivers car broke down, no delivery today, or any other excuse they can come up with. I order a simple tomato, salt and pepper, and fresh mozz on a roll with light balsamic and oil, panini'd on a roll, and it either comes with field greens, super super soggy (beyond edible), or not panini'd at all. For a very simple sandwich she would think that it would be a very simple result, but it is not. We used to order from them every weekend and at least twice a week and now we got them once a month at best. They are so capable of being a great deli, and sandwich shop, as they once were a year ago when we first moved to Milford, but things have declined at a rapid pace.
