I've been to this 5 guys a few times in the past. There are rarely any flaws with my meal or the actual place itself. I am native to this area and last night I just wanted a quick bite to eat but with better quality meat then a McDonald's or something. I got the Little Bacon Burger which I forgot to take a picture of since it was that good. I also got a small fry, which always comes which more than enough. Unfortunately, they were a little bit more on the crispy side. In the past they were a bit less hard/crispy. My partner got the grilled cheese and said it was very good. The milkshake I had gotten was just favorite part. I was a bit skeptical of getting one this time but I'm glad I did. It was candy crunch mixed in with Oreos. The service was amazing. Our order was took fast. Our food took a little longer than expected but they did have other customers! The ambiance and the environment was calm. It was a rainy night and not many came to dine in. I had a hankering for a hot dog today. I didn't feel like driving to the (overpriced) hot dog place I might normally stop at, so I went to this Five Guy's. I bought a cheese dog (for almost 8 bucks!!). A small fries (for 5 bucks!!) and a small iced tea. I left the counter with a $17.85 bill. Now the pricing here is bad enough, but the dog I received was barely warm and had 2 slices of American cheese on it that were about halfway melted. The fries were salty, hot and just like I like them, but they couldn't assuage my anger at how terrible the hot dog was. Long story short, I will not be going to five guys again. I been coming to this location since it first opened. It was one of first five guys in the area to open. I have always been a big fan of five guys. They only do hand full of things and do it well. However this visit was not a good one... Issue one: The place was moderately busy yet our food took 32 minutes. I know because the women who took our order said 8 minutes and my son timed it because things like that are a game or a challenge to him so we had exact time. More importantly I got severe severe food poisoning after this meal. I have only been sick like this 2 or 3 times before. Other distinct time was eating raw Arctic shrimp. I tasty but risky endeavor. But a Hamburger and fries should never never make to sick from food poisoning. Very very sudden sharp abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, other GI symptoms. I am almost certain it was the Mayo. Two boys with me were fine but they did not order Mayo. Stay away, if you also get sick from here report it. Clearly management is slack based on the incompetence getting the orders out and now likely how the food is handled. Sad I love five guys everywhere I go and this exact place was my first experience with five guys. I tried to report the sickness to the national number but got run around from some call center that was clearly not in the USA. I literally order one grilled cheese and a milkshake from them at least once a week. However, I just want a strawberry milkshake. Easy right. Hard no. Well somehow they always make it difficult. For some reason this location, and this a location only, only lists chocolate or vanilla. Yet, I call, EVERY TIME, asking for a strawberry milkshake. The man answers, speaks so politely and attentively, yet every * single * time the milkshake is vanilla. What's the point of doing the whole song and dance on the phone and then just deliberately ignoring a simple modification. Just add a strawberry button for the milkshake so we can actually get what we want which is a pink, strawberry, milkshake. Since you make it seem like we as customers are bothering you by adding an extra ingredient into a milkshake, you should find a new job. This one ain't it. Over and out. Legit never again, just add a button. It's wild to me that you're fighting me on this. Do your job, add a button, it's a simple request. I'd heard about the awesomeness of Five Guys before but never experienced it until today. I saw a big billboard off I-95 telling me that Five Guys was off the next exit so I ignored the McDonalds and drove into a strange town full of strip malls. After going further than I thought it'd be, I found it! Super busy but the line moved fast and there were always a couple of open tables. Free peanuts?! Awesome! I got myself a cheeseburger (not realizing there were two patties) with mayo, tomato, lettuce, grilled onions and mushrooms (yay, free toppings!). And a regular order of fries. The burger was juicy and delicious, fulfilling my cheeseburger craving (something which those huge, tasteless pub burgers never seem to satisfy). Nothing can beat Shake Shack but Five Guys is definitely a good second option. Their fries are fresh and pretty good but get soggy too quickly, especially if you're eating them all by yourself. Warning: They give A LOT of fries. I think I managed to eat half my regular over the course of a couple of hours (while driving with way too many delays). This all cost me about $9. Best burgers around, hands down! The burgers at Five Guys are better than Plan B, Prime 16, or any of the other chain burger houses in the area. They have lots of toppings available so you can build your burger the way you like it. The fries are really good too and a "large" fry order can feed a large family! The shelled peanuts offered free are a nice touch to hold you over while you wait for your order, but who cares, because you didn't come here for peanuts, right? There are only two negatives here. The first is that there is no liquor service. A burger this good screams for a craft beer! The second is the packaging. Even when you "dine in", they wrap up your burger in tin foil. I may be getting picky here, but I would prefer to receive it on a plate, even if it's only paper or plastic. The burgers are definitely worthy of better presentation! Stopped in for lunch with LW on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. I'll say right off the bat, the meal was decent. The burger was OK with an excellent selection of toppings, and the fries were very good, though not as good as you would expect hand-cut peanut-oil fried fries to be. A very good burger for a chain place. I have only been to the one in Orange though I've heard that the one in Avon is a little bit better. The first time I ate here I made the mistake of ordering a "regular" burger which was two huge patties. It was way too much for me but still so good. The "junior" is just the right size for me with only one pattie. You can customize your burger with a list of fixins. The fries are awesome but no matter how hungry you are only order a small, trust me. They put the fries in a cup in a brown paper bag and then fill up the bag with more fries. This one has a very spacious seating area, so a good one to come to with a group. I'm guessing they're not going to redo the ceilings, so can't they just turn down the music that's contributing to the cacophony? Five Guys was such a huge deal when it first came to this location and thankfully they've more or less kept up their good reputation with the folks in the area. The only major concern I have here is the incredibly fast turn over of staff. I know everyone's dream job isn't to flip burgers (though if they were, I imagine this would be a great place to start versus McD's or BK), but every single time I come here, the entire staff has completely turned over. Pros: All of our burgers came out perfectly, our fries were cooked well, and in general the service was efficient. Cons: Dining room was not clean. Tables weren't washed down - I saw more than a few people wiping down tables left dirty so they could sit. Service was very loud and rowdy with each other, and therefore didn't take much notice to customers. I felt like when we arrived I was inconveniencing them because they had to stop their conversation to take my order. I have no problem with a jovial and friendly staff - often I find those that are more tight knit do a better job overall - but the attitude I received from the woman who took our order and her body language were a clear "Could you please hurry this up so I could get back to my conversation?" It was rude, but thankfully as noted above, everything came out perfectly. If you're looking for something quick where you know the quality will be consistent, go here. It's usually around $10 a person with a drink and fries, but the few extra pennies is well worth it as compared to McD's or BK in terms of quality and quantity. I had really high hopes for this place, as my girlfriend's brother had said that it was like In N' Out, a treasured California burger stand. The burgers were tasty, and large (the regular burger had 2 patties, and the junior burger has one). And to be honest, I have made better ones. The fries are tasty, and they give you a TON of them, which ultimately, unless one order is shared by at least 2 people, is a waste. The cajun fries are good, but their cajun seasoning is heavy on the white pepper, rather than a nice balanced blend of spices. One thing that was very good, was the bacon-cheese hot dog, however, it was over $4 for a hot dog..... I mean.. it's a hot dog... those are baseball stadium prices. That, I believe was the ultimate downfall of this place. While the food is good, it is very expensive for what you get. We ordered one regular cheeseburger, one bacon-cheeseburger, one bacon cheese dog, two fries and two drinks and it came to be just under thirty dollars. Compare to In N' Out in CA, where the same meal (minus the hot dog) can be had for much less (around $12), and in my opinion, is a better burger.
