I walked in close to 12:30pm on this "Fat Tuesday" February 17th and was quickly greeted with a smile and genuine hello. I ordered the 1 Waffle and 3 Chicken Tenders with a bottle of water and a Starry Soda. The cost was just about $15.00. When I received my order and went to sit down at one of the tables, I noticed how many customers were coming in for takeout instead of sitting down. Which is all good because within the hour or so I was there, 20 customers had came and went, smiling with enthusiasm about the delicious food they were about to enjoy?? I must say that the waffle was hot and fluffy and oozing with flavor from the melted butter and powdered sugar sprinkled on top. This is rivaled my homemade version of Belgians. The tenders were hot, juicy and crispy and were turned up a notch when I dipped into the hot sauce and mustard sauce. I also took an order home for my sister to enjoy. read more

Just can't go wrong with this spot! Had chicken and waffles again last night and so delicious! I did notice that instead of changing prices they've lessen their portions, but the flavor and crispiness is still on point! My mom had the fries whiting with fries and that was also very good! Seasoned well and crispy! The fries were delicious too! We additionally ordered two of their lemonades and so far tried the passion fruit one which was phenomenal! read more

What can I say. This place hits the spot. Chicken came fresh. Waffles always fluffy. Walked in to good fretting and vibes. Asked to wait a bit as the food was freshly prepared. Nothing in my plate was sitting on the shelf (warmer) Typing now before food coma. Check em out! If just for a big chain chicken alt. Sweet hot sauce is a lil gem in a cup! Don't be like me, originally thinking it was watery ketchup. Smh read more

Best place for fried chicken in the valley. It's a hidden gem. Plenty of parking and always open. They aren't busy but have a steady customer base. The food is fresh made to order so you do wait a little bit for food. Chicken tenders, Mac and cheese, and everything else was to die for. Different lemonade drinks to choose from. Look for the ice boxed cake in the cooler. Anyone from the valley knows ice box cake means business! Will definitely be visiting again. read more

Dope spot, especially after a long night of drinking. Open late - the perfect place to get your fill of hangover-curing food.

Was craving some fried chicken, so decided to try this spot out! I ordered the 3 piece tender meal which comes with one side, I choose the mac and cheese. Also had to get a side order of mashed potatoes and gravy! The sides were ok. Not nasty but not wow! The chicken was really good. Moist and great flavors! I also enjoyed the 2 sauces it came with. The red sauce was delicious! read more

$1.99 for a clip of extra dressing. Leave it at that. Pure trash. Lol. I wouldn't order this for my worst enemy. The food is oversalted late night to the point of being inedible. These people suck. read more

Pleasantly surprised with everything. Food was delicious. Ordered late night during the week and still amazing

Since this place has turned over to new management, the food is delicious. I went out late to get something to eat and I decided to get the catfish platter. Although the fish looked liked tilapia, it was fried to perfection. I ordered the two piece fish with fries which I could not eat all of it, but it was good that I could not stop eating. I had to make myself stop eating even though I was full. The employees are always nice. read more

I would have given this place a 5 star but the delivery driver through Uber Eats caused them to lose a star I was hoping the they would follow the instructions where to leave my food but failed at it. The ambiance I can't speak on since it was order for delivery. I never heard of this place and since it was meatless Monday I thought let me check them out and I even added them to Yelp as well. I am very happy with the order food wise the fish was fried fish not frozen like most places sell the separate a certain way. Very nice sized had the 3 pcs with homemade Mac and cheese cute containers for the Mac and cheese. Love the packaging for food safety purpose. Everything was there the way I ordered the next time I will definitely try the banana pudding but as you know with these delivery the prices are higher than the regular menu. I would recommend and was impressed read more

Southern Chicken And Waffle - Fried Fish 3 pcs with homemade Mac and cheese - Chicken Wings Near Me - Derby, Connecticut

Why is their catfish so good?!? Added the creamy Mac & cheese and some coleslaw (a bit too creamy). Next morning, put the leftover catfish pieces in the oven to crisp, and added eggs, grits and toast! The catfish has an amazing breading that stays crispy, and the fish tastes amazing. You don't expect it, but it is very delicious. I'll be picking up fish to add to dinner again - salad and a baked potato? read more

Write up days seafood, but they only have chicken and lamb, and a limited selection of that. While the chicken and lamb may be good, have not yet tried, very disappointing listing for seafood and menu choices. read more

I recently moved to the area and stumbled upon this place on a whim I can honestly say I eat there at least once a week. The food is sooo good and it's made fairly quickly. The establishment itself is pretty clean and they're open super late which is a plus. The chicken is also approved. 10/10 for me read more

We ordered through Uber eats so we didn't deal with the customer service aspect that seems to be an issue. The fried chicken, corn nuggs and chili cheese fries were great. Chicken was moist and breading was crisp. This is what my wife and son ordered. Unfortunately I ordered the boneless buffalo wings. When I opened the container I thought that they had sent me potato wedges. The chicken was so dry it was inedible. No sauce, no blue cheese.... nothing. Totally shot my meal. read more

Even thought they forgot my hot sauce on my chicken rice platter, the food is always good. One of the best chicken sandwiches around

My husband and I love the Talipa. It is delicious with the fries. That's the only thing we have tried besides the cheesecake. Always quick and hot! Friendly people. There's always people in there too! Give it a try read more

I'm gonna keep it real with you here. Under new management and newly rebranded, Crown Chicken N Waffles is now indisputably the king of the bustling fried chicken scene in the valley. I take back every negative thing I ever said about this place. I ordered the 4 piece chicken with a waffle. The skin was crisp, the chicken juicy, and the waffle was a dream. Also, the service was stellar and none of the employees looked or smelled sketchy. The game has been changed. Crown Chicken N Waffles is going to make me very fat and I can't wait. Try it out. read more

Whole wings....delicious, well-priced, and cooked up by pleasant and attractive men. A winning combination! This is the spot.

Ordered from here for the first time. I got the chicken over rice and salad with white sauce. I ordered the sauce on the side but it came on the food. No problem as the white sauce was a nice ranch type dressing. The chicken was small like it was ground with onions and peppers so you got some in each bite. Nice. It was a very large portion. I have a big appetite but only ate half and saved the rest. I'm looking forward to trying some other menu items. read more

I am usually pretty happy with fellow yelp reviewers' assessment of a restaurant but I think this place needs more yelp reviews, so here it goes. We got there around 7pm on a chilly Friday night and there was one person in front of us. The guy took his order quickly and got to us sooner than we were ready. We needed some time to look over the menu and he was pretty nice about it. Once we made our decision, we gave him our order of 10 pcs of fried chicken (mixed) and 2 pcs of catfish and we wanted to swap the combo of 2 slices of catfish + french fries $6.49 with sweet potato fries. Originally the guy said he'll just charge the difference between the fries which was ~$1.50 but he ended up charging the two items separately causing it to be $0.50 more. Not a big deal but unexpected given it's different from what he said he would do. The catfish was freshly fried so took about 10 min and we were fine with that. The chicken was under the heat lamp and ready whenever. We got the food to go since the place was completely empty. Total of those 3 things were ~$24.50. After we got home, we dug into our food immediately. The catfish was awesome. 2 large pieces, well seasoned, and crispy and still hot. The sweet potato fries got a bit soggy due to the 10 min drive but still ok. The chicken was where we had issues with. The chicken breast pieces seemed to be half of what KFC or Popeyes give. It's small and as a result of being cut in half, the meat is dry. The dark meat pieces were pretty good but slightly salty for me. The drumsticks were also smaller than the other two fried chicken chains. Did we get a weird left-over batch?? We will definitely go back for fried fish but not for the chicken. read more

The Crown Chicken on Division street has the best fried chicken in the nation that I've had so far! I'm from Mississippi visiting relatives in Connecticut, were there for 5 days, we had chicken every night. The hours are convenient. The owner was so nice and the customer service was superior. Everything was cooked perfectly! You will not be disappointed! Go today!! read more

Very cravable fried chicken, I love the sweet potato pie. My wife loves the potato wedges. Great deal for $11.99 for ten pieces of chicken. I grew to love Crown when I lived in Harlem at 151st and Broadway. And it's definitely a craving I get. I feel like it's better there with more turnover. read more

Stopped by tonight to get some chicken because this place is open late and I'm home from school, for the next few days. The chicken was fresh and tender, though a bit greasy. I don't mind some extra grease now and then, but that might not be everyone's favorite. The regular fries weren't very good, so skip those. Not sure about their other sides, however. Based off of the chicken alone, I would 100% visit again! read more

This is one of the best spots for food. I've ordered here during the day and late at night (was there around 3:30am last night actually) - and the quality is consistent throughout. I loved the chicken over rice, its an instant classic. During lent, my family always orders catfish and tilapia from here since its so good. Lightly fried, crispy and well seasoned. Yesterday, i tried the falafel on pita for the first time and it was amazing! A classic style falafel on a large piece of pita with lettuce and white sauce drizzled on top, which is one of the best ways to enjoy it. Falafel tasted great and the pita bread actually held all of the ingredients together. The service and staff are always nice and quick. They even gave me some extra white sauce when i asked for it. Pricing is fair but still really affordable. I have the choice of having food at McDonald's or this place since they're right down the street from each other - but this is an easy pick for me. I always enjoy the food here and I look forward to ordering many more times from here. read more

Yum! Best fried chicken in the valley! Maybe only second to the extra crispy chicken at rival, KFC. But the chicken is really good! The crunchy skin! The juicy tender meat! So good! Also they make the chicken when you order it so you know it hasn't been sitting out all day like other rival chicken places in the valley. I mean, that means it will take awhile to cook, but it's honestly worth it. They also have fried seafood which both rival chicken places don't have! The popcorn shrimp is really good! I usually get that over their oddly colored, but delicious rice! Yes, don't let the color of their rice scare you, it's really good! The staff is nice too. Especially the owner! He always has a big smile on his face and is very friendly. The hours are really convenient too. They stay open so much later than the competition! Which is good for night owls like me. read more

Easily the best fried chicken I have ever had (and I live for fried chicken)! Super crispy outside and juicy on the inside. All the sides are delicious as well. Their menu is extensive with seafood and chicken and the price-point is out of this world! There's a Popeyes and kfc in the area and I don't think twice about going to crown. Not to mention they are open late daily. Worth more than 5 stars! read more
