Don't judge the restaurant by the plaza it is in. They are doing the best they can by being the most colorful thing in there by far. Trust the very good ratings they have. Everything we had was very good and we had plenty on our plates with the lunch special, so I imagine you have to be starving to be able to consume the dinner portions. The soup that came with most of the specials was very tasty. Pro tip: throw some of the white rice in it and stir that bad boy. The tres leches were very moist and delicious, especially the maracuyá (passion fruit) one. The service was decent. The drinks took a little long to arrive from the first order and the question on how we want the thin steaks cooked was a bit puzzling because they are typical Latin cuisine thin steaks so there's no much meat room to work with but otherwise it was good enough. Whenever you are in the Orange and Milford area, if you are hankering for some Latin food, pop in!

    Really good flan!!

This place is wonderful. The service is excellent! Mina was lovely! I had the flan and coffee. So good! The restaurant is big and clean with good music. There's a dance floor too. Highly recommend! It's in a strip mall on busy Post Rd, so you can find a lot of parking.

Empanadas: not too salty, very nice crispy. The corn is a bit on the thicker side, but it does not ruin the empanada, left to preference. Great comfort food, Bubbles drink: tasty, great strawberry flavor without tasting too artificial or sweet. Still, very much on the sweet side. Their signature drink was very good! I didn't know how I would feel about it looking atth3 ingredients since I'm not a big beer drinker, but it was surprisingly light and refreshing. I liked it more than the other drink! The soup was just out of this world. I shared this dish with my husband, and it's definitely enough to share but I would definitely be able to eat one by myself if I didn't have anything else to eat. It cane with a side of rice and salad. The broth was sooooooo good. I hope they find a way to incorporate this into the daily menu

This was a very authentic tasting spot! I ordered the mini bandeja paisa and it tasted identical to when I traveled to Colombia!! So good!! It came with choice of steak, sausage, or pork belly (I got steak and pork belly), rice with sunny side egg, avocado, arepa and beans. Very filling dish. If you picked the non mini version you would get all 3 meats. I ordered a strawberry kiwi margarita which was a flavor I don't often see and it was made just right, enough liquor and flavor. Ended with a traditional tres leches and that was pretty good also. Fast and attentive waitress. The interior decor was nice too, there was a huge mural on the wall that showcased the Colombian culture.

The food was delicious and Service was great. The waitress was very friendly and made me and my family feel so comfortable. The fish was fried to a golden perfection and the plantain with the meat was seasoned deliciously. I would recommend this place for sure and will be coming again soon

A cockroach right in the seat in front of our meal!! Yikes

This place at first look seems nice but should be closed for business! We were enjoying our fairly portioned meal when, we start seeing cockroaches in the booth in front we were seated, I brought it to the server attention and she did nothing and right before paying I requested for the manager that way he can see where the roach was, as we show him the picture and to our surprise he never apologized for the inconvenience of exposing us to eat at a place with roach problems. My boyfriend took a pic and we will definitely report this restaurant to the department of health because I had never seen cockroaches in a restaurant while I'm eating at. Now I feel sick to my stomach to think how that kitchen would look like

A solid choice for Latin food here in CT. We got the weekend special seafood soup. The broth completely blew us away. It has a strong but clean shellfish flavor. Inside you will find a generous amount of white fish, shrimp and mussels. The shrimp was cooked perfectly (plump and juicy) which can be hard to find. The mussels were not my favorite - many of them didn't open during cooking and even if you manage to pry them open the mussel itself was tiny. I think their main purpose was to flavor the broth - a purpose they fulfilled quite effectively! On the side comes white rice and a salad with tomato, red onion and avocado. The salad had some kind of homemade lime/oil dressing which was super tasty. We also tried the empanadas. They are quite inexpensive and would make a great compliment to some drinks. The empanadas had a crispy exterior - they were clearly cooked to order. The chicken was better than the beef in my opinion. They were not too salty which is a huge plus. I can't say the same about the fried chiccaron but, hey, what did you expect!? Don't forget to order a fresh juice smoothie (get with water, not milk. Trust me.) The Columbian coffee was quite good and a necessary pickup after a comforting meal. Overall this restaurant was great and we will certainly be back.

Food was delicious, service was friendly. We came on a Sunday late afternoon, before the dinner crowd came. We also ended trying the coco lemonade, equally refreshing and sweet. You can tell it's a place where lots of families come here to eat as well! Would definitely come back to try more items. This was our first round with Colombian food.

I have passed this place many times, and today to celebrate Fathers Day with my husband and our family, decided to give this place a try. Easy to get to since it's on the main road. Great parking. The entrance is nice and decorated. There was no wait because we ate there just in time for lunch. The seating area is open with a good amount of booths and tables. Our waitress was very friendly, and attentive. Family friendly for sure! The menu items all looked absolutely mouth watering delicious. We ordered the maduro con quest for an appetizer. All I could say is yummy! I had ordered the bistec a caballo which is excellent and 10/10 recommend if you're in the mood for steak. Cooked to medium perfection. The sauce on top was muy delicioso. The salad is very fresh, and their dressing was very tasty. My husband ordered the carne asada. He said "wow this is really good, but I should've ordered what you ordered". Haha. I'm telling you the sauce that was on top of my steak was very juicy and the steak absorbed those juices very well. I had a guava smoothie to drink. Tasted very fresh not canned. Their kids menu is ok, but would like to see more foods kids like to eat. My son got the tenders and fries. He said they were good, but how could you mess that up really. Overall great place to eat Colombian food! We will back!

This review is not the easiest for me to write. I have been coming to the Little Columbian…read morerestaurant since 2015. I loved this place, their food was fantastic and the quality was super consistent; an excellent spot to get together with friends or a date. So much attention to detail was paid, house made dressing, salsa, all ingredients were super fresh, the meats were always cooked excellently, and the staff was friendly. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a while but at some point in the last few years the Little Columbian restaurant became My little Columbian restaurant. My friends and I went there for dinner at the end of October, there was one couple that was leaving the restaurant but we were the only ones there when we first walked in. The vibe of the restaurant has changed because they changed how they decorated the interior of the restaurant. I prefer their older vibe but no big deal. Our waitress was nice and very attentive all night and the staff in general was quite friendly. Here's my issue, the food quality is not as good as it was in the past. And if they are going to charge along the same lines as what they have, always been on the pricier side, then the quality should still be at the same level. There were a bunch of little things that added up. To start, the salad I ordered didn't have the same quality of greens (I think they used a spring mix in the past), there were some small bits of core in the salad. More to my disappointment the Salad dressing was no longer the house dressing they used to make it was Ken's balsamic dressing, which generally tastes like diabetes syrup. Maybe it was an off night for the salad and I could live with that but the lack of the old house dressing was disappointing. Speaking of cutting corners, the chimichuri used to be super fresh and of good quality ingredients. The chimichuri this time around had a lower quality olive oil and the parsley was dried instead of fresh. My friend ordered some empanadas, which were partially burnt and again the slasa wasn't the same quality as they used to make with the empanadas. For an entree, I ordered Bandeja Columbiana. The chicharon was a bit overdone but ok enough. The chorizo was probably the best part but you have to try to mess up chorizo. The maduro was kind of dry and somewhat bland. The chicken was a touch rubbery and the steak was fine; nothing to write home about. As I had mentioned before the food wasn't terrible, it was fine enough but it was not worth the price it cost. Much worse is the fact that the quality in general just isn't the same as it had been prior, maybe they just had an off night but something tells me this is how it is now. It's too bad this restaurant isn't quite what it was; it used to be one of my favorites.

Great food. Acceptable prices. In a sneaky little corner of East Haven. Would recommend to friends…read moreand family. Will go again. Be prepared to order in Spanish.
