Sacco is very nice find, a very flavorful authentic Colombian cuisine. We got seated at the bar area and enjoyed the vibe as we savored the delicious empanadas, bandeja paisa, cazuela de mariscos. The service was great, a very friendly and knowledgeable waiter who gave us great recommendations as well. I am definitely going back and highly recommend Saoco.

It was my first Columbian restaurant! Was very excited to try something new. The restaurant is very clean and nice. For my entree, I ordered Carne Tampiquena con camarones - sautéed beef and shrimp in a spicy sauce. Rice and sweet plantain. It also came with a side salad. I ordered a side of beans. It was delicious! I loved the beef. It has a vinegar taste which I love! The flavors were perfect. Everything else was tasty as well. My friend ordered Picada- chorizo, morcilla, steak, chicharron, tostones, yuca, arepas, and fries. He loved it. The yuca was so yummy! The portion sizes are great! We each ordered a drink and had an issue, but we just let it go. The service was not good. We enjoyed ourselves and will return.

Disappointed today . We were around the area and decided to go to Saoco. We have come here before and it was delicious and couldn't wait to Come back. Today, I don't know what happened. Las Empanadas weren't t crispy, barely had any meat and had mainly potatoes in them. If I saw meat in my empanada, I was lucky . My dad ordered Churrasco con chimichurri. Great size of steak and big. My dad ordered it medium rare. When he received it it was tough and chewy and was very very rare. Definitely needed more cooking. And 1 piece of yucca. I think they forgot to add more. 1piece ?! I Ordered la Bandeja, and I wasn't impressed. I'm Not sure what was going on in the kitchen today. Not all that. . The restaurant was pretty busy around 230ish on a Sunday. It's definitely a great place but today the food just wasn't all that.

My husband and I have discovered this gem in West Haven recently. The minute you walk through the door, you know you're going to have good food as the aroma fills the space along with the Latin music dancing off of the walls. The waiter tells you he's going to bring some water for the table and asks if we'd like anything else to drink. The menu has plenty of options for food and drink. If you've never tried it before and do like soda, ask for a Colombiana, which is a sweet and fruity soda from Colombia. The food was awesome, and didn't take more than about 20 mins to come out. The flavors are rich and very authentic to the culture. I'm speaking from experience here since my husband is Colombian himself. Loosen your pants and prepare to fill yourself up on deliciousness... We ordered the cazuela de mariscos which is a seafood stew in a creamy base that compliments the perfectly cooked shrimp, mussels and squid. The patacon is a plantain fried, smashed flat and fried again and is awesome with just about anything you put on top of it (my favorite being guacamole), and we also got the sancocho de res which is a beef soup/stew that is packed with flavor and a pleasant amount of cilantro that leaves a "homey" feel in your mouth. This is Colombian comfort food for sure. The best part is that this place is very affordable with most plates being in the $20+ range, so you're not breaking the bank and will go home very satisfied!

We ordered five beef empanadas as clearly stated on the receipt. We received five chicken empanadas and did not know that until we drove away. The empanadas are also half the size of what they used to be. The ceviche was like watery soup with very little vegetable and shrimp in it. Quite a disappointment from what it used to be.

Saoco is definitely a family favorite! We love bringing our friends here or just stopping by for dinner. Saoco is super accommodating when it comes to all of our large gatherings! Every meal is always so fresh and staff is always the nicest! Although I love everything here My favorite dish is the grilled salmon and Avacado salad with rice! They put their own twist on the seasoning for the salmon and it doesn't taste fishy at all! Drinks and appetizers are also great here! I will continue to come here and recommend Saoco!

Came to Saoco Colombian Restaurant tonight for a fundraiser benefit with some friends. The atmosphere was really cool, live music, vibrant staff, two full bars and fun people. The food was totally authentic and really amazing! Fresh, delicious, and flavorful. Definitely worth stopping by. Empanadas were light and crispy, full of meat. Stew was moist and flavorful with authentic flavors throughout. Awesome spot!

The food was amazing again. Ordered chicken empanadas to start. Like heaven in a little pocket. For an enteee I ordered bistec with onions, rice and beans. What I love is that everything looks great and tastes even better. The service is always 100%, very attentive and kind. Comfortable setting, spanish music playing quietly in the background. Can't wait to come back

    Sancocho De Res

Food was delicious. We had sancocho de Res (beef soup) and some empanadas - we are from NY and have lived in Connecticut for 10 years and have had a hard time finding good Colombian food especially good empanadas! The service was perfect. Great location, great ambiance, clean and good music. Definitely coming back! Thank you!

We ordered a small one with guacamole and a larger one that included tostones, yuca, and arepa. Everything was delicious, especially the chicken, steak, and chorizo meats. I'd definitely suggest this place for good food. The only downside was that the game kept stopping due to a internet poor connection, but that didn't take away from our overall enjoyment. I was really disappointed with my visit to Sabores Orange, which took over what used to be La Fonda…read moreColombiana. La Fonda was a great spot -- authentic food, warm atmosphere, and always fresh. Unfortunately, this new place doesn't live up to that standard at all. To start, there were no English menus available, which made ordering confusing. During my visit, I actually killed three flies inside the restaurant -- and there were several more buzzing around. That alone was a bad sign. The food didn't redeem the experience either. The calamari was over-fried and far from fresh. The dish with ground beef was literally ground into a dust-like texture -- completely unappetizing. The beans were cold, and the empanadas were hard, stale, and clearly re-fried; they even had an unpleasant taste. The mango juice, which I hoped would save the meal, was also a miss. Overall, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. I won't be coming back. Whatever happened between La Fonda Colombiana and Sabores Orange is truly disappointing -- the old restaurant was far better in every way.

This review is not the easiest for me to write. I have been coming to the Little Columbian…read morerestaurant since 2015. I loved this place, their food was fantastic and the quality was super consistent; an excellent spot to get together with friends or a date. So much attention to detail was paid, house made dressing, salsa, all ingredients were super fresh, the meats were always cooked excellently, and the staff was friendly. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a while but at some point in the last few years the Little Columbian restaurant became My little Columbian restaurant. My friends and I went there for dinner at the end of October, there was one couple that was leaving the restaurant but we were the only ones there when we first walked in. The vibe of the restaurant has changed because they changed how they decorated the interior of the restaurant. I prefer their older vibe but no big deal. Our waitress was nice and very attentive all night and the staff in general was quite friendly. Here's my issue, the food quality is not as good as it was in the past. And if they are going to charge along the same lines as what they have, always been on the pricier side, then the quality should still be at the same level. There were a bunch of little things that added up. To start, the salad I ordered didn't have the same quality of greens (I think they used a spring mix in the past), there were some small bits of core in the salad. More to my disappointment the Salad dressing was no longer the house dressing they used to make it was Ken's balsamic dressing, which generally tastes like diabetes syrup. Maybe it was an off night for the salad and I could live with that but the lack of the old house dressing was disappointing. Speaking of cutting corners, the chimichuri used to be super fresh and of good quality ingredients. The chimichuri this time around had a lower quality olive oil and the parsley was dried instead of fresh. My friend ordered some empanadas, which were partially burnt and again the slasa wasn't the same quality as they used to make with the empanadas. For an entree, I ordered Bandeja Columbiana. The chicharon was a bit overdone but ok enough. The chorizo was probably the best part but you have to try to mess up chorizo. The maduro was kind of dry and somewhat bland. The chicken was a touch rubbery and the steak was fine; nothing to write home about. As I had mentioned before the food wasn't terrible, it was fine enough but it was not worth the price it cost. Much worse is the fact that the quality in general just isn't the same as it had been prior, maybe they just had an off night but something tells me this is how it is now. It's too bad this restaurant isn't quite what it was; it used to be one of my favorites.

They have only been open already for 1.5 months. So, today my dad I went to grab a bite specifically at the Arepa food truck.I have been waiting for this moment !! Lol! So happy we did because it was delicious plus always glad we can support! I had an Arepa Rellena( beef) and as extras I added cheese and aguacate. Toppings are extra charge. My dad also ordered an arepa rellena but added cheese and sweet plantains to his . Arepas and Tequenos will come with a side of sauce with It. I wish they had an option on the menu where they had arepa that had everything on it for toppings with the option of chicken or beef and then also keep the other options as adding it separately for those who prefer that way ! So on to the drinks.. we both ordered Chica which is a creamy drink made out of white rice and tastes just like ( Arroz con leche estilo Colombiano ) rice pudding Colombian style. Soo good , it's like dessert but to drink! And my dad had tequenos which I couldn't have since they weren't Gluten-free but he definitely enjoyed eating those cheesy fluffy fried doughy deliciousness of goodness very much! Las arepas were very filling , we didn't wait long for them to come out either . The only thing is that my beef arepa did have some pieces that were kind of cold. No major issue , just wish it was all evenly hot . But that's an easy fix! The food was fresh, flavorful, tasty.. and it definitely filled us up. I just love arepas! The gentleman that greeted us( the owner) was so nice and very friendly!! Must say lunch was really good today!! Check them Out ! Now I know where to go for a stuffed arepa!
