The food was alright. The pork was dry and did not have much flavor. The rice and pork were most likely not freshly prepared. The order did not come with plantains but it said it was supposed to come with it. I requested no beans but I still wanted plantains. Not worth the $25 I spent on this. read more

Loved the delicious food here! Great service with the food. The menu is a treasure trove of Colombian classics. I ordered the bandeja paisa, a dish that was as indulgent as it was flavorful--perfectly cooked beans, succulent chorizo, and a fried egg perched atop it all. The empanadas were golden, crispy perfection, and the ají sauce added just the right kick. I had been at this place a couple of times before, but after a year, I returned, and it was a disastrous experience! The food completely lost its quality; everything, absolutely everything, was horrible. I apologize for expressing myself this way, but ended up throwing everything in the garbage, and since I live an hour away I couldn't come back to return it. The chicken tasted reheated and old, and the rice with beans also had the flavor of being stored for several days. The meat they gave us was simply chunks of fat. I absolutely do not recommend this place; it's definitely a place to completely avoid. An insult to Colombian gastronomy. Food is always delicious and pretty fresh. Place does get very busy since they are good so order ahead if you're planning take out. Order comes with 2 Loaded tostones which is great to share or to have for leftovers. Just wish the cheese was little more melted. read more

This place was delicious! We stopped for lunch on our way to Boston. For our drink we got natural juices (passion fruit and tamarindo). For starters we had the Tostones con todo, which was the most delicious plate ever. This contained different types of meat and sauces on large tostones. Then we had a mini bandeja. Ordered take out during this Covid 19 pandemic and so happy we stumbled upon this place. They have so many delicious authentic Columbian dishes and I wanted to order everything off the menu. We ended up going with the carne asada plate (grilled flank steak with white rice, avocado, three large fried plantains and an arepa) an order of the tostones con todo (two LARGE beautifully thin fried plantains topped with chicharrón, steak, pernil, cilantro, onions and a mayuketchu drizzle) and a side of chicharrón and yuca frita. The food here is AMAZING. I drive an hour to this place and I come frequently. With that being said- there has been a change of personnel it seems with FOH and the girls there have a NASTY attitude. The last three times I've went there's been an attitude issue. If you do not wish to work please quit so others that do want to work, can. There is no need for a nasty attitude our interaction will literally be 5-10 mins tops. Management please talk to your girls because no matter how good the food is- the attitude is not worth it. I come to get good food and leave happy not get a nasty ass attitude and leave pissed off. ---- La comida aquí es la MEJOR. Literal, manejo una hora para llegar. Dejando dicho eso- el cambio de personal a sido fatal. Las nuevas señoras son muy cortantes, pesadas y con una pésima actitud. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I DO NOT recommend this place!!! First we tried the chicharrón and realized it was all fat so we returned it; instead of the waiter throwing it away she put it back for other customers!! We went to this restaurant to have lunch with the hope to get good Colombian food and service. At the end, both were below standards. I ordered a Sancocho, which is a typical soup in Colombia. The soup was not even near what I can do at home, which is worst feeling ever. In a few words, this is a great place for those that do not know Colombian food, as well as for anybody else that is willing to give tips to extremely bad service. I really, really want to give this restaurant four stars or more, because some of the dishes are unique and delicious and the manager and staff are amazingly friendly, accommodating, and justifiably proud of having such an unusual menu and authentic cuisine. Let me be clear, I've been back and would go back again for certain unique items. Unfortunately, I've been in homes and restaurants worldwide and "authentic" home-cooked Latin American food in general is simply not up to the standard of "authentic" Western European or Japanese or even West African fare, although I might make exceptions for those who come from some parts of Mexico and Peru where imagination and flavor rules. Several of the dishes here are identical to standard Dominican or Puerto Rican or Mexican fare, such as sancocho or beans and rice, etc. Sorry folks, although I love Latin American culture for its exceptional music, dance, lifestyle, etc., Latin American cuisine such as beans and rice just can't compare to a Thai basil sauce on jasmine rice, or West African check rice and chicken gravy or a Japanese rice bowl. Ola in Orange (probably my overall favorite restaurant between Greenwich and New Haven) and Brasitas in Stamford have taken Latin American fusion to a delicious new level, and that's what's needed to take "authentic" fare to its place next to European and Asian. For Latin Americans who want to be reminded of their home country, this is a fantastic place. For gringos, it's nice and unusual, but find the few selected items on the menu that are truly exceptional, unless a bland empanada or beans and rice is your thing. The owners are terrific about giving you samples, and that's a big plus. I truly like this place, but the ambience is more diner-ish, and too many of the items are on the bland side. read more

Great authentic Colombian food. The Bandeja Paisa mini is not so mini and is a great value.

They have a great buffet style aasortment of their different dishes at lunch time. Great way to try a few things if you can not decide on just one. The beef stew was very good. I will have to come a few more times to try some other yummy looking menu items. read more

We went here last night because we had a restaurant.com certificate. Now, first of all, it is what it is- a small local Latin American eatery. The place is clean, and the staff friendly. We got empanadas to start with at $1 a piece, how can you go wrong?? The beef one was mushy- too much filler - but the chicken one was great. We also had the beef soup that was excellent. We split one of the combination plates- with sausage, fried pork and grilled beef. Wonderful!!! We will go back! read more
