I always love Antojitos. I'll typically stop in when I'm shopping in the market and love their pandebono! This time I actually sat in their seating area and got breakfast. I ordered the passionfruit shake, pandebono, and Carne Asada with rice and corn cake, fire! Each time I've had the pandebono it's been made to order so super fresh and airy. I got the passionfruit shake with water instead of milk so it was very light and refreshing. The serving size for the Carne Asada was huge. The meat was tender, and the rice was perfectly cooked. Antojitos Colombianos is located in the Market on Park St ( El Mercado). Today I went for breakfast with my dad. I always stop in but to buy Pandebonos and Buñuelos ( appetizers) to go. Well, what caught my eye was that they had Lengua( Beef Tongue). These days is hard to find it in the Colombian Restaurants around here. Not many serve it any more. So I came for that! That was my breakfast! You can order anything you want from the menu! I ordered arepa de huevo. Which was delicious as an appetizer and then I had Lengua. Came with a side of rice and beans. The Lengua tasted amazing. Full of flavor with yuca and the amount that was given was definitely worth it! Very tender too. Could have been a bit more hotter. My dad ordered the big size Bandeja Paisa and that was excellent as well. We are always happy with the service and food. Have to say our breakfast was more like dinner! read more

This place in Hartford was pretty good. The service was good, with the waitress being attentive to what we needed and asked for. It's also not very expensive at all, which is nice especially for a quick lunch. The food has good flavor and is well seasoned and came out hot. There's music playing in the restaurant but not so loud that you can't hear yourself with a conversation going on. Overall it was a nice experience eating here. read more

Your search for the best empanada de carne is over! This place has THE BEST beef empanadas around. They are always crisp, fresh and delicious. Whatever the little cups contain (as the dipping hot sauce) for them is amazing. Definitely be sure to ask for some (or even extra) when you order. I also love the rice and red beans. Portions of that are always generous. The plantains are delicious as well. Besides the empanadas, I've also had the big ball that was like fried mashed potatoes with some delicious spiced meat inside. I also highly recommend this, but am not sure if it's name. The only drawback to this place (besides the parking situation) is that sometimes you wait a looooong time for the empanadas to be ready. I think this is because they have to make them and fry them to order, so they don't sog. I've went a few times lately, and one time when they didn't have any empanadas in the case, I waited a pretty long time for them to be ready. The wait is always worth it, though. It is safe to say, I think, this little food emporium has one of the best Empanadas de Carne, far surpassing any other Hispanic version of that popular South American dish. The difference is the coarsely ground Colombian corn masa's dough texture and taste that is truly sublime, I've experienced nothing like it any where, couple that with the spicy salsa that accompanys your Empanada and voila!!! Another treat is the softball size Papas Rellenas, meat stuffed potato fried croquette which is a meal in and of itself. Antojitos Colombianos is a good Colombian place inside of El Mercado. El Mercado has several small restaurants inside of it. I had the bandeja montanera which had rice, beans, plantains, pork and steak. It is quite a big meal. I really enjoyed the rice and beans portion. The steak was ok. The woman who helped us was super nice and I'll be going back. I've had a lot of latin cuisine but not much food from Colombia so I'd like to familiarize myself with their other offerings. read more

Came on July 4th to watch Colombia play Brazil in the World Cup and the storefront was yellow with FIFA jerseys, humming with hope and shots of aguardiente being passed around. I had a couple of beers and a bowl of the soup of the day, which being a Friday, was fish soup- rich and savory with lumps of potato and yuca swimming along the fish chunks. Others were having a sort of Bandeja paisa which came with crispy chicharrones and looked good. The kitchen was busy pounding out empanadas as more people filtered in to watch the match. The game was tense and the mood was high, and the owner, Juan, already decked out in tagua bracelets to his elbows, donned his sombrero vueltiado hat, which led directly to Colombia's first goal. There much pounding and yelling when Colombia scored, and then many drawn looks as the game drew to a close with Brazil in the lead. Even though the mood afterward was like a punctured balloon and everyone was gutted, Juan made the best of it and passed around one more aguardiente for consolation. The soup tasted just like how my family makes, and based on that, I'll be coming back to try more of what's on the menu. Hopefully next time, Colombia will go all the way. Qué pena! read more

They looked really good so I ordered the same thing. There were several places to eat in this building, but my co worker says she only comes to this one. The food here was very good.
