Indoor seating

Arrived in Hartford today and found this Peruvian restaurant within walking distance of our rental apartment. The staff are fantastically hospitable and attentive. Lots of indoor seating, clean, festive. We ordered the pollo saltado, a house salad and a house chicken noodle soup. Generous portions! We enjoyed the roasted corn and green and red sauces that were offered as soon as we sat down. It was a great introduction to the restaurants in Hartford!

Ate a fresh, delicious filling "brunch" yesterday with my BFF. We made sure we ordered new items. We loved our meals! Chaufa was WOW. Also, the decor is bright but not too stimulating. Intercom music really needs tweaking. Sorry- I would love a Jon Secada/Gloria Estafan mix once in awhile. I have a huge take out container of leftovers. Yummy.

Came here with my father because he checks out all the new Peruvian restaurants that open up. Came in a Saturday and it was not empty but not full. The space itself is pretty small but nice and decorated in that typical Peruvian way. They have outdoor seating on a nice patio and serve bread with Peruvian aji or hot sauce before your meal which is typical of Peruvian restaurants. Now I came in not really hungry so I got the caldo de gallina or chicken soup (even though its so hot outside!). Food came out so fast! And everything was delicious. My soup was hot and had a nice piece of chicken thigh (I hate when they give you leg, but thats a personal preference). I asked for lime to add to my soup and that also came out promptly and my dad got the cau cau was good. Our waitress was extremely friendly and great on service so we were happy for that! Only draw back, no vegetarian options. Not even a small salad or quinoa but I'll make that suggestion hopefully this will change. Overall great place and would recommend and come back!

Hands down my favorite Peruvian restaurant. The service is good, but depending on when you go there may not be any staff who speak English ( I only needed assistance on one occasion and another patron was able to assist). It's fairly small and usually busy. I have had the chaufa mixto, which is out of this world. Lomo Saltado- very good. Tallerin Verde con Bistec -delicious...just enough sauce on the pasta and the steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The portions are large, which is nice because the their prices are a little more expensive than some of the other Latin restaurants in the area.

Sopa a la Minuta in a giant bowl. Really tasty!

Great Peruvian cuisine and conscientious service. They changed the music for us when we requested. We will be back soon.

Good drinks. Lots of seating. Chicken was good. Salad was good. Beans were bland. I would go back since good Peruvian food is hard to find.

The food is amazing and the authenticity is top notch. Especially great for pleasant sunny days because of the patio.

Their happy hour is really affordable with drinks under $10 and small plates for about $10 as well. I love their seafood croquettes and have tried them each time I visited and they've always been consistent. They're really crispy. I tried the calamari and while I wasn't crazy about it, it was tasty. Their chaufa with pork belly and lomo saltado are VERY tender and full of flavor. My favorite would have to be the lomo but I might be biased because it's my favorite dish. The music is always great too! I think service sometimes can be a bit slow but it's always friendly. I think their vibes are needed Downtown to shake things up a bit with the inside aesthetics.

Amazing drinks, unbelievably delicious dinners for all 5 of us. Even the one who prefers vegetarian, hates fish, and gets cranky around meat are every drop of her chicken stir fry and gushed "I wish I had a glass of this sauce to DRINK!" Tapas servings were HUGE and enough for a full meal AND leftovers to take home for lunch. We had a 5 pm reservation and arrived to an empty establishment. Astonishingly it was packed by 6 with guests waiting for a table! We had a perfect table in an alcove; ask for it if you're in a small group. There is also balcony seating that was unused while we were there, maybe that could be semi-private space for a little party too. Great playlist as well. Lived it all!!! Glad we were early to check the place out too to bottom!

I enjoyed the dish, and the takeout experience was pleasant but I did take a star off because there were no utensils in my bag even though I made that request when I called. I was picking up from an outdoor event and had to go back to grab some which was a bit annoying. I thought the taste of the dish was great. The steak was tender and I like my sauce on the sweeter side so I was happy. The rice wasn't nauseatingly fluffy which I was wearing of because I've been having that issue with a lot of places recently. I'd order takeout again but would just be mindful to check for everything before leaving.

We ordered a bunch of food and it didn't take too long to come out, we had multiple rounds of drinks and the pacing on refills was also good. The main problem was the food. Most of the food was ok. I ordered lomo saltado a lo pobre and my husband ordered chupe de camarones. My dish was pretty good. The steak and eggs were over cooked unfortunately but again the meal was fine. My husband's chupe however was really not good. The shrimp was very overcooked, the broth was bland and oily and thin. He ate his egg and left the rest alone. All the dishes were pretty expensive so we asked to have our soup comped but we were told we could not because the waitress asked twice is everything was OK and my husband didn't say anything til the end (although I feel that if someone isn't touching their food it's usually a sign). Feels like a strange rule but i did honestly deduct 1 star because of this. The menu is large and expensive, so it does feel like a gamble if something is that bad but we still cant get 1 in 7 entrees comped. We are a peruvian family (6 adults) and we all felt similarly.

They didn't open, so the girlfriend and I needed to pull an audible. Went to the highest rated location near us, and found this place. First thing, this place is a night club. It's layout, the decor, the wait staff, the music playing, the metal detector in the front, and the dj stand. Everything about this place screams modern night club trying to get through covid. Thing is, this is a place that's making lemonade out of lemons. The staff are extremely friendly, the food service took a while but they kept the bread stocked. The breads this dense but soft inside. Kind of like a soft pretzel without the salt. When the food does come, it's awesome! Everything brought the flavor, nothing was under seasoned and the portions were large. Tacos were stacked with perfectly braised beef with ample toppings which all had a distinct and pronounced flavor. The chiveche was piled high with a limey, salty, savory bite. The fish was fresh, and the fried octopus was perfectly crisp and tender. The crepe was well executed, but it was kind of general. Bananas and Nutella, not much to say. I would've liked the bananas warmer, maybe a little burlee of sugar on the top of each to give it a sweet crisp? It was tasty, I just wanted a little more. Price was a little high, but the food coming out from the kitchen along with the portion makes it worth it. It does take a while, so be prepared for a wait. But now I can say that I had brunch at the night club, and that's a pretty awesome memory. That and the food is good, so if you want a funky place for great peruvian food, go hunt this place down!

Surprised to find that they had icy rolls in their menu.
