So wonderful to have a new Columbian restaurant! This counter service place had a wonderfully sweet woman taking charge of the service, big portions, plenty of delicious options! We had the Mini Bandeja Paisa and Fried Fish Platter! The pork belly was crispy and flavorful and the skirt steak was actually tender! Drench everything in the habenero hot sauce, get some sweet pastries to-go- perfect!

We stopped by for dinner on a Friday night and sat at the bar. Having never been here before, we…read morewere unsure as to what to expect. The staff was very friendly when we entered. The manager, Alejandra who was tending the bar, was especially attentive and super-friendly as well. The drinks were mixed well and very flavorful. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. The maduro con queso, the shredded beef arepa and the empanadas were all a big hit, and we all raved how good everything was. The place has a nice, comfortable vibe and the music was great - not too loud. If you enjoy the offerings at the nearby restaurant "Ola", then you're going to love this place. The food, service and prices are all on par. We will definitely be coming back!

La Fonda was a great spot -- authentic food, warm atmosphere, and always fresh. Unfortunately, this new place doesn't live up to that standard at all. To start, there were no English menus available, which made ordering confusing. During my visit, I actually killed three flies inside the restaurant -- and there were several more buzzing around. That alone was a bad sign. The food didn't redeem the experience either. The calamari was over-fried and far from fresh. The dish with ground beef was literally ground into a dust-like texture -- completely unappetizing. The beans were cold, and the empanadas were hard, stale, and clearly re-fried; they even had an unpleasant taste. The mango juice, which I hoped would save the meal, was also a miss. Overall, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. I won't be coming back. Whatever happened between La Fonda Colombiana and Sabores Orange is truly disappointing -- the old restaurant was far better in every way.

My food experience was amazing! I learned of this restaurant some time ago. I was finally able to…read morestop in and order some takeout. They do have a few booths and high seat dining. It smelled amazing as soon as I stepped in. I was greeted by a young lady. I ordered the arroz con gandules (yellow rice with pigeon peas) and red beans. I was so happy to see that they have plant-based options which included empanadas made with Beyond meat. I ordered the regular Beyond meat empanada and another one which had mozzarella cheese and sweet, plantains inside along with the Beyond meat. They are made to order, so it took about 15 minutes, which I had no problem with. They didn't have the potato balls available with the Beyond meat, but hopefully they will next time. The food was delicious. That was the best rice and beans I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned without being salty, and the texture was on point. I ordered a medium and I was able to get about three servings out of it. I've never had an empanada with "meat", cheese, and plantains, but it worked so nicely. It was also seasoned to perfection, the cheese added a nice, mild creamy element, and the plantains were sweet and provided a nice contrast to the seasoned beyond meat. As I'm writing this, I'm thinking about the rice. They are closed on Sunday and Monday, but I am going on Tuesday. Lol. They do have pernil, and a variety of chicken options from what I saw.

Which honestly can feed up to two people. They had a variety of stews and meats. Parking was plentiful which I love seeing. Walking in your are greeted by the staff who point out what the have for the day. There is a set up of prepared food and you pick and choose what you want on your plate. There is also a good amount of seating if you want to sit in. I ordered the roasted pork and yellow rice. It was delicious and not too salty. I couldn't help be eat it all in one seating. With the food, drink and tip it was about $20 which is pretty good for what you get. I am looking forward to come back and try other items.

I can't believe I haven't written a review about Rubamba yet! I've been stopping here for a few…read moreyears and they've always been consistent with the Arepas. I like to switch up the type of arepa that I get and this time decided on the orange Cuban, which came with rice and sweet plantains. I almost wanted to lick my plate. It was so delicious!! Their tacos are pretty popular too, and some of the arepas are big enough to split. There are a couple of tables inside, but I know most people opt for a takeout.

I felt like a lab rat mid-experiment, having a sudden moment of clarity that this fun maze might actually be a death trap. The older gay men beside me glanced at my empty seat before smiling at me with mischievous curiosity. They led with kindness and asked "how are those nachos?", but I knew they meant "why don't you have a date". When I answered with explicit detail about the flavor composition of the nachos and they burst into laughter, I watched the "ah, that's why" land on their faces in real time. Fair. A girl's gotta get her satisfaction somewhere, and in that moment, it had been from the even cheese distribution. The nachos were quite nice, actually. Could've used a bit more beans. And a lot more heat. Incidentally, and according to the four gay wise men, so could my love life. All else: a familiar redhead walked past the window and I said, "I know that redhead from somewhere", turns out it was Conan O'Brien. Second-tier celebrity sighting of the night. First tier was our waiter, sweeping the floor with a little rhythm in the hips. I love when people are so caught up in their own world that the noise fades out. It made me smile.
