Pasta with clams was a hit look at the great portion of sweet fresh clams on top of perfectly Aldente pasta - A dish of spaghetti with cooked clams in a light sauce, garnished with herbs, served on a white plate.

Overall Rating 4.5. Food 4.0. Service 5.0. I rarely give five stars if there are imperfections but were really pleasantly surprised with Gabagool. The ambience is great. What a cute restaurant/wine bar and the food overall was very tasty and well prepared. Nice selection of appetizers fresh seafood, great cocktails and wine selection and service was wonderful. Gnocchi with a pink sauce was absolutely our favorite. Pillowy soft gnocchi with a delicious sauce. A must get. Love the selection of "bawls" (traditional , sausage and peppers and Risotto) they have jersey Italian American slang throughout the menu. The eggplant special while tasty needed a little more flavor was a very small portion. I was thinking it would be a half eggplant. The pork chop was slightly overcooked but the sauce was really delicious. I'll definitely make sure I specify temperature next time. Those are the only downsides from our first try. everything else was delicious pasta with clams had nice mountain of baby sweet clams with pasta cooked perfectly. The fillet of sole special franchise was very tasty. We'll definitely come back soon and try more things.

I've driven past this place on the way to the beach multiple times but never stopped. Finally did and I'm so glad! Let me start by saying this food is really good. All of it was clearly made fresh and all of it from scratch. The zucchini chips and brussels were excellent, as was the gnocchi with the vodka sauce. The building is an old house and the outdoor space has about 15 tables, completely covered with sides that look like they would come down if the weather required it. Place has been open for about a year and a half and after going, I'll be back! Hope other come too because it really is worth it. Attentive service, good food, and for a fair price; can't ask for more!

Went to Gabagool for a girls night with my friends visiting for the weekend. It was good, but I wouldn't rush back. We were seated in the outdoor area. It was heated which was nice. Our waiter wasn't very attentive throughout the night and it wasn't very busy. We got the fried calamari and the ball tasting to start. . The calamari was good as was the dipping sauce. I'm picky about meatballs, but I enjoyed the meatballs the most out of all of the balls, lol. Our entrees were the chicken parm, chicken milanese, and the shrimp scampi. I had the shrimp scampi and it must have been waiting in the back before coming out to our table because it was not too warm and was pretty dry. I'd maybe give it another try at the bar and check out those vibes but other than that it was a "just okay" experience!

Best bartender in Fairfield...see Dan, tell him Chris sent you. - A man with glasses and dark hair stands behind a bar counter with liquor bottles, a bowl of lemons and limes, and a cucumber. TV screens show sports in the background.

Great food, great bar and, for Fairfield, great parking!! Antonio has built an amazing menu and team at Gabagool. Seasoned (pun intended) veteran chef, Vincenzo, in the kitchen is getting it done. The meatballs are worth the trip alone but everything is good. The happy hour is great too. Tell Dan at the bar the Chris sent you!

In a nutshelll if you liked the previous iteration of this restaurant you'll like Gabagool. Same owner and some menu items carried over. It's maybe a bit more casual than it used to be but definitely some upgrades along with the repairs. Maybe a year and a half ago they the had a major flooding issues and had to do extensive repairs and in the process they made it nicer. The food is nominally Italian and Mediterranean and generally delicious. The eggplant app and the Mediterranean spreads are my favorites but there are plenty of other good options. The menu isn't huge but lots of good things to choose from. We were there on a Saturday night and the place was pretty crowded and the servers were working hard but service was still good. Like the menu, the wine list is not overwhelming but good options, at least for me. The atmosphere is generally fun but it's definitely not like a sports bar or anything. It's nice without being snooty or taking itself too seriously. As you might expect it's not inexpensive but definitely fair for what you get. The parking lot is tight but there's a big free public lot across the street which is a big plus. I've been coming here for years and I'm glad to see the latest incarnation is as good as previous.

Gabagool was a fun spot for a weeknight dinner with my friends. Although the food wasn't my favorite, the service was great and so were the drinks.

Nice vibes, music pumping, drinks flowing...Chris our server was PHENOMENAL! She was a huge part of our magical experience. I started off with the buffalo cauliflower. I will preface this by saying I'm not a big Buffalo flavor person, but I'm a vegetarian and didn't feel like getting my usual vegetarian app - brussel sprouts. I wanted to expand my palate that evening and surprisingly I actually really liked it. The amount of blue cheese was perfect for me (despite the reviews) as it would have made it too salty and greasy. Next was my entree: Modified Kettle Cooked Zoodles. As a vegetarian, I never have the highest expectations but I was blown away! Chris our server was so sweet to have this customized for me. We took the idea of hubby's Branzino sauce and added more veggies to the Kettle cooked Zoodle dish. It was so yummy! Hubby's Branzino: fish was well cooked, elegant flavors from the Puttanesca sauce with spinach and mashed potatoes were excellent! Faux-ito: I got two, the first was the classic, the second was a mix of strawberry and pineapple. Both delicious mocktails! The Forbidden Pear: hubby got this one. very balanced, not sticky sweet. I can't believe this gem is just sitting here in Fairfield. Not too far off from a night in the city. We will definitely be back!

Had a drink, still being quite ignored and decided to get a table. Was sat down, and handed two menus and one that stated "lunch" on it, were very confused what was going on, and why, but was a long day and just caught up with my wife. Ordered some apps that came out in 10 seconds, the salad was delicious and the meatballs were cold. Was followed up with ordering just some shareable side plates, and again came out almost instantly. Asked for a fresh glass with another glass of wine, and got a wet glass that smelt like wine, when I went in to ask for a fresh glass, over heard the young gentleman man saying, what I rinsed it. You're at a fairly nice restaurant that has a great deal of glasses, don't know why it was an issue to request a fresh glass. Sat outside where it was a bit quieter, and nice and warm. Towards the end, asked the waitress why we were handed a lunch menu, and she then explained as our meal was over, specials were on the other side. Guess was on us for not thinking to flip a menu that was handed to us with lunch specials on it. Finished the meal, got the check and saw my wife's drink from the bar, which was paid for at the bar, was now on the table bill as well. Was too exhausted to even question it and paid and left. Went home and from multiple good experiences here questioned if we would come back. Love this spot for summer outside, but this was just an overall bad experience with the waitress we had, if we return hope to not have her!

We decided maybe just a drink at the bar, we ordered two drinks, very flat, no carbonation in the drinks at all, wife's soda had not one bubble in it, my beer had no foam or bubbles at all (extremely flat). Not to mention the stemware was very poor, glasses were very small, very basic, and did not make for a want to be "chic" bar vibe. When paying, placed card down and asked for change for tip- (worked in food industry in the past, always better to tip cash). Bar tender looked at it, and decided to make 4 other drinks first as my wife and I sat there with empty glasses waiting to leave. For a bill under 14 and change, asked for change for a 10, was going to tip $4 and given back two fives, granted it's only $1 but the service and everything did not grant a 29% tip sorry! Would have loved to have tried the food, but as an empty restaurant, on a hopping Thursday night, was very put off on the first impression.
