    Marinated Ahi Tuna

Malibu Taco is a fun place to meet friends for cocktails and lunch when traveling back to CT. My go to is the Marinated Ahi Tuna served with fresh guacamole, blueberries, cucumbers, toasted sesame seeds and a miso-lime vinaigrette. It's the perfect combo of sweet and spicy. The service is always quick and the vibe is typical Fairfield county.

Last night, I hit up Malibu Taco for a Sunday Happy Hour from 6:30 PM until close with one of my close friends. I started off with an espresso martini that set the tone, then shifted gears to Malibu Marg's for the rest of the night--strong drinks, exactly as they should be. Mitch, our waiter, was on point. But THE CALAMARI TACOS with miso sauce!? Absolute game-changer. I'm officially a miso sauce fan. The Tuna Tostone was good too. Good vibe, good time.

We love coming to Malibu! The drinks are always amazing and so is the service. Everything came out so fast, even with how busy it was! The outside area is perfect, especially with the fun pink umbrellas - one of my go-to summer spots!

I came here with some of my family to celebrate my nephews win at his soccer game! They had cute outdoor seating we originally sat outside but it was too hot luckily they had some space inside for 7 of us. Juan was our waiter and he was very friendly, he checked up on us frequently, he was very helpful and attentive. Inside the restaurant is so cute! I love the vibe! Now, on to the food we had ordered a variety of things on the list of things ordered to the table- ahi tuna, steak, two Nashville chicken tacos. Yuca fries which were loved by the whole table although I would wish they would give a bigger portion they were great! Birria tacos, arroz con pollo, shrimp Al mojo, chicken quesadilla. Overall the dishes were great! My sister and law got some drinks and we both tried the la pinta and my nephew got the adios padre mocktail. I would recommend to give it a try! We will definitely be back!

Marinate Ahi Tuna take out rice bowl

Living in Fairfield, we have a handful of regular places we either go out to eat or get take out from, and Malibu is right there on top of the list. We've been eating here for years, and I am constantly impressed with quality and flavors of the food. The few times we came here to eat, whether its with 6 people or 2 people, we always had exceptional service. The restaurant is also very cool inside, and on a nice warm day, has plenty of outdoor seating. One of my favorites is the Marinated Ahi Tuna rice bowl (ponzu marinated chopped tuna, guac, scallions, sesame oil, toasted sesame seeds, spicy cucumbers, blueberries, miso-lime vinaigrette). But honestly, everything on the menu is good. My daughter is partial to the pork belly tacos. Highly recommend either for family meal or a night out with friends (drink menu is great too!)

A fun and vibrant spot to enjoy tacos! With an outdoor patio and large bar, this is a cool spot to meet friends during the summer. Went in between lunch and dinner on a Saturday and service was very slow and not overly friendly. The food however tasted great and all the tacos had large portions of meat. The steak was definitely a favorite. The drinks were tasty and strong as well.

My friends and I celebrated our girl's birthday. We had brunch and I'm so glad they decided on Malibu. The aesthetics made me feel like I was in Tulum, Mexico. The drinks were tasty, yet strong. I ordered the Malibu Passion Spritz (this was my fav) & the passion fruit margarita. The menu accommodated to all allergies, diets, and preferences. Everything we ordered, tasted delicious! We ordered the Spicy Cucumbers, Sweet Potato Guacamole, & Nachos; all delicious. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Taco, Buffalo Cauliflower Taco, & Chipotle Shrimp Taco. They have the option to opt out of the tortilla and replace it with a lettuce wrap. I couldn't stop eating because I could taste the flavor in each ingredient in the dish. I will be returning! The service with Daniela was amazing!

Food was absolutely delish. The Greek was a very good bowl I was skeptical about the peaches but it complimented very well. Everything was fresh with great service. 10/10. Great outdoor and indoor seating.

The Greek Salad and Rice Bowl and Sangria

Being from California I wasn't expecting to be impressed by this California cuisine restaurant but I was wrong. The restaurant has super cute vibes, delicious and refreshing cocktails and fresh food. The menu has a wide range of items, from crab cakes, poke and chorizo fried rice to Nashville hot chicken tacos, open faced quesadillas and salmon teriyaki. What a mix! It doesn't seem possible to come here without finding something you like and also being able to try something new each time. Their salad and rice bowls were calling my name as I was craving something on the healthier side for lunch. You have the option of going with superfood greens, brown rice or a combo of both which you know I had to do. The Greek Bowl totally hit the spot. It comes with tender shredded marinated lamb, succulent peaches, creamy goat cheese, tomato, onion, spicy cucumbers, tzatziki and a feta vinaigrette to bring it all together. It was honestly perfection and I am craving another right now. We passed by in the evening and this appeared to be a happening place for dinner as well.

    Buffalo chicken quesadilla
    Nicole F.

Waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. We made it just in time for happy hour and the margaritas were good! I wouldn't say it was the best marg, but still very good. I ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla and it was more like a pizza, an open faced tortilla with all the toppings, not what i was expecting and honestly, i was hoping for an actual quesadilla not an american twist to one . The chicken was very good, however, there was not a lot of chicken on my quesadilla which was a downfall. Parking - there is street parking (for free) or in addition there was a lot, however at 5pm on a Saturday there wasn't any for me.

Malibu beach, pulled lamb, and farm house

Came here for a quick bite for dinner and had a good experience! We got a glass of red wine, and got 3 open faced quesadillas to share. We got the pulled lamb, farm house, and Malibu beach quesadillas and it was delicious! Easy to share portions and we had a few leftovers. It was a nice day outside so we were able to get a table right next to the open door. Ambience is great and service was good too. The table we had was a little too small for 3 dishes, but we made it work. Would recommend and would like to return!

"Like whippets, they dance in a curly-queue dance Of pulses…read moreand ringing and campfire chants Birds of a feather are flocking outside" (Phish) There are so many nice restaurants in Fairfield, picking one for lunch can be a formidable task. But because it was so cold today, we picked one close to the train station for our lunch for three, and it turned out to be a great choice after our meal at Ryebird. Their website describes Ryebird as "A Neighborhood joint where friends and family meet" and that seems pretty much spot-on. The bar is gorgeous, the dining room is beautifully decorated with red painted walls, dark distressed wood tables, and stainless-steel colored chairs. The service was great, I mean outstanding. Our server Leo was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We had a few conversations with Manager Thomas who was very charming and a real joy to talk with. And I haven't even gotten to the food yet! OK, here we go! Our party of three went with a small Chicken Soup for The Soul with Cheesy Bread ($14) for me. What's Cheesy Bread? Well, how about three toasted pieces of gooey pizza bread topped with a feta spread and olive oil. My brother-in-law went with their Daily Pot Pie ($23 for Chicken today), with a house-made buttery crust, scratch-made filling, and an added $4 up-charge for a gravy boat full of mushroom bourbon gravy. My wife went with a Roaster sandwich ($18) of pulled chicken, cheddar, BBQ sauce, pickled onion, on a baguette served with fries. We also had an order of Lemon Chili Zucchini ($9) for the table. The food was wonderful, as both the pot pie and the sandwich were devoured. My soup was a pretty big bowl for a "Small" but was loaded with more carrots and celery than chicken. I asked our server Leo if they had any hot sauce, and he asked me how hot did I want it? Ryebird has a few different types in increasing levels of hotness. I asked for the max, and he brought out a little ramekin of some of the hottest hot sauce I ever had. It was pretty much at my upper level of tolerance. I chatted about it with the restaurant manager on the way out, and he was pretty sure it was made with Ghost Peppers, so that explained my thermonuclear mouth numbing reaction. Anyway, we loved our visit to Ryebird. Their food is reasonably priced, portions are generous, the quality is high, and the service is exceptional. What more do you want in a Fairfield County lunch?

Nice vibes, music pumping, drinks flowing...Chris our server was PHENOMENAL! She was a huge part of our magical experience. I started off with the buffalo cauliflower. I will preface this by saying I'm not a big Buffalo flavor person, but I'm a vegetarian and didn't feel like getting my usual vegetarian app - brussel sprouts. I wanted to expand my palate that evening and surprisingly I actually really liked it. The amount of blue cheese was perfect for me (despite the reviews) as it would have made it too salty and greasy. Next was my entree: Modified Kettle Cooked Zoodles. As a vegetarian, I never have the highest expectations but I was blown away! Chris our server was so sweet to have this customized for me. We took the idea of hubby's Branzino sauce and added more veggies to the Kettle cooked Zoodle dish. It was so yummy! Hubby's Branzino: fish was well cooked, elegant flavors from the Puttanesca sauce with spinach and mashed potatoes were excellent! Faux-ito: I got two, the first was the classic, the second was a mix of strawberry and pineapple. Both delicious mocktails! The Forbidden Pear: hubby got this one. very balanced, not sticky sweet. I can't believe this gem is just sitting here in Fairfield. Not too far off from a night in the city. We will definitely be back!
