Loved the Margarita (spicy) and Birria tacos (with cheese) but service while nice was not good. Understaffed and they forgot my order of the street corn and disappeared after serving food. They cleared the area of dirty dishes but just never came back for ordering more or getting check. Quite an effort to leave. Place was not full when I arrived but packed when I left at 7 on a Tuesday. read more

I was excited to try this place given their excessive bragging about their Birria. We made a reservation for 10 and showed up on time but had to wait for our table. When we got inside I was overwhelmed by how loud the music was. We couldn't even talk amongst our table without borderline yelling and I couldn't hear the waiter unless she was next to me. The food was good but not mouthwatering like I anticipated. The consome was too sweet for my liking but the Birria was definitely tender so they have that going. One of our orders of empanadas came out wrong. I ordered chicken and it came out as beef. The elote dip was 2/5. Not worth the price tag. Overall the servers were great but the food was just good. It great. Wouldn't be on my list of places to go again. read more

My friends and I went here for brunch and loved our meals. We got there right when they opened and the only downside was our food took quite some time to come out even though we were only one of two tables. Their chips and salsa are amazing and a must get. I couldn't stop eating them! I got the birria grilled cheese and the portion was huge. The consommé was delicious. The coffee is very sweet and has some cinnamon and other spices which was good and unexpected. I would definitely go back for dinner. read more

So came for brunch , and first of all the music is wayyyyyy too loud . Like seriously - impossible to have a conversation without yelling . That was an extreme turnoff , like I came here for brunch - not get my ears blown out; if I wanted that - I would have gone to a nightclub or something. Also my freshly squeezed orange juice was basically ice with orange juice , less ice would have been a lot nicer . Also , our wait time to get food was a longer than expected, we kept seeing other tables get their food before us , which didn't make sense . So I decided to cancel my order and leave . The time management here did not seem to make any sense , extremely loud , and guess not for me . All I had for food was my orange juice my daughters fries and chips in over an hour that I was here . So guess I'll never know if the food is any good here; don't think I'm missing much . read more

Friendly service and our favorite bartender David recommended a terrific wine. The pork belly and baja tacos are fresh and flavorful, and the arepas are outstanding. We are so glad this place is nearby so we can try everything on the menu! read more

My second rime here and I loved it both times. This is a very happening place and us consistently crowded and seems to be drawing a loyal following, which is predominantly Hispanic. Even though it is crowded getting a seat was not an issue as the first time around I git a table but the second time they immediately took me to the var seating. The place is colorful, with a painting of a lady being the centerpiece behind the bar. The patronage seems to be enjoying the music and the food and I even witnessed a Birthday where the staff sang a cheerful song accompanied by clapping. There is a variety of food choices with Tacos, Quesadillas, Arepas and the likes, however I felt the main attraction was the Birria, so went ahead and ordered the Birria Special, which was "BIrria, Mexican Rice, Re-fried Beans, Tortillas, Consome, Cilantro, Onion" The Consome was interesting as you can either pour it over the rice or dip the tortilla in it, but in any case it was very flavorful specially with rice. It is a lot of food for one person, but it allowed me to sample a bit of everything which added to the experience. Overall a great discovery, pleasant staff, good food, music and overall vibe. read more

What an outstanding lunch. I read the reviews and decided to give them a try, and I am so glad I did. The restaurant is a mix between Mexican and Venezuelan food. The staff was very helpful in explaining the menu. The restaurant is on the small side but they are still set up for dining in if you like. They have about 3 tables and a counter you can dine at. We chose to dine in and it was great. My girlfriend had 2 tacos ( chorizo and Al pastor). I had the carne asada quesadillas. Both meals were absolutely delicious! They were so packed with flavor. We loved them. We also had an order of chips and salsa, the salsa was probably the best salsa I ever had. It is so chunky and had a touch of spice. This place is definitely a winner and we will be back. read more

Taco Tuesday! Great deal $10 for 3 tacos, great drinks and guac!! John the front of the house was very attentive and fun. Now they are adding great Monday night specials as well. read more

After loving the birria tacos with consomé from their smaller original location, I was eager to try this newer, bigger, aesthetic one. I came here for Taco Tuesday; There were 3 for $10 taco deals as well as $10 margaritas. The staff were super nice and great but the food fell short of that. We ordered the guac and chips as an appetizer. It was the first time we tasted cold guacamole; the pieces of tomatoes were almost icy. Makes me conclude, not everything is made fresh to the order. I'm used to that high quality table side guac. This one couldn't compare. The meat from my carnita taco was tough, should have been tender. The chicken and the steak tacos were mid. The birria taco bowl was drizzled with a weird cheese whiz and the meat was pretty dry for birria. I prefer real cheese. The rice was also weird; it had green peas and stuff mixed in. Not the best combination. The margaritas were served in small glasses filled with ice. I had a few, it was tasty, but smaller than average drink portion. This spot was nice and clean. I love the vibrant contrasting colors and decor, but I wouldn't care to come again anytime soon. read more

Good food and solid depth of flavor on everything . Tell me how 2 quesadillas with pork, small side of guac/salsa/crema comes to $45!?!

Near five star first experience at Mil Sabores. The biggest downfall was that the birria pizzadilla came without the consume that we also had ordered. While the pizzadilla was outstanding without the consume, it definitely would have kicked the flavor up a knotch. We also loved the Reina pepiada arepa. The arepa was light but also filling at the same time and reminded us of the flavor of a southern biscuit. We variety of salsas that accompanied our order were fun to experiment with. We look forward to further exploring this creative and unique menu! read more

We wanted to try a restaurant we hadn't been to before and found this gem on yelp. First impressions were high as it has a beautiful mural on the side wall. Walking in we noticed they have a lovely outdoor patio for warmer months. We were seated promptly and Johnny brought us waters and took our drink order. He is the bartender so was pulling triple duty in host, server and bartender. We ordered a beer and a glass of wine. He showed us the bottle, poured me a sip and swirled it for me. I tasted it, lovely. Not many servers take the time anymore, so a welcome change. Johnny ordered the steak arepa off the lunch menu and I ordered two steak tacos. Omg, the arepa is huge and so tasty. He brought multiple salsas and two bottles of aioli. My tacos were beyond amazing, so delicious. Full of meat with onions and cilantro. The ladies bathroom is immaculately clean and decorated nicely. The service is excellent, very friendly and professional. Go with complete confidence, ask for Johnny T. Absolutely a fantastic server. read more

A little whole in the wall that you easily pass by if you don't know about them. I was made familiar through City Church when we had an event and ordered from there menu. So it was take out, and I haven't been inside their location yet. The food however is of great quality and quantity, not to forget it is delicious! I had the birria burrito and it was big and richly filled with tastiness. My wife had the Carne Asada Arepa and she loved it. Definitely a place to go back to and try more goodies from their inviting menu. I'll update my review once that happens. read more

The food is super delicious and portions are plentiful. I have been twice in the past few weeks and look forward to returning again soon. Check out 3 for $10 Taco Tuesday with $10 margaritas for a good primer. The birria tacos, arepas, quesadillas and gargantuan burrito bowls are all spectacular... and you'll be taking extra home if you don't share dishes. Just look out for the auto-gratuity charge for groups of 4 or greater. A little odd for that small of a number IMO but they were transparent about it. read more

I live in Mexico City in the winter so I know what good Mexican food should taste like...and Mil Sabores is not it. Their El Pastor bowl was a crime....dry shredded pork, no pineapple, very little guacamole and the rice was mushy and tasteless. There is authentic Mexican in Black Rock but this isn't it. read more

I have been obsessed with this place since I first went their. My only problem is the tacos are SO GOOD I never want to try anything else. The atmosphere is clean and the dining area is smaller but they are expanding which is exciting! Service is always kind and quick. I have tried every taco on the menu and love them all but my favorite is the Al Pastor which is a marinated pork with pineapple. It is such a good combination. I tried their arepa one time and it was amazing. It is stuffed with meat and very filling. They do not skimp out. The sauces they have are great on the tacos and arepas. I come here about twice a month it may be my favorite taco spot In CT! I love it so much my friends ordered a tray for my birthday Also they have great taco tuesday specials read more

Food was not good, birria tacos had no flavor and the sauce was OVERLY sweet. The street corn was disgusting, got worse with every bite. Ordered drinks, literally so bad. Very watered down and weren't sweet at all (piña colada) and said I couldn't send it back bc I drank from it...how would I know if I like it if I don't try it...prices on the menu aren't accurate and when we asked about it they said the menu says prices can change, checked the menu and it's in tiny print at the bottom. Also they charged a 20% gratuity for 4 of us. Paid $160 for FOUR PEOPLE. Never ever coming back here. Bad food bad service terrible prices. UPDATE owner said I walked in w an attitude...I was excited to try the food (reason y I took pics)didn't have an attitude whatsoever. And the owner wasn't even on the floor...unprofessional AND a liar? yikes.I was nice the entire interaction and shared my experience with a review. Also if u look down at other bad reviews u can see the owner unprofessionally and embarrassingly clapping back at people which completely PROVES my point about BAD SERVICE. read more

First time and won't be returning- Made reservations (which they charge 50$) for a friends birthday. We asked about happy hour when we called and were told they had it until 6. When we arrived we were told there was no happy hour on Fridays to then be told that it just "wasn't the system". Even though we had a paid reservation they wouldn't sit us until all people arrived. And the happy hour specials did not make us very "happy". Will say the place was nicely decorated but service was not great. Food was ok but not worth all the other aggravations. read more

Ive been here twice and by noon its 3/4 busy till 12:45. So get here early or late lunch. We ordered the pizzadilla which was a beautiful 12 inch, 8 sliced, 1 inch thick work of art. It was filled with 2,layers of shredded beef (birria), cheese and 3 layers of tortillas. Our waiter was right - its enough to feed 2-3 grown men and leftovers. The pizzadilla was flavorful and had a little bite of heat in the meat. The restaurant was comfortably setup with two corner booths and the rest small tables. Service was a little slow but polite since there was only one waiter and one helper for the restaurant. Mil Sabores was a relaxing chillout place to chow down. We'll be back! read more

We were really looking forward to trying Mil Sabores in Bridgeport for the first time, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. We came as a family with our baby, and despite several open tables in the restaurant, the staff insisted on seating us at a tiny table for two. When we politely asked if we could sit at one of the available larger tables to accommodate our baby, the girl behind the bar refused and mentioned something about needing a reservation. This was confusing because we had checked the website beforehand and saw no mention of reservations being required. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, especially for first-time guests. We ended up leaving without eating, which was frustrating and upsetting. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and trains their staff to be more considerate and flexible--especially when it comes to families and first-time visitors. read more

Good food, not cheap for what is really take out. On a whim, I took the kids to Mil Sabors. I thought there were more tables inside but realized this is basically take out only. Food was excellent. We enjoyed tacos, pernil arepa, elotes and fresh chips & guac. After a prolonged silence (as they devoured dinner) #1 & #2 sons pronounced that the food was "ok." They have discriminating tastes and this is very high praise. If the subject isn't sports, I'm lucky to get two word answers. During our dinner, the phone was ringing, the delivery app tablets beeping and the door was barely closed for all the early evening activity. Surely the massive business is a testament to the quality of the food. Find word: I won't dine in there again but I won't have to. Management informed us they are moving closer into Black Rock and will have full table service and proper sit down accommodations. Can't wait! read more

We went around 11:20AM. They had insanely loud club type music, you couldn't hear anything others were saying. Wild that they had music that loud in the morning/noon. It took 1 hour to get our food and they took their time doing marketing first by recording the food before giving it to us. Food was mid, especially the nachos. They forgot parts of our order and were going to charge us for them anyway until we said something. The food we ordered was not complicated to make, not sure what took them so long. Very disappointed. The waiters are nice. We walked out. Edit: They STOLE from us. We all did separate checks. I ordered nachos and lemonades and when I paid it was $34 dollars. I look at my bank account and they added $100 to the charge!!! Never coming back!!! The owner also doesn't take any accountability and comes after anyone who puts a bad review. read more

This place gets five stars. From beginning to end the experience was great! We dine outside , we had the restaurant to ourselves which is always a good thing. For starters we had Baja fish tacos and shrimp tacos . Both were fresh and flavorful. Chicken nachos and Birria nachos were also on the spread. Last the Birria pizza which was absolutely delicious. You have to order the broth separately. For dessert strawberry tres leches and caramel tres leches both great. This place is splendid. read more

Mil Sabores is my favorite place in Connecticut for birria! We first visited them at their food truck and absolutely love their space in Bridgeport. The birria is so flavorful and a really unique dish. Everything from the guac and chips, empanadas, and tequenos are delicious, and next time we're going to try more of their Venezuelan options. Slow and rude. With tables available made to wait over 30 minutes. No waiting area for guest

I will no longer be a customer here which is very unfortunate. I always have enjoyed the food and service and left 20%+ gratuity. Tonight is the 1st time I noticed not only an auto gratuity added of 17% but also taxed on the gross amount! No where on the menu or is it stated by staff that this is the policy. A line item on the receipt. I have been in the restaurant bar industry my entire life, this is a deceptive and immoral practice!
