When we got inside I was overwhelmed by how loud the music was. We couldn't even talk amongst our table without borderline yelling and I couldn't hear the waiter unless she was next to me. The food was good but not mouthwatering like I anticipated. The consome was too sweet for my liking but the Birria was definitely tender so they have that going. My friends and I went here for brunch and loved our meals. We got there right when they opened and the only downside was our food took quite some time to come out even though we were only one of two tables. Their chips and salsa are amazing and a must get. I couldn't stop eating them! I got the birria grilled cheese and the portion was huge. The consommé was delicious. So came for brunch , and first of all the music is wayyyyyy too loud . Like seriously - impossible to have a conversation without yelling . My second rime here and I loved it both times. This is a very happening place and us consistently crowded and seems to be drawing a loyal following, which is predominantly Hispanic. Even though it is crowded getting a seat was not an issue as the first time around I git a table but the second time they immediately took me to the var seating. The place is colorful, with a painting of a lady being the centerpiece behind the bar. The patronage seems to be enjoying the music and the food and I even witnessed a Birthday where the staff sang a cheerful song accompanied by clapping. There is a variety of food choices with Tacos, Quesadillas, Arepas and the likes, however I felt the main attraction was the Birria, so went ahead and ordered the Birria Special, which was "BIrria, Mexican Rice, Re-fried Beans, Tortillas, Consome, Cilantro, Onion" The Consome was interesting as you can either pour it over the rice or dip the tortilla in it, but in any case it was very flavorful specially with rice. It is a lot of food for one person, but it allowed me to sample a bit of everything which added to the experience. I came here for Taco Tuesday; There were 3 for $10 taco deals as well as $10 margaritas. The staff were super nice and great but the food fell short of that. We ordered the guac and chips as an appetizer. It was the first time we tasted cold guacamole; the pieces of tomatoes were almost icy. Makes me conclude, not everything is made fresh to the order. I'm used to that high quality table side guac. This one couldn't compare. The meat from my carnita taco was tough, should have been tender. The chicken and the steak tacos were mid. The birria taco bowl was drizzled with a weird cheese whiz and the meat was pretty dry for birria. I prefer real cheese. The rice was also weird; it had green peas and stuff mixed in. Not the best combination. The margaritas were served in small glasses filled with ice. I had a few, it was tasty, but smaller than average drink portion. This spot was nice and clean. What an outstanding lunch. I read the reviews and decided to give them a try, and I am so glad I did. The restaurant is a mix between Mexican and Venezuelan food. The staff was very helpful in explaining the menu. The restaurant is on the small side but they are still set up for dining in if you like. They have about 3 tables and a counter you can dine at. We chose to dine in and it was great. My girlfriend had 2 tacos ( chorizo and Al pastor). I had the carne asada quesadillas. Both meals were absolutely delicious! They were so packed with flavor. We loved them. We also had an order of chips and salsa, the salsa was probably the best salsa I ever had. It is so chunky and had a touch of spice. Near five star first experience at Mil Sabores. The biggest downfall was that the birria pizzadilla came without the consume that we also had ordered. While the pizzadilla was outstanding without the consume, it definitely would have kicked the flavor up a knotch. We also loved the Reina pepiada arepa. The arepa was light but also filling at the same time and reminded us of the flavor of a southern biscuit. We variety of salsas that accompanied our order were fun to experiment with. We wanted to try a restaurant we hadn't been to before and found this gem on yelp. First impressions were high as it has a beautiful mural on the side wall. Walking in we noticed they have a lovely outdoor patio for warmer months. We were seated promptly and Johnny brought us waters and took our drink order. He is the bartender so was pulling triple duty in host, server and bartender. We ordered a beer and a glass of wine. He showed us the bottle, poured me a sip and swirled it for me. I tasted it, lovely. Not many servers take the time anymore, so a welcome change. Johnny ordered the steak arepa off the lunch menu and I ordered two steak tacos. Omg, the arepa is huge and so tasty. He brought multiple salsas and two bottles of aioli. My tacos were beyond amazing, so delicious. Full of meat with onions and cilantro. The ladies bathroom is immaculately clean and decorated nicely. So it was take out, and I haven't been inside their location yet. The food however is of great quality and quantity, not to forget it is delicious! I had the birria burrito and it was big and richly filled with tastiness. My wife had the Carne Asada Arepa and she loved it. I have been obsessed with this place since I first went their. My only problem is the tacos are SO GOOD I never want to try anything else. The atmosphere is clean and the dining area is smaller but they are expanding which is exciting! Service is always kind and quick. I have tried every taco on the menu and love them all but my favorite is the Al Pastor which is a marinated pork with pineapple. It is such a good combination. I tried their arepa one time and it was amazing. It is stuffed with meat and very filling. They do not skimp out. The sauces they have are great on the tacos and arepas. First time and won't be returning- Made reservations (which they charge 50$) for a friends birthday. We asked about happy hour when we called and were told they had it until 6. When we arrived we were told there was no happy hour on Fridays to then be told that it just "wasn't the system". Even though we had a paid reservation they wouldn't sit us until all people arrived. Ive been here twice and by noon its 3/4 busy till 12:45. So get here early or late lunch. We ordered the pizzadilla which was a beautiful 12 inch, 8 sliced, 1 inch thick work of art. It was filled with 2,layers of shredded beef (birria), cheese and 3 layers of tortillas. Our waiter was right - its enough to feed 2-3 grown men and leftovers. The pizzadilla was flavorful and had a little bite of heat in the meat. The restaurant was comfortably setup with two corner booths and the rest small tables. We were really looking forward to trying Mil Sabores in Bridgeport for the first time, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. We came as a family with our baby, and despite several open tables in the restaurant, the staff insisted on seating us at a tiny table for two. When we politely asked if we could sit at one of the available larger tables to accommodate our baby, the girl behind the bar refused and mentioned something about needing a reservation. This was confusing because we had checked the website beforehand and saw no mention of reservations being required. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, especially for first-time guests. We ended up leaving without eating, which was frustrating and upsetting. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and trains their staff to be more considerate and flexible--especially when it comes to families and first-time visitors. read more

We went around 11:20AM. They had insanely loud club type music, you couldn't hear anything others were saying. Wild that they had music that loud in the morning/noon. It took 1 hour to get our food and they took their time doing marketing first by recording the food before giving it to us. Food was mid, especially the nachos. Good food, not cheap for what is really take out. On a whim, I took the kids to Mil Sabors. I thought there were more tables inside but realized this is basically take out only. Food was excellent. We enjoyed tacos, pernil arepa, elotes and fresh chips & guac. After a prolonged silence (as they devoured dinner) #1 & #2 sons pronounced that the food was "ok." They have discriminating tastes and this is very high praise. If the subject isn't sports, I'm lucky to get two word answers. During our dinner, the phone was ringing, the delivery app tablets beeping and the door was barely closed for all the early evening activity. Surely the massive business is a testament to the quality of the food. Find word: I won't dine in there again but I won't have to. Management informed us they are moving closer into Black Rock and will have full table service and proper sit down accommodations. Can't wait! read more

I will no longer be a customer here which is very unfortunate. I always have enjoyed the food and service and left 20%+ gratuity. Tonight is the 1st time I noticed not only an auto gratuity added of 17% but also taxed on the gross amount! No where on the menu or is it stated by staff that this is the policy. A line item on the receipt. I have been in the restaurant bar industry my entire life, this is a deceptive and immoral practice! For starters we had Baja fish tacos and shrimp tacos . Both were fresh and flavorful. Chicken nachos and Birria nachos were also on the spread. Last the Birria pizza which was absolutely delicious. After a few weeks of liking all of their posts, I took my two teenage sons to their Fairfield Ave location for lunch. Our server was very nice and attentive. I ordered the birria taco and the Al pastor. The Al pastor was good, the birria was amazing! The sopa was delicious- I wish I had ordered two tacos for more dipping! My 14 year old had the birria ramen which he liked and the 16 year old got a plate with pork, beans, plaintains, egg, rice, and an arepa. I forgot what it was called, but he devoured it!
