One thing I will give the place credit for is that the bartenders were really nice, but when I came to the food it just was not worth it and it's super overpriced. I spent $21 + $3 for the avocados on the side (which they didn't even give me) for bierria quesadillas. They don't even cut them into slices. It didn't even look like a quesadilla I had to cut them myself. Another thing was the nonalcoholic beer was seven dollars, and it didn't even taste good. Where are we Los Angeles? Stopped in on Sunday @ 5pm and we were told the Happy Hour is every day until 6pm (at the bar). We sat at the bar and got tacos/tacodillas and margaritas. The bartenders were friendly and checked in on us multiple times to make sure we were okay with food/drinks. The classic margarita was strong and delicious. I got the al pastor tacos. Our first visit to Taco Guy did not disappoint! First off, I should say that the service is stellar. We had the pleasure of being served by the Taco Guy himself, who was so friendly and welcoming. We started with the frozen margarita, which was delicious with a kick. For our app, we enjoyed the Queso Fundito, which was great (the tortillas taste so fresh). Don't let the silly name, or the picture of the taco truck fool you into thinking this is some dive taco truck or shop. In fact, this is what Mexican fine/fun dining should be. And don't get discouraged by the paper take-out menus either... (come on guys, you can step this up). The restaurant is warm and cozy inside with a great vibe. The staff are friendly, happy and attentive. The drinks are crafted with care and the food... forget it. I'm so glad I told my wife I was not going to stay home with her and eat take-out Bar Taco.... I left her... for this, and it was worth every moment. The Flautas De Papa Queso where quite surprising & unexpected from the ones I've had elsewhere. Amazing, I'll just leave it at that. The Suadero Taco ... not your Mom's Ortega to say the least. Short rib love is ready for you. The Sope, shrimp me more please. Thank goodness for boxes because I am definitely eating this tomorrow for lunch. This thing was absolutely scrumptious. It took all my willpower to stop eating so as not to make myself ill from overconsumption. The Pork Al Pastor Tlayuda... damn it, I don't have room to order it... but I can tell you this, the person next to me had it who'd never been here, he only stopped eating because he was clearly full, 90% gone and the rest went home. I mean, who can possible resist a coal-fired pizza oven concoction such as this? This is def my new go to for MX in this area. As far as just how awesome it is, the food alone is worth driving a good distance, the people who work hear are however the icing on the cake. Next time you want MX, and you aren't looking for the Americanized crap, do yourself a favor and come here. Look, I'm going to give them 4 stars for the food! The portions are small and frankly overpriced in my opinion! The tacos are served with one simple tortilla, and did not appreciate serving my beer in glass, prefer bottle and glass. Will pour myself! This was our second time here and i don't know why we waited this long to come back. This is our favorite taco spot!! We had the avocado, carnitas, fish, chicken.... Everyyy taco. It comes 2 tacos per order which is perfect to share. They're generously portioned and the flavor is on point! It has a cozy bar with awesome bartenders but the spot in general is long and spacious. According to my wife, the best margarita she has ever had! We both had the tacos and they were delicious! I agree with another review that I saw which said "don't let the name and the taco truck fool you". This is a nice little restaurant with a nice vibe, very friendly service and delicious food. My only suggestion might be to offer a three taco dish for those wanting a bit more than just the two tacos per menu choice. We will be going back soon!! read more

Went to celebrate a friend's birthday. I had ask the waiter multiple times about a certain dish about whether or not if it had peanuts in it due to a food allergy. But the waiter that we had didn't seem sure or confident in his answer until we had to request him to ask the chef. Also it took a while to get our food and drink order in. To also if we wanted a refill or some salsas we had to ask again a few times due to it taking a while. The appetizers that a few of the of my friends had didn't seem like they didn't have enough flavor. It was a bit disappointing. But the tacos and quesadillas that we had were good and had more flavor.The tortillas tasted fresh. A few people at the table had ordered alcoholic beverages, and those came out great as well. The location is not bad, we had sat outside since it was a nice day. Parking wasn't hard to find plenty of street parking. I would possibly go again but just for the tacos. read more

We had an amazing experience. Starting with Juliana our waitress, she was on point and was very pleasant. We are always looking for interesting places to stop on our trips Between Boston and New York City. The Taco Guy did not disappoint. Everything we had was fresh and flavorful--a bit spicy but in a way that tasted good even to my tame palate. Lots of fresh lime in everything! We enjoyed the ceviche and scallop entrees and then shared fish and short rib tacos. Loved everything. The service is very friendly. This is the second time the non profit I work for hired Adrian and his team to serve tacos at an event. On time, efficient, friendly (say hello to Ana too - sweetheart!) they make a great team and dazzled the crowd with their Pork belly tacos and Chicken Tinga. The truck is a work of art, diverse, modern and clean. Everything is fresh tasting, served quickly and easy to eat. I'm not down w/ $14 chips & guac. There is no chips & salsa, even at happy hour - which I remember being cheap enough to give away. Avocados cost $1.66 at Stop & Shop. Nice corn chips cost $4.59. No one is flying up limes from the tropics. You are not paying for live music, an amazing sunset water view, or an organic farm to table menu. This is like being mugged for $10 when you try to purchase chips. $10 happy hour margarita is tiny. Waitress not super attentive - even w/ only one table, forgot half our order. Wednesday is my new favorite taco day. My experience at Third place in Stamford was just that. Exceptional at every point. First time getting to see Taco guy in action and it was a family affair. Food was delicious, my daughter loved the chicken tinga, dilla tacos. All tortillas made by hand by the owners mom. The owner Christian was hand writing orders and delivering them to tables as they became ready while keeping them crowd informed of choices and making recommendations of which sauces to use. I liked the orange very spicy one. Third place kept guests at proper spacing between tables and proper sanitation throughout table turns. Highlighting their half full brews was a great pair with the tacos, on this warm summer day. I had the cauliflower tacos as I'm a relatively new vegetarian and they did not lack flavor which was such a win. Also was able to try some Tepache, a traditional Mexican pineapple drink (non-alc) which my daughter loved too. I've never been to a Taco truck before where the consistency from hospitality to incredible food came full circle and this was all that and more. Experienced The Taco Guy for first time at Third Place by Half Full. The tacos taste great: you have carnitas, chicken, pork, steak, and a veggie option plus guac, yum! We got the chicken and chorizo I believe, loved it. Decent sized tacos with a lot of toppings. Good taste, hot sauce is on point. Dip small quantities haha. Definetly a fun truck to have at a brewery. Our experience had a little hiccup though as we waited on line 3 separate times to order after a stove malfunction - so we kept checking back and were told we'd be notified. Then we saw people back in line getting tacos and as we approached the front were told they were sold out? I would recommend more than just a bell for patrons to hear over music and crowds that the stove or truck is serving food again. Long story short, we went up again after then seeing one of our friends ordering (after we got turned away) and turns out they had some meat and stuff left so we got our order in.
