Back for my second visit at Alma Bistro, once again they do not disappoint. Every plate we ordered was exceptional. Food and service is always great. Needless to say more.

Bright, airy place with calming music playing. The food is excellent. I came in for Sunday brunch and had a weeps brunch special, which was kind of like a deconstructed arepa. It came as scrambled egged with arepa bread in pieces around the eggs. The eggs were fantastic and overall it was a great dish. I also tried the birria tacos because it seems a specialty of the place and they were very good. I could go without the dipping sauce though.

We picked a random place in Norwalk Connecticut and it worked out fine. It was a nice cozy spot with great food and friendly staff. The menu is not extensive but it covers the basics. I ordered the red sangria and it was pretty good, not too sweet and had a nice blend. Then you can't go wrong with guacamole and chips. It was a beautiful presentation. The guacamole was seasoned to perfection. I also ordered the spicy beef empanadas with yuca fries. The empanadas wasn't that spicy and the yuca fries had a nice crispness to it. The rest room was very charming and gave a nice relaxation vibe. Overall, this was a nice spot and I would definitely come back again.

Food was good and there was a good selection of choices from small plates to dessert and drinks. There is street parking, so heads up.

This is the first restaurant I can truly say earned 5 stars. The restaurant was clean, cute and inviting. This restaurant is located in the heart of Wall Street in Norwalk with plenty of street parking and a garage around the corner. The staff was very attentive with great attitudes. They checked in on us frequently to make sure we were good or if we needed anything else and the service was quick. Special Shoutout to the Chef! He, aside from cooking the amazing meals, came to check in on us as well. The food was just amazing! They had a variety of small dishes on the menu that make it perfect to dine tapas style if that's what you prefer. They also have larger entrees for bigger appetites. The ribeye a la plancha would have to be my favorite. The chimichurri sauce was so delicious and the ribeye was cooked to perfection! My guests were very fond of the special of the today which was a cauliflower cheesy dish. I would love to return for dinner and try the rest of menu. I cannot recommend this place enough and will be including it in my usual rotation.

Alma Bistro has the best happy hour! The staff is friendly and helpful, the ample portions of delicious food make dining in downtown Norwalk very special - and affordable.

We stopped in for a late lunch and essentially had the place to ourselves. The restaurant was very bright and vibrant. As soon as we got in the staff was very pleasant and sat us right away. The hostess and waiter were very nice and helpful. For our meal my girlfriend had the birra tacos which were very tasty. I had the steak with chimichurri sauce. It was cooked at a perfect medium temperature. My steak was served with yucca fries which were tasty. I also had a side order of Brussel sprouts which were perfectly cooked. The meal was delicious; to end the meal we had a dessert called milhojas which translates to a thousand leaves. It was delicious, puff pastry with crème anglaise and berries. It was so good.

I just didn't enjoy the food here! Stopped in on a road trip and saw so many great reviews, I figured I'd dine in. The waiters and waitresses were so welcoming and they had plenty of space. Nice music playing but not what I thought! The salmon with pineapple was over seasoned and entirely too sweet. The Brussels sprouts were just ok (would have loved them to be crispy). Decent spot with great service, but the food just didn't do it for me.

We had to ask for a bigger table and was led towards the end. Very interesting menu, we had the pu'er tea, which is not very commonly offered in the Chinese restaurants in the area. Love the teapot presentation and overall the branding effort. We tried to order the soup dumpling but was told something wasn't working properly and it's going to take over an hour so next time. Got wontons in chili oil, love the flavor. The mushu pork, a little bit too sweet for me. And the beef chow fun, just can't go wrong with that, and the szichuan pot with cumin lamp. I think this more authentic Chinese but my husband felt the lamb was too oily. I requested to get the little cute cat cup for my daughter's lemonade order and they said yes, so it was a very cute touch. Very happy with the visit definitely a lot of potential we will be back.

Overall, loved my experience and can't wait to go back to try more menu items.

My friend works nearby, so she met up with me for some tapas and drinks during happy hour, since my keys were next door. I wasn't hungry, so I just sampled everything she ordered. She had fried calamari which was beautifully presented, the hanger steak with green chimichurri, Eggplant Tablao (fresh mozzarella, fried eggplant, and warm tomato ragu), and the warm goat cheese with marinara sauce and pesto crostini. (Portion was super small) oh yeah, we also had the paellera consisting of chorizo, chicken, pork, clams, mussels, shrimp. The bread with olive oil was a nice simple touch as well. For drinks, we had a margarita and a Manhattan. The Manhattan was amazing...the fresh orange zest really elevated the drink and infused it with a bright citrus aroma right away. Definitely recommend trying it! We had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, Luis. You can tell he truly takes pride in his craft and creating an experience for his guests. The desserts were a highlight too, the peach empanada was nice and warm, buttery, paired perfectly with the ice cream and icing, and the banana pudding was smooth, classic, and comforting with the nilla wafer crumble and fresh banana.
