I tried Greer's Famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken 4 pieces, 1 each of breast, thigh, wing, and drumstick, cornbread and sorghum honey butter, cole slaw, and I chose mac & cheese as my side. The chicken was the highlight, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and really well seasoned. You can tell it was freshly made. The cornbread was also really good, soft, warm, slightly sweet, and even better with the sorghum honey butter. The mac & cheese was great. it was rich, creamy, and felt homemade in the best way. I'm not usually a fan of cole slaw, and this one was a bit watery, I should have asked if I could swap it out. The desserts were a highlight too, the peach empanada was nice and warm, buttery, paired perfectly with the ice cream and icing, and the banana pudding was smooth, classic, and comforting with the nilla wafer crumble and fresh banana. Even my starter arugula lemon vinaigrette salad was delicious. Service was excellent and attentive, and the ambiance is definitely upscale and stylish. This review is based on my personal experience on May 10, 2026 (Mother's Day). Top shelf Bloody Mary, best ever Deviled Eggs, and the Fried Chicken brought a tear to the Colonel's eye. The dining room at the new location is fantastic. Open and bright. Much better than the older location down by the aquarium, which is now a new Jamaican restaurant. The place was crazy busy for Mother's Day. We arrived early, but the kitchen was instantly overwhelmed. It took over an hour to get our entrees. Not really all so bad since we got to spend extra time with our dear mother, and the food was exceptional when it finally arrived. I love their ranch sauce and the difference in textures of the fried coating and fresh green tomatoes that's slightly cooked from getting fried. I got their Icelandic Cod - which was cooked PERFECTLY. It tasted light and fresh with the coconut milk and saffron sauce, the fish itself was perfectly flaky.. This was my second time to Greer Southern Table this month. Each time I've been, the waitstaff, hosts, and managers on duty have been extremely attentive and kind. Last night we had a girls night and Greer did not disappoint! We started with the cauliflower bites, char-grilled, fried green tomatoes, and warm crawfish dip. The bites and tomatoes were fried to perfection; crunchy goodness! For the dip, they were not shy with the crawfish; every scoop had an ample portion of well-seasoned meat. & as for the oysters, I was so happy to find a place outside of New Orleans that made these!! The best part about them was that they were HUGE!! I'm talking each one bigger than my hand! Just amazing. For my entree I decided to go with one of the specials. I had the cajun crawfish and andouille sausage pasta. My only critique was that it lacked seasoning. It felt like they relied on the saltiness of the sausage and parmesan cheese, but I found myself adding a lot of salt and pepper at the table. Regardless, I ate the whole thing so clearly it was not that big of an issue! & while we skipped over dessert, because we were rightfully stuffed, I made sure to order the thing I had been waiting for and thinking about ALL DAY; their lavender cappuccino. Service is great, our host Gabe was so sweet and accommodating. There's a great selection of drinks. But the star of the show is the food! About as perfect as it gets. I stopped by here for an earlyish dinner (5pm) this past Saturday with my mother, a CT native who lives in northern Fairfield County. This was my first time, I think, in this downtown area of Norwalk, which is...an odd area. It looks like they haphazardly gentrified it five minutes ago, and no one knows it yet. I did enjoy the super wide streets and easy parking. Like a true adulting professional, I checked Greer's website beforehand and followed their recommendation to download the ParkMobile app, which is easy enough to use that you can probably just download it when you park somewhere - maybe I saved 15 seconds. But regardless, drama-free. My mother parked in the parking garage next door and reported no issues. Very pleasant atmosphere inside; airy with a lot of good lighting. I showed up first and was warmly greeted by multiple members of the staff (which I think was a coincidence; one or two extra just happened to be in the area at the time, but a nice touch nonetheless) and led to a table in the garden room by the window and POS system. Several of the cocktails looked intriguing, but I decided to go with the Rosemary Maple Bourbon Sour. Right choice. Having "sour" in the name can be a risk - I've had sours where that particular taste was just overpowering - but it was an excellent blend. The natural sweetness of the bourbon and the maple inclusion really balanced everything out. I had two of these bad boys, and quite willingly. I'd intently studied the menu ahead of time and intended to order the crawfish dip, but then saw a crawfish andouille pasta dish on the specials menu and obviously had to pivot last minute. Something tells me I wouldn't have gone wrong either way, but this was delicious. Super flavorful without being overwhelming, and a solid portion that still allowed for some room for dessert. It's a shame the crawfish are small, but that's just the burden of living in the Northeast - high taxes, small crawfish. And arguably, the small crawfish and lighter pasta allowed some room for a scrumptious dessert - I can never pass up maple bacon donuts. A delight, and very obviously made to order. I can't speak for everyone, but two of them was the perfect serving size for me but I imagine people who are less barbaric are satisfied with just one. The service was magnificent. Our waitress Sarah (sp?) was an absolute delight, stopping by regularly and providing a lot of welcome, personal input regarding various items on the menu. Just very warm and friendly, and that type of hospitality touch makes a difference. Loved her; a huge asset for the restaurant. I'm rarely in this area but it's nice to know there's an excellent option just off 95 that I can go to in lieu of one of the myriad of rest stops. Huge recommend. read more

This was a fun brunch! A waiter told me there's no charge for parking on Sundays, but perhaps do a bit of research yourself. I got one of the 7 or 8 spots in the Greer lot for a Sunday brunch. There's street parking and a garage nearby. Parking is quite a business operation in Norwalk. My wife and I tried Greer brunch to pass some time and it was delightful. Fresh atmosphere, good service and good food. The mimosas for $23 were great. While they aren't bottomless, they allow you to have 5 total pours. 1 + 4 refills... And they make them nice and strong. It's a good champagne to orange juice ratio. We stopped without needing the last refill. The crawfish dip was tasty, liked by both of us and we finished the whole platter. It comes with house chips that are swamp dusted. Overall, warm, yummy and addicting. The shrimp and grits was a little bland, but ok and maybe my wife didn't care for it much because we just scarfed another creamy dish. The bacon that comes with it was delicious!! My thigh high chicken sandwich was yummy! Crisp, juicy, flavorful and just a nice filling choice. The service here was great, very attentive and even after paying, the maitre'd offered us more Mimosa without even knowing how much we already had. We declined as we had over an hour drive home. They went above and beyond to make things right, and we are truly thankful. Jessica was once again in charge of our table and was exceptional. Her warmth, humor, and attentiveness made us feel completely at home. She was the bright spot during our first visit and once again proved what a wonderful representative she is for the restaurant. The food was very good, and this time we sat indoors. The restaurant is warm, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated, with natural and organic elements that give it real charm and a welcoming, at-home feeling. Looking back, our first experience appears to have been a one-off late-night mishap. What matters is that Greer and her team listened, apologized, and genuinely cared enough to make things right. Original Review We arrived at Greer Southern Table at approximately 7:45 p.m., with the restaurant scheduled to close at 9:00 p.m. Our waitress, Jessica, was excellent from the moment we arrived. She was warm, welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made us feel genuinely appreciated as customers. We ordered several appetizers and the catfish entrée as our main course. About 20 minutes after we had already ordered, another family arrived and was seated inside. Roughly 10 minutes later, Jessica returned to our table looking uncomfortable and told us she had some bad news. She even joked that we were about to meet someone "not as nice as me." Unfortunately, she wasn't wrong. A few moments later, the owner approached our table. She was curt, dismissive, and visibly irritated, making no effort to show empathy or concern for the situation. Instead of apologizing, she bluntly informed us that they would not be serving our catfish, collard greens, or the Greer salad we had ordered. When we asked why, we were told there was only one catfish left, and it had been given to the family who arrived after us. That was astonishing. We had placed our order first and had already been waiting for our meal. Yet the restaurant chose to fulfill the order of customers who arrived 20 minutes later instead of honoring ours. Whether this was due to poor inventory management or another business decision, it left us feeling that our business simply didn't matter. What disappointed us even more was the complete lack of a sincere apology or any meaningful attempt by the owner to make the situation right. Running out of an item is understandable. Failing to honor the first order placed and treating customers as though that's perfectly acceptable is not. Jessica, however, handled the situation with genuine professionalism. She came back to our table, pulled up a chair, sincerely apologized, and even offered us dessert on the house. She did everything she could to salvage what had become a very disappointing evening. She deserves recognition because she was the only person who showed genuine concern for our experience. As for the food, it was good, but not exceptional. I don't particularly enjoy heavy Southern cuisine, but even so, several dishes arrived lukewarm and somewhat bland. I've had far better Southern food throughout the South, as well as in Harlem and the Bronx. My biggest complaint isn't the food--it's the way management treated us. We came in well before closing, ordered first, waited patiently, and then were told our meal had been given to customers who arrived later. That is simply unacceptable customer service. We really love this restaurant for brunch. The staff is very friendly and the owner is too. She has been there several times while I've dined to greet patrons with a friendly face. The pickled deviled eggs are delish. Don't miss the chicken wings though, they're crispy and cooked to perfection with a homemade ranch dipping sauce. Everything on the menu is fresh and clever with a southern flare. The chicken and waffles are chefs kiss! The biscuits and gravy are great too but don't miss the beef tallow burger. I stayed in the Norwalk and Stamford area for almost two weeks for work, went out to dinner every night, and this was the best place we tried. It is a bustling, loud, giant dining room and bar area. The food ranges from very good to fantastic. The service is on point, and the wait staff is well trained. If a server does not know the answer to a question, they say so and step out to run the question by the chef or manager and give the answer promptly. There were a couple issues with food temperature on a fish or two, and truthfully their self-stated signature dish - the fried chicken was bland, one guest in our party asked for two types of bourbon that both had about an ounce left in the bottle, but on the third try they had Knob Creek... but overall this is a very very good restaurant with an impressive cocktail menu made by skilled bartenders, an inventive southern inspired menu, and courteous and attentive servers. I've eaten at Greer 3 times over the course of this summer and it has always been an amazing experience. Most recently, my friend and I ate there this past Sunday and my dish was delicious - the fried green tomato parm (I requested it after tasting it during my second visit with my mom). Greer was nice enough to make this dish specifically for me even though it wasn't even on their weekend brunch menu. The manager (?) who I spoke to on the phone (Merrily/Marilee/not sure of the spelling) was completely willing to accommodate my request which meant a lot to me. Our server, Tessa, was splendid and very attentive. Overall phenomenal experiences, highly recommend. HOLY MOLY! I've been wanting to try this place and it was KILLER! First, our waiter was excellent - he was super kind and even went over the menu with us, highlighting the specialties. We started our lunch with espresso martinis which were nice and smooth (brownie points for three beans). For our meals, we both ordered the two piece fried chicken plate which comes with corn bread, coleslaw, and your choice of side. We both opted for the mac and cheese and it proved to be the perfect choice. It was beyond amazing. The chicken was cooked to perfection; juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Evidently, I went at a bad time when they were transitioning between lunch to dinner. Food was good and quality, but what the rich taste of down south as I believe they don't add tons of butter. My family enjoyed a wonderful dinner on Wednesday, 4/8, at Greer's Southern Table--it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. Santos, our server, was outstanding: attentive, knowledgeable, engaging, and courteous throughout the evening. His service was impeccable. The young man who bused our table (I regret not getting his name) was equally impressive--efficient and especially kind and responsive to my 94-year-old father's needs, which meant a great deal to our family.
