Five star dining experience on a cozy winter night! We loved our meals from start to finish at The Spread and were treated with prompt service and kindness. Love the rustic ambiance. Red sangria was also great!

Excellent service. Great food. Wonderful ambiance. Close to everything Norwalk has to offer. What a wonderful place to have a good time!

Context: * Solo dining, Thursday 5pm (1hr after opens) * Ordered "Brick Chicken" Food: * Generous portion size! * Chicken was excellent, juicy, good flavor * Polenta good compliment - pretty basic * Mixed Greens served in same saucer style dish, so they were saturated in the chicken stock (difficult to eat) * Meal came with nice biscuit and whipped butter! Experience * Very pretty inside! * Wasn't busy (just me and another couple), but very slow * Staff friendly but not super attentive given the amount of patrons * Overall happy, wasn't in a rush so didn't mind waiting. Would ask for the salad to be served on the side next time.

We were looking to try a new spot and visit the new mall in Norwalk. Found this on Yelp. It was ok. I tried the eggs and grits. My mom got the fried chicken sandwich which - although very nicely seasoned - was not fried at all. I ordered the French toast which was the best part of the meal. Really yummy!! We ordered bottomless mimosas for $20 each and they kept the glasses full. Service was decent - even though we were looking for our server at times, there were other staff that we asked for what we needed. It's a very cute place. The outdoor set up is nice as well. While we're glad to have tried it , we probably won't return.

Ambiance: pretty cool place with a nice setup. The outdoor-ish area allowed me to bring my dog which was nice for a rainy April day! This area has a fireplace and a small tv which was great to catch the nba playoffs. Service was overall good as there were a lot of people floating around helping out. The cajun chicken sammy was awesome! Delicious and grilled which was different from usual fried chicken sandwiches. BLT was massive but just ok as it was a bit dry. Both dishes came with a ton of fries which were good too. The salad was solid. I would come back here for sure just given the vibe, service, and chicken sandwich.

So good! Cappuccino was amazing and food was great. The biscuits were perfect. Will return for brunch.

My fiancé and I were headed to the Norwalk Aquarium, so we wanted to check out a restaurant nearby for Saturday brunch yesterday. We liked the menu, so I made reservations for standard seating (specifically NOT selecting high tops or outdoor). We excitedly entered but did not feel very welcomed. If the standard dining room table was not an option, it should not be available on open table. We ordered two iced coffees. The staff brought us iced teas instead. When they brought the coffees it did not have the right milk. It took a few tries, but once we got the correct order it was delicious. I ordered the Shakshuka which was delicious and came with a ton of pita. My partner got the BLT, which he enjoyed as well. All in all, the food is fantastic and ambiance was great. Service needs some work.

"Now your smile is spreading thin Seems you're trying not to lose Since I'm not supposed to win" (David Bowie) What a lovely brunch we had yesterday! We were in Norwalk to visit the Maritime Center, and made brunch reservations to sit outside at The Spread. They seemed to have as much table space outside as they had inside. The setting was gorgeous, inside a big courtyard next to a big splash fountain for the kiddies to play in. Oh, and they have a big outdoor bar too for the adults to play in. Our table ordered from their brunch menu - a $12 Smoked Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwich plate, and a #12 Veggie Omelet Plate with squash, zucchini, feta, jalapeno hollandaise, and dressed baby greens. My omelet was great -a big portion chock full of veggies and that nice jalapeno hollandaise as an exclamation point. In contrast, the soup and sandwich plate looked rather skimpy for the same price. The service and atmosphere were stellar, and we really enjoyed the outdoor experience on this beautiful summer day.

We ventured out to The Spread after hearing great things from friends and were very happy with it! To start, we each got a cocktail. I loved the forbidden fruit (purple cocktail). It was tasty and pretty! The waiter then brought over some cornbread which was different but yummy. We started with the elephant butter grilled oysters. I'd give those a 2.5/5. We both didn't enjoy them and compared to other grilled oysters we've had, these weren't great. We really enjoyed the mushroom spread bread. It's a perfect app to get for the table while waiting for dinner. My entree was the brick chicken and I can't say enough about it. It was amazing! Crispy skin and juicy chicken. The waiter told us it takes about 30 mins to prepare the brick chicken as an FYI because they're made to order but it didn't take that long and even if it did, it would be worth the wait! I loved the greens on the side and the sauce the chicken was accompanied by was incredible. I don't care for polenta, but my mom who does like it said it was amazing! She enjoyed the halibut. Again, the fish was perfectly crispy melt in your mouth paired with an amazing refreshing veggie medly. Finally, the vibe of The Spread is killer! Their decor is beautiful and it was lively and fun in there. We did have a difficult time speaking with a lot of the staff there, there may have been a little bit of a language barrier, but that didn't hinder our experience at all. We've been raving about The Spread to friends and we'll be back!

The food, drinks and atmosphere were solid - let's start there. Went as a large group (20 people, mostly couples, mid 30's) to celebrate the new year on December 30th, 2023. We did a prix fixe menu @ $65/person (not including alcohol). The entire bill including tax and tip was $4,300 or $215 per person. We were drinking - you're going to wet the whistle with friends for New Years... but we got exploited. We contacted the restaurant, and they were willing to talk. Here is what they said: "7.8 per person or just over 1.5 drinks per hour, which is not a stretch (even with some females and drivers included)" Mind you - we had 10 women there (one of them pregnant). Key takeaway: we were either overcharged for drinks or over served. Just dropping this review so they don't feel like they "got away with it."

The Spread is an American restaurant and cocktail bar that opened in Norwalk, Connecticut in October 2012. It was founded by business partners Andrey Cortes, Chris Hickey, Chris Rasile and Shawn Longyear. The four partners all had bartending experience and together they worked at a variety of restaurants in Fairfield County. Eventually they decided to go into business together and open their own restaurant using the combined knowledge they had gained over the years. After securing a location in South Norwalk, they enlisted the help of General Manager Juan Meyer and Executive Chef Carlos Baez. I recently visited the Spread with my wife and son. We were meeting up with my in-laws for brunch. There was great weather on the day we visited so we asked to be seated outside. To drink, I ordered a "Bottomless Bellini" which came in an orange color instead of the usual pink. This was because they make theirs with Prosecco and Passionfruit (not Peach). It was an interesting new take on a classic cocktail and very tasty. To eat, my wife and I both ordered the "Ricotta Gnocchi" (sage velouté sauce). The only difference is that I ordered it topped with Braised Veal and my wife ordered it topped with Wild Mushrooms and Gruyere. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic! For our son, we ordered a "Fresh Mozzarella Flat Bread" off of the Kid's Menu and he happily gobbled it down. My father-in-law ordered the "Shakshuka" (pepper & onion tomato sauce, baked eggs, feta, toasted pita) and my mother-in-law ordered the "Veggie Omelet" (squash, zucchini, feta, jalapeño hollandaise, baby greens). We also ordered a plate of "Truffle Fries" for the table. Everyone was thoroughly happy with their food choices! Excellent food, excellent location, and excellent Bottomless Bellinis!

    Is bottomless brunch still available?

If you are inquiring about bottomless mimosas, yes. We do not have a bottomless brunch as in “all you can eat”. See you soon!

Do they have a bottomless brunch beverage available?

Yes we do, every Saturday and Sunday

Do I need to make a reservation for brunch on the weekends?

Highly recommended! We are quite busy and have been more reliant on them since they became mandatory with Covid regulations

This year for my 35th, I was on my own for dinner this time around. That being said, I think I found a winner here to celebrate my 35th birthday. Say hello to Lazy Sister, located in the heart of South Norwalk where the restaurant scene comes alive! Because I was a single coming in, I was seated right away, no reservation needed. They were even kind enough to place my bag in the atrium so that I wouldn't have it in the way. I was seated at a table set for two, but it's a good thing I guess that I came on my own. First thing I notice upon coming in is that it is a very classy restaurant, not your typical dim sum joint. It's also not a big space, but that's fine by me. Honestly, this would make a great date night spot for anyone going out on a date. Funny enough, I was actually suggested this place by my friend the night I went to Jacob's Pickles. For reasons I am about to get to, I am glad I decided not to come here until a later date. So why would I say that? Well, because tonight, my order consisted of two Junmai Genshu "Little Sumo" sakes as well as the Salt & Pepper Calamari, a medium level Dry Fry Style Szechuan Chicken, and then the Fortune Cookie Soft Serve for dessert. Not only did I pay more here, but I also got more inebriated here than I did at Jacob's Pickles. But it's my birthday, so tonight it's not in my contract to care. You only live once, and I am already in like the middle of my life, so it all evens out, right? Speaking of the food, everything I ate was immaculate! The calamari was seasoned perfectly, vegetables were cooked and crisp, the spice from that Szechuan didn't overpower. It was more like a pleasant tingle, especially when mixed with water or sake. Everything was done just right. And that soft serve cooled me down in just the right way. Delicious and well worth finishing off the night! And while there were other drinks that definitely looked good, I couldn't say no to sake. That's like THE ultimate celebratory drink far as I'm concerned, and it was awesome! If you were wondering about the service, these people are quite friendly. They help you through anything you might need. While I waited a while to tell them, I did eventually tell my waitress it was birthday while I was on dessert. Cool enough, we are both Tauri! I love it when I get to talk to another Taurus! :) The bill was also why I am glad I waited for another occasion to come here. Because I decided to splurge, the affair was about $100 once tip was factored in. It was well worth it, and tonight's outing will definitely make for a fun story to tell. But 34 was a hard year. I deserve to let loose every now and then, and hopefully 35 will be a happier age. All in all, a great restaurant and well worth the money to come here.

The bartender was knowledgeable and I trusted him with recommendations. We ordered egg rolls and the wontons in chili oil. Everything was tasty, wish the chili oil was more spicy but the flavor was amazing. Day two I sat at a table and ordered the cherry cola, veggie lo mien, and crispy beef. My friends ordered the spring rolls, sesame chicken, and chicken and broccoli. The server accidentally put in a plain lo mien but it was quickly fixed. Both were tasty but it was better with veggies. All entrees were okay. It's your typical local American Chinese food cuisine and I didn't taste or see any difference to it? It did taste a bit more fresh but I wouldn't order again. Overall, the service was good and the ambiance is nice. I prefer this place as a restaurant for yummy drinks and apps before dinner or after work.

We were at the bar during closing time when a man approached one of our friends and told him he was going to slap him in the face (odd behavior from a grown man), and like any other person, our friend replied with "I dare you to, it will not be a good choice for you". They continued at this for a solid 3 minutes before security got involved and became aggressive towards our group more than the man who started it. When the bartender Samar saw what was going on (she witnessed the event), she tried to tell security and the owner that it was not us, but instead the other man. We were all kicked out, and one would think it would end there, but it did not. We were met with racist remarks and aggression from the security guard and the owner, who condoned it. When we were being kicked out the secuirty guard was shoving my husband, and once I saw that I clealry lost it and I was met with a sentence I never thought I'd ever hear "this is America, learn english", which is funny considering 1) I speak perfect english, 2) I have 0 accent, and 3) my spanish is actually horrendous. The owner was there when all of this was happening and did not get involved or tell his employee that it was not ok; instead, he watched and let it be. In this day and age, I find this be inappropriate and insane. We spent over $300 within 2 hours and will no longer be coming here, considering we were met with racism. We as consumers need to know where our money is going, and this establishment made it very clear where they stand. I only say this because, on our way to our car, we were approached by others who had experienced the same situation earlier that night. As a bar that relies on its consumers and is supported by minorities, this establishment should be ashamed.
