I don't do food truck meals, too often, I went off reviews from other websites for the top burritos in my area, and this place popped up. One of my main base lines for Mexican food is a good burrito. Lots of variables what's considered a good burrito This is definitely food truck, connected to another food truck(look at picture). Told him my order over the phone. He took the order in very detailed manner and things they could come with it. My opinion, there weren't many/any beans, very little tomato and small round chunks of meat/chicken(not shredded which I typically get in restaurants). Sadly, the size and quality is definitely less than say a chipotle store. Exterior the truck could certainly use a good cleaning. But it does sit in a parking lot for a tire change place. The staff seemed incredibly nice and even with a cold snowy environment, there's still people there ordering. My son and I grabbed three chicken tacos and three shrimp tacos here on Thursday afternoon. It was drizzling a bit, so the very friendly guy in the truck told me to just wait in my car and he would bring it out to me. He did, with a smile. The shrimp tacos were awesome, along with the green sauce they give you. The green sauce is reportedly, mild, but has a little spice to it, which was perfect. I avoided the red sauce because they said it was hot and I can take some heat, but not that much. Anyway, the chicken tacos were a little dry, but good with the sauce. I think the description mentions a cozy outdoor area, but I completely disagree. It shares a parking lot with some sort of auto maintenance place and the street is quite busy right in front of you. This is our favorite food truck ever in Norwalk. It is so authentic and delicious. The people are so so nice who on the truck. In the winter months you can order your taco sit in your car while you wait so you don't freeze and then the people will call you over when your food is ready. They do have a picnic table right outside of the food truck but other than that people usually eat in their cars or bring the tacos home if you're nearby, you should definitely go and get some because this place is awesome and super casual. read more

It was so goddamn amazing. The chicken quesadilla was also good. My friends had the shrimp tacos and they only had good things to say about it. I didn't enjoy the chicken tacos much so I'm taking a star for it. Overall, the value for the money was 6/5. This is my first time here and I was told this is the highest rated food truck in CT. Everything about this place is great. The food is always great - flavorful, authentic and consistent!! The people who own/run it are great to every customer, every time, flexible in adding or subtracting items in a dish and helpful in guidance over the phone as they are in person. I have been a frequent customer of this truck for a while now. The tacos are delicious and affordable and filling! Lately though, the meat has been burnt and dry on my tacos (I get the beef tacos usually). It seems like the quality of the food is going down. The parking is also annoying there, they share a lot with a garage so it's always a struggle to pull in and pick up my food. I was there two Fridays ago to get my tacos and I like to pay in cash so I always leave the women at the window my change as a tip. The women who work the window are always friendly and sweet, I see how hard they work and it doesn't look like they get a break to even stop and rest so I like to leave them a couple dollars when I stop by. That Friday I left the woman my change as usual and was halfway back to my car when she called me back to the window. I thought I forgot something but when I went back she told me I had to put the change myself in the tip jar. I asked her why and she said it was a new policy they just implemented. I was very annoyed by this and see this as a waste of time. I'm a busy person and don't have much time for my lunch break so why did I have to walk back to put the change in the jar myself when they have always done it before? I told her it was fine and that I left her the change so she could put it in but she insisted that I had to be the one to do it. I did it this time because I was already there and I know it's not the woman's fault but I consider this a waste of time and inconsiderate of their customers. If I pay and tell them to keep the change, that means I'm leaving it as their tip. Any other place I frequent has no issue with this and the employee puts it in the tip jar themselves. I also wonder what is the need for this new policy. I hope the employees get to keep their tips and that the owners aren't keeping it for themselves. The women at the window are always so friendly and accommodating to me so it's unfortunate that this experience is souring me to this taco truck. The truck is usually busy when I go too so I don't have time to stand around and wait either. This issue along with the parking and the food quality going down is enough to make me not want to return here. I used to enjoy their food but I would rather go somewhere closer to work or somewhere with better parking. read more

Idk maybe 4 stars only because it is the only stationary food truck around making it convenient and easy when you're starving and don't feel like proper dining. On those occasions, like yesterday, it was perfect for me. Not too much to choose from for a vegetarian so I get the cheese quesadilla. Yesterday I also got the fish tacos as I was famished. No guacamole nor chips available. It's a popular spot for the local Latino community and there are two picnic tables to eat at. Given all the reviews and close proximity I can't believe how long it took to try Tacos El Azteca. Overall it was good, and the fact they work with delivery services is a huge bonus. The chicken burrito was probably the best. The tacos were just ok. Meat was dry and flavor was relatively bland. Extra sour cream was an up charge nor was soda complimentary (as others do) Perhaps I'm spoiled by Chef Tony's. I will absolutely give them another try, and hope today was just an off day. Frankly my post is probably unfairly more of a compliment to Chef Tony then a negative to Tacos El Azteca. read more

It's not a California burrito so don't expect rice here but the flavor is excellent. My husband raved about his cemita too. The best Mexican food I could find in Connecticut!!! Coming from Los Angeles, I have been trying to find a good replacement for the delicious Mexican food that I have been missing. And what better place to get that flavor than from an authentic taco truck! I drove her with a few friends on a Saturday evening to satisfy a taco craving and boy did it deliver. The truck was parked in a mechanic parking lot and there were a few patrons lined up to order. Looking at the menu, I immediately decided I wanted tacos, but I was not sure what kids I wanted. I ended up getting tacos de asada and tacos de lengua. They also had al pastor, pollo, chorizo and shrimp to name a few. Each taco was about $2, and well worth it. Also on the menu were burritos and quesadillas. My friend ordered a al pastor quesadilla and it was the biggest order I have ever seen. It filled the entire to go box. The food was fresh, delicious, and has me wanting for more. They do take card and are not cash only. There is plenty of parking and the staff in very friendly. Sooooo good and priced right too! I love cheap street tacos and I think I'll be coming back to these guys often. I was pretty sure that I would be happy with my food just by walking up. I was the only gringo that night, there was a line and it smelled amazing. Whiffs of cooking meat wafting through the air, lol. The chicken was my fav, but I still have a lot of others to try. The asada was closer to hamburger than steak and the shrimp were tiny and a little rubbery. All certainly still worth the 2-2.50, but the chicken was more my style between these 3. I'll be back. Awesome hidden treasure in Norwalk! One of my co-workers brought me here on a Friday and it was really a pleasant surprise. You really can't beat $2.50 per taco (even the shrimp and fish ones!). Any extra toppings like sour cream or guac are an extra 25 - 75 cents so even toppings it's a good deal. There are two picnic tables near the truck that you can sit at and it wasn't really busy so there was plenty of room. We got our food pretty quick. Make sure you try the hot sauces!
