Came here after a few friends recommended it as they used to go to school in the area and while there were some good dishes, nothing really blew us away. Don't get me wrong the burger is good but I'd be lying if I said there isn't another burger in this area I was mentally comparing it to and it felt short. This was my first time dining at The Chelsea, and it definitely won't be my last. The ambience alone made the experience warm, stylish, and inviting. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad to start, which was fresh, well-balanced, and surprisingly satisfying. For my main i ordered the Fried Meatballs and they were incredible--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. To top it all off, I tried the Chelsea Rose cocktail, and it was perfect- refreshing, beautifully crafted, and a great complement to the meal. Overall, the entire experience was a 10 out of 10. The server was friendly, polite, and completely professional. We went for lunch around 2pm and that's when construction of repairing the hardwood floors began. That what our server said it was. Loud banging and tools. So bizarre to do that at lunchtime. It clearly www not an emergency. Food is generally decent (we live in the neighborhood and have been frequently), but the swordfish BLT was drenched in mayo and the fish was very fishy. Bummer of a visit. read more

We went to The Chelsea on Thursday night for an impromptu dinner. We'll absolutely be back soon! Both my mom and I hadn't been to The Chelsea in 5 ish years but had been hearing great things recently so we had to get in there. We started with the Octopus appetizer. Almost everytime we see octopus on a menu, we have to give it a try. We LOVED the chorizo sweet potato has it was served over as well as the sauce combos. The octopus itself was a little too chewey and not as tender as we'd hoped, but overall the flavors were spot on. I ordered the 1/2 chicken scarpiello. If you're debating what to get, let this dish be it! It was INCREDIBLE. I wished I'd had some bread to lap up the amazing sauce LOL. The chicken was so crispy and juicy. I'll be craving it for sure. My mom got the swordfish picatta. It was super tasty. The flavors were great and the swordfish tasted as expected. The piece was a bit thin, but the flavors made up for it. Our service was great. Waitstaff was kind. The bar was packed and looked so fun. The ambiance was perfect. We had a great night at The Chelsea and can't wait to return! read more

We had lunch at The Chelsea yesterday . I have been to this restaurant many times over the years and sad to say today it has deteriorated. Service is good but food poor. An example, I had the Chicken pesto sandwich, the roll was old the chicken meat was very thin and basically NO taste again you start with an old roll. Our appetizer of calamari was not fresh , it was rubbery. It was good for many years so I am back to the Brick Walk restaurants or Blackstone. read more

This is a review that I forgot to write, from a visit in November. Not my first visit to The Chelsea, but this time I took friends. The tables were very nicely setup to observe all of the rules of social distancing. We had a lovely night out, and enjoyed the food The Chelsea is so famous for. I started off the meal with their delicious Mile High Manhattan (Tin Cup Colorado Whiskey & Alessio Rosso Vermouth, Amerena cherry & a dash of whiskey barrel aged bitters) We shared an appetizer of Calamari, that came with General Tso's glaze, arugula & Thai chili mayo. My main course was Scallops, pan seared over mushroom risotto, wilted spinach leaves & toasted slivered almonds. One of my friends had Chicken 'Scarpariello' (pan-roasted half a bird, spicy cherry peppers & smash-fried red bliss potatoes) and my other friend had a Tuna Burger, topped w/ avocado, tomato, bean sprouts & spicy mayo. The food at The Chelsea is always absolutely mouthwatering. The portions are a great size. They are continuing today to do in-door dining, as well as carry-out. read more

Love the bottomless brunch here - I mostly just get the drink deal and order food from the lunch/dinner menu, but the french toast and brunch burger are also fab. The bottomless deal is great because there are so many flavors for mimosas and 3 kinds of Bloody Marys, and you don't need to commit to any one! I like the pomegranate mimosa and the cucumber jalapeño bloody (the bacon bloody is also a fave). The tuna crudo is heavenly - I'm always trying to get those last bits of truffle off the plate when all the actual food is finished. read more

Unfortunately I did not have a great experience here. Came here with a group of 8 for good ole' brunch, not bottomless. Granted half of our party came 30 minutes late so I understand the waitress not checking up on us often in the beginning but the service was just not good at all even when our whole party came. We ordered appetizers and one drink each and the drinks took a pretty long time, but fine that didn't bother me. My friend inquired if she could get some bacon on the side and was wondering what the price would be, but the waitress just said no we can't do that and just walked away. Weird, because most places just charge for just some mere pieces of bacon. One of my friend's ordered the bacon-infused bloody mary which came with 2 pieces of bacon on it (arguably the best part) and some garnish. When my friend saw how good that looked, she ordered one later on. The waitress came back with the bacon-infused bloody mary without the garnish and my friend was confused if it was the bacon bloody mary because it was bacon-less. When she asked if it was the right one, the waitress just said "yeah unfortunately the chef forgot the garnish"... Didn't even apologize or offer to fix it. We were kind of taken aback by this type of service since the Chelsea seemed so established. Never have I seen so many people fed so quickly and so well. We came in out of the cold on a freezing Friday night with no reservations and a deadline due to a concert. They seated us immediately, In no time, we had drinks in our hands. I have no earthly idea how they managed to get a Chelsea Burger and Tuna Burger to us so fast, but they were both perfectly cooked and delicious. We actually ended up with spare time, so we had dessert ("Affogato: vanilla ice cream drowned in a shot of hot espresso and chocolate sauce:) and grappa. The service was extremely attentive, too. The only downside I saw was the tables being too packed-together. The noise level is about what you would expect in a restaurant with a busy bar. If you've got an upcoming show at Fairfield Theater Company or Sacred Heart's new Community Theater, this place is a very short walk to each. read more

Went to The Chelsea for dinner last night. Sat at the bar and ordered Caesar salad and my husband ordered chicken scarpariello. The food was just so so. His chicken only had one pepper. My salad which I always get there had no balsamic tomatoes. I asked the bartender and she said they no longer come with it. She was nice enough to get me a few. The lettuce was not fresh and the croutons were cut up bead that were not toasted. Soggy! Very sad to see this the food go downhill. Cute place close to the Fairfield train station. I took the Metro North to meet a friend in Fairfield for dinner here and it was a 2 minute walk. Parking was limited; they have a small lot behind the restaurant. We made a reservation for 6:45pm and were seated promptly. The menu had tons of apps ranging between $10-20 and entrees ranging between $15-$35. We ordered brussel sprouts, fried meatballs, and tacos for apps. We loved the brussels and the tacos; would pass on the meatballs next time. The price of these apps were expensive. For entrees, my friend got the gnocchi which was light and fluffy; not super dense. I ordered the kale salad with chicken. All of the ingredients were very fresh; the best part was the dressing. For dessert, we got the brownie sundae, which was average. The service was good until we felt like we were being forced out for a party that needed our table. I had not seen my friend in a while so we wanted to chat and I didn't realize there was a time limit. The front entrance of the restaurant is small and as the party arrived and waited to be seated, it got very crowded. We ended up leaving since we were both uncomfortable. Overall, the food was good but expensive! Cute indoor décor but small space. I'd recommend it if you are ready to spend some money and want to have a quick dinner (not catch up with friends). read more

We have been coming here every year for Christmas Eve for the last 9 years and we come a few times throughout the year. We ALWAYS get the octopus which is amazing and the chicken scarp. We went tonight and we're extra hungry so ordered the nachos which were not as good as the octopus for an app but a good size. Oddly layered so very messy. ATMOSPHERE: 4/5. Quaint. Cute. Not very roomy so tables for 2 are cramped. Love the rustic feel and low lighting. Bar is cozy. FOOD: 4/5. The food is consistently good. We never had a bad meal, but that doesn't also qualify it to be a 5 star restaurant. We ordered the nachos tonight. They are a good portion but oddly placed with all the chips on bottom and toppings sectioned off and overwhelming so when sharing it we were trying to spoon on all the toppings. Just odd. The chicken scarp is always delicious. Always. The octopus is our favorite app. COCKTAILS: 4/5 the dirty martini is so good BUT sometimes you'll get olives with fresh stuffed blue cheese which are BOMB or you may get the store bought/stuffed olives with blue cheese which are blah. Tonight we got the store bought ones. Bummer. They did have a good selection of IPAs which was a nice surprise. OVERALL: 4/5 and yes we will keep coming back. read more

Enjoyed a wonderful meal at this establishment. The lighting and decor was nice and I loved the fact we were able to have open air dining on a nice warm Spring evening. The service was excellent, they were quick and helpful. For starters we had the burrata which had mozzarella, butternut squash with dried cranberries and toast(absolutely delicious). My only complaint would be that they add a few more pieces of the toasted bread to be able to scoop up the butternut Shias puFor our entrees I had the pork chop served over butternut squash ravioli and my girlfriend had the octopus. Both meals were excellent. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and had plenty of flavor. Overall we had a pleasant dinner and would definitely come back again. read more

Second time at The Chelsea. Overall it's a cute place and the ambience is quaint. The first time I was there was during the summer. I liked the fact that they offered outdoor seating & it's a short distance from the train station. Last night I stopped in for a quick bite. The bartender was prompt, and made sure everything was to our liking. The kitchen was also prompt. In no time - the two appetizers arrived, hot & fresh. The cocktails were also delicious. I had their Tito's Moscow Mule $12. Will go back again. Perfect place for date night or a girlfriends pow wow. read more

It was nice to be able to walk right there from The Chelsea. I could also see this as a good date spot because it has a casual vibe but bougie menu. FOOD: We shared the tuna crudo which was slightly fishy but otherwise tasty. I always appreciate two crunch options - rice cracker and cucumber. The potato soup was soooo yummy. The Cobb salad was such an unexpected treat. It was way better than the Cobb salad you're probably thinking of. Each ingredient was elevated to its best. The chicken has crispy skin and juicy meat and the egg was poached- yum!! SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE: We were greeted straight away and sat quickly outside. Really great spot downtown by the train station... it's small and rustic looking, super comfortable environment and a casual but intimate ambiance. They infuse their own liquors and have some delish concoctions on the menu (my personal favorite was the cucumber jalapeño "filthy" martini - don't skip the blue cheese olives)! Decent beer and wine list but nothing to write home about on that front. We had the pigs in a blanket and the tuna as appetizers - both were quite yummy. The cheese and bacon sauce for the pigs was so so good. The tuna was served beautifully and had really sizable portions. The Chelsea burger was cooked perfectly and had great accoutrements, but was a bit on the salty side. The salmon dinner and the cod special were unique and 100% something I would order again. The mushroom ravioli was classic, nothing special, but delish! Will absolutely be returning! Want to try the brunch! read more

First of all the staff was outstanding! The menu was amazing. Charred Octopus was excellent and very flavorful. Pork chop and pineapple salsa so delicious. The corn pasta special was creamy and very good. We ate outside dodging the thunderstorms but the staff was very accommodating, finding us indoor seating. A very pleasant experience. I had the best chicken Caesar salad at this location that I've had in a really long time. They have these tiny little marinated tomatoes that were absolutely delightful. The presentation of the calamari was also exquisite. The ambience was wonderful overall a wonderful experience and a great place to catch up with friends or even have a romantic night out with that special someone there's this beautiful room that has all these wonderful little lights in them, I would highly recommend the Chelsea to anyone who is interested in trying a special restaurant! read more
