I'd come back over and over again for the roasted oysters. It was absolutely divine and well made. It has the right amount of fixings on the oysters where it didn't overwhelm. I also had one of the bowls which was mediocre at best. The Poke was a bit bland and there were too many random toppings. I don't think the coconut rice complemented it well. I was seated pretty quickly as the party of one. The bar was totally full. Service was OK as well. Not the best but not bad. I can't wait to come back with the oysters if I'm in town again.

Trio of incredible desserts, sticky toffee pudding, lemon raspberry cake and the house made cinnamon and sugar doughnuts in back.

What a find! We had an absolutely wonderful meal at The Gray Goose. I started with half dozen of the oysters done in the roasted Parmesan and butter style. Truly a magical dish I could have order two dozen and eaten them all. Philippe our waiter was excellent and was the one who pushed me towards the roast style on the oysters. The wife and I got two different types of tacos both delicious. My daughter had a burger which was also very good. The true winner of the meal however was the desserts and coffee. We ordered three desserts because we couldn't make up our minds. Sticky toffee pudding, lemon and raspberry cake, and the house made cinnamon and sugar doughnuts with Carmel gelato. All three were out of this world. No joke, if forced I couldn't pick which one I wanted again most. Along with a beautiful atmosphere and a rocking musical playlist made for a wonderful meal. Spend your money where they care about the food they serve, and this is that place.

I stopped by Gray Goose for the first time in years, as I'm rarely up this way, but I might need to make the effort to get up here more often. The atmosphere is so cozy, with fireplace and all. I'm not sure if they still light the fireplace, as it's currently too early in the season, but it gives me warm fuzzies anyway. Today, I opted for a half dozen raw bluepoint oysters with the accroutrements. They were amazing!! I had given up a bit on ordering raw bar oysters at restaurants because I had started to find them generally underwhelming. But these were showstoppers! Plump, tender, and mild with a smooth finish. Amazing!

We had a lovely experience. The service was wonderful. The food was great all around. The bar is vibrant and fun. This is a great classic Connecticut restaurant. A fabulous place to meet a friend and have a nice meal and a good cocktail.

I love The Gray Goose! My family and I went on my birthday once and for Mother's Day most recently. The food is always exceptional and tasty. The service was just okay this time as our waitress kept forgetting things, brought the food out at different times, and accidentally charged us 2 drinks the people next to us got. It was really busy, so it was likely just due to that. The service was much better the first time I went, but I'd go back for the great food! None of us had complaints about the food. I always get the steak frites and love it. The restaurant is clean and decorated nicely. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful little hole in the wall, we found it on a snowy Sunday, it is a small cozy place. Bar is small about a handful of chairs and has a fireplace along with atrium seating. We went for comfort food, burgers and flat breads. Service was friendly and attentive. Hope to be back if we are in the area to try other menu items. Salad and fries were great too!

Second time here and second thumbs up from me. Really love the space, both inside and out. The service was great and the food was really good. My mother-in-law raved about the lobster roll and said there were delicious, big chucks of lobster. Both apps were very good, and my wife really enjoyed her bang bang shrimp. The filet was cooked inconsistently; some spots were medium rare, and some were medium well. Didn't love that, but the flavor was good and the peppercorn sauce was excellent. I like this place a lot and really think it's going to work it's way into our regular rotation.

Delicious Valentines Day dinner at @graygoosesouthport The food was amazing. We had a variety of options; Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna Tacos Crispy Rhode Island Calamari Roasted Oysters Cold Seafood Platter Homemade Banana and Coconut Cake Absolutely loved everything. The service was amazing. The waiter was the best.... Friendly, accommodating, attentive, made suggestions and was great throughout the night. Both food and drinks came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere and vibe was perfect... grabbed a table for 2 near the fireplace and enjoyed an absolutely fantastic evening. Highly recommend stopping by for a bite. Buon Appetito!

We came for brunch on a Saturday. Food was excellent. I had the avocado toast with smoked salmon and perfectly cook over-easy eggs, others had the frittata, and the French toast. We all had Bloody Marys too. They tasty and just the right amount of spicy. The kiddies had pasta (off menu, thank you for accommodating, Artisan) and the delicious pancakes with the works: cream, chocolate, and chocolate. Wow. They enjoyed their food, and the adults enjoyed theirs too. The service was excellent--no empty water glasses or coffee cups. And the lead server had a great way about him. He even concocted a special orange soda-like drink for my son (whom we were celebrating). He loved it. They made the event extra special by giving him a little treat (an amazing s'more-like desert) for home. He devoured it and even said that he wanted to come back for his birthday--just to get that desert! The ambiance is same as it ever was: understated elegance. It was a pleasure to dine here.

We had visited the bar here in Southport back in June and it's beautiful. Beautiful outdoor area to sit as well. Menu looked so awesome here when we visited back in June that I couldn't wait to come back for dinner. There were three events going on this past Saturday. As mentioned, ambiance is stunning at this hotel. Driving up - gorgeous property. Charming. Unfortunately the food doesn't quite match up to the ambiance. Moving on, wish we knew November offered "No corkage fee November" to start. Nice offering for the month. Food - Waitress brought me gluten free bread which was very nice. I got the Cioppino for my entree. Not much going on with the dish. Had a few mussels, maybe 4 SMALL pieces of chorizo chopped up, maybe 4 SMALL pieces of shrimp chopped up, a few slices of potato, and a piece of Monkfish on top. It's almost like they ran out of seafood!! They didn't skimp on onion though. The dish was swimming in flakes and flakes of onion. I can't really have onion so I was piling the onions on the side of my plate. They were excessive. There wasn't much there for $40. My boyfriend got the salmon per usual with the cauliflower risotto. He enjoyed. Not much to report there. I have heard good things about L'escale (restaurant at Delamar in Greenwich) so still went to check that out. Maybe it's just an Artisan thing I don't care for. We shall see. Parking is tricky here. Both times we got lucky and found a spot somewhat near the front, otherwise not sure where else you park.

But because it was so cold today, we picked one close to the train station for our lunch for three, and it turned out to be a great choice after our meal at Ryebird. Their website describes Ryebird as "A Neighborhood joint where friends and family meet" and that seems pretty much spot-on. The bar is gorgeous, the dining room is beautifully decorated with red painted walls, dark distressed wood tables, and stainless-steel colored chairs. The service was great, I mean outstanding. Our server Leo was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We had a few conversations with Manager Thomas who was very charming and a real joy to talk with. And I haven't even gotten to the food yet! OK, here we go! Our party of three went with a small Chicken Soup for The Soul with Cheesy Bread ($14) for me. What's Cheesy Bread? Well, how about three toasted pieces of gooey pizza bread topped with a feta spread and olive oil. My brother-in-law went with their Daily Pot Pie ($23 for Chicken today), with a house-made buttery crust, scratch-made filling, and an added $4 up-charge for a gravy boat full of mushroom bourbon gravy. My wife went with a Roaster sandwich ($18) of pulled chicken, cheddar, BBQ sauce, pickled onion, on a baguette served with fries. We also had an order of Lemon Chili Zucchini ($9) for the table. The food was wonderful, as both the pot pie and the sandwich were devoured. My soup was a pretty big bowl for a "Small" but was loaded with more carrots and celery than chicken. I asked our server Leo if they had any hot sauce, and he asked me how hot did I want it? Ryebird has a few different types in increasing levels of hotness. I asked for the max, and he brought out a little ramekin of some of the hottest hot sauce I ever had. It was pretty much at my upper level of tolerance. I chatted about it with the restaurant manager on the way out, and he was pretty sure it was made with Ghost Peppers, so that explained my thermonuclear mouth numbing reaction. Anyway, we loved our visit to Ryebird. Their food is reasonably priced, portions are generous, the quality is high, and the service is exceptional. What more do you want in a Fairfield County lunch?

I wanted to expand my palate that evening and surprisingly I actually really liked it. The amount of blue cheese was perfect for me (despite the reviews) as it would have made it too salty and greasy. Next was my entree: Modified Kettle Cooked Zoodles. As a vegetarian, I never have the highest expectations but I was blown away! Chris our server was so sweet to have this customized for me. Hubby's Branzino: fish was well cooked, elegant flavors from the Puttanesca sauce with spinach and mashed potatoes were excellent! Their menu is very broad and covers appetizers, tacos, sandwiches, salads, burgers, and bowls. Our lunch was a Southwest Salad ($18.95) with Mojito-lime marinated grilled chicken, crispy romaine, Roasted corn, black beans, pico de gallo, queso fresco, avocado & crispy tortillas with ancho chipotle dressing, Chatham Fish N' Chips ($20.95) with Crispy ale battered cod with fries, tartar sauce, house slaw and lemon wedges, and a Grilled Chicken Caprese Sandwich ($17.95) with Lemon-Pepper grilled chicken breast, roasted red peppers, baby arugula, fresh mozzarella, and pesto aioli served on a toasted Rosemary focaccia. It was a big portion, certainly enough for two sittings, and I have to say that ancho chipotle dressing was sneaky spicy! I really liked this place. In fact, you should just walk out to the light house during low tide and wait a few hours until you can't see the shore... However, I can say that about 95% of us were blacked out before close. I was there a few times during the summer and I have to say, I'm very disappointed about the light crowd. Even though the students are gone, I figured locals and shoobies would pour in more frequently. Regardless, the grape is the epitome of the Fairfield U social scene. My night at the grape (after a hefty pregame at lantern point) would usually start with a few vodka 180's and a half a dozen house shots (which are only $1). Chris, the DJ, pretty much sticks to hip-hop all night. And even though Fairfield might be the least diverse campus on the East Coast, we know how to drink and embarrass ourselves through the art of dance, preferably right next to the dartboards. We also know how to waste money in games like Buck Hunter, Lobster Claw, and Bowling. On Tuesdays, most drinks are $2, and all the time $2 bud light bottles are hard to beat. I've never heard of another bar that supports a shitshow of a water/booze fight the night after graduation and gives out commorative t-shirts to their loyal Fairfield U senior customers.
