Tried this deli for the first time. PARKING - while on a busy Main Street they have some parking spots available so you should be in good shape OUTSIDE - they have these tinted windows so from the outside you can't see the inside. One reason it took me so long to try AFFILIATION - I learned that this place is a second location for massiminos in Bridgeport which is a pretty Italian place in its own right ENTRANCE - as you come in you can see the main counter in the back. There are a few tables around if you want to sit and eat/drink coffee. AMBIANCE - it's a very clean and deli looking decor. DRY PRODUCTS - they have a small selection of Italian items from dried pasta to jarred sauces. Typical brands that you see in supermarkets or other Italian stores. There are a few imported from Italy brands but I'm no expert to say yea or nay PIZZA - they have at the counter a pizza station where you can a buy by the slice. They looked pretty good with a lot of variety. COFFEES - they have regular plus they make expresso, macchiatos, lattes etc. I tried the macchiato which was excellent PASTRY- they gave a few at the counter. The breakfast buns and treats. I noticed a crème pastry which I tried. It was OK but in reality the pastry part was super good but the inside crème would have been better if it was like a Boston cream filling SERVICE - definitely 5+ stars. The employees couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Very congenial with small talk. Not the usual cold QSR attitude you get from the fast food chains PRICES - I only got coffee and a pastry that was over $8. Dough was thin and crispy, great red sauce, toppings not overwhelming. SERVICE: friendly over the phone, pizza was ready when they said it would be. Stopped here on a trip to Trumbull for lunch. Ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza, past fagioli, and a slice of Sicilian. Ordered my daughter a gluten free wrap to go as well. Very nice place with a few tables inside. The food was solid. The soup was very good. The service was pleasant and food came out pretty quick. Went a few weeks ago and had a really disappointing experience. We had never been there before and didn't realize there was a back parking lot, so we parked out front quickly to run in for a pickup. Our food wasn't ready yet, and one of the staff members came over and began yelling at us, saying, "Do you think that's a parking spot?"--repeating it multiple times in a very aggressive tone. He kept insisting he wasn't trying to be rude, but he absolutely was. A better way to handle it would have been to politely ask us to move because we were blocking the front, especially since we were first-time customers. I moved the car immediately, and then our food was ready not even a minute later. To top it off, the sandwiches weren't very good. We won't be returning. read more

HECK YEAH! Good pizza in Trumbull. FINALLY! First impression was very positive. Walking up to the building you can already smell the strong aroma of pizza. Walk in and the first thing I hear is the man at the front calling out orders to the cooks in Italian. Always a good sign! The place was super busy with takeout orders. Also a positive sign. We got takeout but I would definitely dine here. The inside is really nice. New looking with classy decor. There are also tons of imported goodies for sale. It was all very tempting yet I somehow managed to walk out with just a chocolate bar (in addition to my pie, obviously). Speaking of the pie... it was just what the doctor ordered! What can I say? The crust, the sauce, the toppings - it was all excellent. Interestingly the sauce was on top of the cheese. Very surprising! That aspect suggested Detroit, yet everything else about the pizza screamed Connecticut... No complaints here! In the end all the ingredients go to the same place and my taste buds love them all the same! OK I actually have just one complaint. The pie needed more sauce. It's really good sauce so I wanted a lot of it. I also just love tomatoes... I'll take it under the ingredients in addition to on top . Next time I'll definitely order extra sauce. This is one of the rare eateries that can pull off being a good deli and an even better pizzeria at the same time. Their hot grinders are outstanding; if I could've eaten the styrofoam continuously my chicken cutlet came in , I would've. Staff are some of the nicest & friendly, interactive around. Toppings come freshly drizzled on their sandwiches. Fully staffed and never a long wait. Ever. I love this place. Don't even think about eating that slop at your local Subway. I always order from the Corner Deli for lunch when I'm in town. There is a great variety of sandwiches and even make your own sandwich. The grinders are large and can be shared with another person. There are a few delis closer and more convenient. I come here anyway. Why? 1. The food is delicious. I usually order an Italian combo on a grinder. Perfect, and reasonably priced. So big that I usually save half for lunch the next day. 2. My kids like it. Good pizza. Good tuna sandwich. 3. I did not have the pizza which I probably should have had since that seems to be the most popular thing. I had an eggplant parmigiana wedge and was not especially pleased with the flavor - thought the content/bread mix was off, the sauce to sweet, and the eggplant just OK and a not generously appointed, and the toasted bread a bit hard and in flavorful. Customer service is terrible, food is good. We ordered through Slice ($35 worth of food mind you). The food was supposed to arrive at 10:14, and did not come until 10:45. One of the sandwiches was made incorrectly, which I reported through the app and was told "the store says they made it correctly, so we can't refund you." I'm sorry... I literally have a receipt with what I ordered and the incorrect sandwich in my bag and you're trying to tell me the store "got it right?" Also the store "offered" to solve the problem by making the correct sandwich that I could pay for again AND come pick up on my own. How sweet of them to offer lol. We ordered 2 large pizzas ($16 each) and some desserts from Corner Deli one night. When the delivery driver arrived, he only gave us one pizza and the desserts. We ran outside frantic to tell him and he stopped and insisted there was only one. Before we could grab the receipt to show him he was back in the car driving away, showing no concern that there might be a mistake. We then called the restaurant and they confirmed the order was for two pizzas but they were "too busy" to deliver it to us despite it being their mistake and despite paying their delivery fee. I am sure if we ordered another pizza instead of asking them to deliver the one we already paid for they would have had no problem delivering it. They offered us a credit for the one pizza that was missing or we could come get it ourselves. We had already paid their $6.90 delivery fee and tipped the driver 20% of the whole order that totaled nearly $65. We picked the credit option, where they then said we would only maybe get the credit because their software might not have it go through. Before finding Corner Deli we had ordered from several other restaurants in the area, all of whom rectified their delivery mistakes when they were made no matter how busy they were. Meaning they ensured the whole order got delivered and if there was a mistake they would send another driver with the forgotten item, even if they were busy. The lack of customer consideration from the delivery driver, phone operator, and company as a whole is disgusting and we will not be ordering from them again in the future. If you want a good pizza for a more affordable rate AND excellent customer service, order from Legends in Shelton. Forget Corner Deli, because when this happens to you they will treat you exactly the same as they have treated us. read more

I was in Trumbull for work and was hankering for a quality, homemade eggplant grinder from a local establishment.I immediately checked Yelp and this place popped up with some great reviews so I decided to give it a go. The name on the store front and back both say, "corner deli" so I initially passed by it and again checked my GPS and bearings. It is a white house, adjacent to a church with ample parking in the back. I was greeted by staff who were so sincerely friendly and attentive. Brian told me all about the place and catering services--so great to know and share! He gave me suggestions for other sandwiches to come back for. I appreciated the simple decor of pastas and other Italian products available for sale. Service was so friendly and fast. I enjoyed the eggplant grinder. Generous portion. The bread was firm and crunchy and able to hold the eggplant and sauce with ease. The second half will be consumed later. Also ordered was the meatball parm stromboli which will soon be gobbled up--I am sure with regrets of not ordering more! I cannot believe this place has been around a long time and I haven't been there yet. That all changed this week however. So upon walking in when I noticed immediately as how brightly lit and cheerful this place looked. It is definitely not your average deli that's for sure. First of all it is very bright inside and gives off a really cheery a big feeling. Secondly there is the menu. I mean they will literally have so much to offer here. They have sandwiches and pizza and coffee and breakfast items and snacks and the list goes on and on.. So I was getting to go for myself and another person and we won't really that hungry we got a couple of slices of pizza and a blueberry muffin as a snack. The blueberry muffin was utterly delicious and huge. The pizza was good. I would not say it's the best pizza I've ever had but I would say it's above average. But what I really wanna talk about is the crust because I don't eat the crust on my pizza all the time and with this pizza there was something so yummy about the crust it just had this doughy delicious flavor. And I annihilated the crust. LOL. I plan to return back here. I mean I've been hearing about this place and everyone I know is had a great experience here so I figured it was time to try them out. I will also mention the service was great and the phone was ringing off the wall. I love this place. More than the food, I love the customer service. The prices are great and the vibe is warm. Open 7am to 9pm, they serve breakfast lunch and dinner. They even do special orders. I like my Breakfast sandwiches nicely toasted and gooey with cheese, and they did not disappoint. Best iced coffee I have ever had. I don't know what the secret is, but a full meal was almost cheaper than just a coffee at Starbucks. Conversation is friendly, not rushed. I feel they genuinely appreciate the customers they serve.
