On our way home from New Jersey we found this little beauty. I don't normally give five stars to places we've only been to once without a good reason. We were able to order a good amount of items to get a fair assessment and I hope there is a day we can get back here because it was fantastic. We tried the calamari, fried zucchini fritters, two types of individual pizzas, the Bolognese, the ravioli, the chocolate cannoli , and the afogato. Everything was delicious and most of the pastas are even made by hand. The service was spectacular despite being a very busy restaurant. They kept up with the pace, provided an excellent meal, and excellent service. Everything looked clean, comforting, and absolutely love the set up where you can even watch them make crêpes for dessert . I cannot wait to come back, it is an hour from us, but we might make the trip just because that's how good it was. I saw many other dishes go by that smelled fantastic and watched some beautiful sangrias go to surrounding tables. One of our favorite restaurants around. We typically go to the Norwalk location. Recently we've been going to the Trumbull location and it's just as delicious. Slightly different menu here in Trumbull than in Norwalk. Started with the Burrata, Prosciutto and Arugula salad. Great starter option. Burrata is super fresh and pairs perfectly with the slightly salty Prosciutto. Also grabbed a personal cheese pizza... delicious. It's not a very large restaurant, typically on a weekend night we have to wait for a table. However, it's a lively and fun atmosphere. The service and bar staff is always friendly and provide great service. Servers are very knowledgeable about the food options and always provide feedback. Penne with meatballs didn't have penne but thick spaghetti. Meatballs had no flavor but a decent consistency, unfortunately the same marinara sauce is used for everything and it is tasteless. Calamari... same marinara sauce with no flavor (how do you make marinara with no flavor!). Crepe with strawberries and whipped cream, not whipped but a puddle of cream and while the crepes with thoughally covered with sugar and cinnamon and very few strawberries, still no flavor! TLDR: Check to make sure your bill is actually yours and not another table's. Went to dinner at the Trumbull location last night (a Saturday.) We were seated quickly and ordered sangria, a salad, and entrees. While I appreciate the kitchen's efficiency and the need to turn over tables, it did feel rushed- my mother barely put down her fork before they cleared away her entree. Food is pretty decent, pizzas look great. HOWEVER, when the bill came, our server openly acknowledged that it was another table's bill. Believing that maybe he had printed out the wrong bill and only realized it when he got to our table, we took the bill and he walked back to the register. When he came back, he asked if we were ready to pay- but he didn't make a move to bring the correct bill. We reminded him that he had given us an incorrect bill and he said "yes, but it was close enough." We insisted on getting the bill for OUR table and when he finally returned with our bill, it was 10-15% less than the original, incorrect bill. Just bizarre customer service. read more

I have to say I ordered once from this place and the food was so great that I didn't have a chance to snap a picture. I found it to be quality Italian food. I ordered pappardelle Bolognese and that sauce was everything!!!! The depth of flavors was definitely there. The portion was generous and can feed a hungry preggo at the time. Very solid place! I'd definitely visit again when in the area. A friend and I came for early dinner one Sunday afternoon. There was a smattering of other small groups and lots of people coming to pick up pizza. (This was Superbowl Sunday.) The menu was very large with lots of interesting options (especially the pizza options). It was so hard to choose! We started with the Insalata Della Casa: simple but large and satisfying. We also got the fried ravioli, which I found a little bland, but the tomato sauce was a great compliment. We devoured our pizzas, even though the personal size is quite big. The Piccante had an awesome spice, though the spicy oil made the pie a little too wet. (It's easy to dab with a napkin, though.) I really liked my Fontana de Trevi, which had a very generous amount arugula and prosciutto. The truffle oil was a little muted, though. Only thing that is not perfect about this place is how small it is.. it does make it feel more cozy but sometimes it can make it feel a bit packed and a bit difficult to get a table on crowded nights. UPDATE: What a unique and cool place! Romanacci is so much fun with their upscale lounge, extensive wine list and mouth watering Crepes. I feel like this place is actually in Italy, not small town Connecticut! So I am updating my review and now I have been here several times. Five stars are for the cream of the crop and Romanacci is most definitely that. Every single time I have been here has been amazing. They are upscale and cozy both at the same time. Their wine list is extensive although I chose not to partake tonight. They are a pizza and wine bar but if you are not in the mood for pizza, as I wasn't tonight, rest assured there are many other things you can find to eat on the menu. AND they have Crepes! They have plenty of Italian dishes. In regards to their pizza, they have any kind you could possibly want. So many look interesting that I want to try. One of those is their "breakfast pizza" which means you get your choice of bacon or sausage or egg toppings. I am not a huge egg eater but must admit I am curious as I have never had Egg pizza before. They have the largest list of white cheese pies I've ever seen. They are very creative in their choices. Then there are their CREPES. Oh. Wow. These. are. yummy. See pics below. I am afraid I got carried away in regards to photos. If it is Crepes you want..Crepes you will get here! And they are just decadent. Seriously decadent. If there is one thing I'd change is less High Top seating and more regular seating. Since I tore my ACL, I cannot do High Top for awhile. The whole atmosphere lends itself to giving the customer an experience that is warm and extremely enjoyable. The inside is lovely and has a lounge feel. wish I could this zero stars. worst service ever. I am a loyal customer and I received this worst service at this establishment tonight. I ordered for pickup and was told 7:20 I got there at 7:17. I proceeded to get in line and then no taken care of for 15 minutes. I then had to wait an additional forty minutes for my food the staff were not helpful and were rude. so upset then there was flies in the dessert case landing on the cookies and various pastrie. yuck! how disgusting! all young kids these days do not know how to help their loyal clients. how dissapointing. read more
