When you walk into a place and you are the only customer, yet no one speaks... No greeting, No Hi, No Hello, nothing but a stare from the one of three workers behind the counter is one if the most uncomfortable, unwelcoming feelings I've ever experienced. The low lighting and quietness didn't help the situation, But I didn't let that stop me from browsing the menu and ordering. I was hungry. Decided on the Mediterranean 'wich. It was tasty and delicious. The ingredients were fresh! Seemed a little pricey at $7 but after eating the sandwich, it was worth the $. I could see the guy making the sandwich and he was proud of his work and made it with passion. He was warm and said Thank-You which made me feel better upon leaving the establishment. As I sat in my car and ate that amazing sandwich, I looked up other menu items pondering what I would get next time but then I realized there wouldn't be a next time as that awful feeling of "what are YOU doing here?" that i experienced when walking in returned. The bagels are harder than diamonds and yes it may have been later in the day but they shouldn't be serving those. Stopped in on a whim. I was a little confused by the menu and the process. The cashier that took the order was a friendly young guy. Sandwich was made in an acceptable amount of time. I had grilled chicken and added broccoli rabe on a wedge (sub). It was tasty, although the broccoli table could use some seasoning). The sandwich was about $10. I've been wanting to stop in and finally did for lunch. As you walk in the restaurant is very inviting. This is the type of place where you order and wait until your meal is prepared and then you can sit at either side of their dining room. Plenty of tables and se tops throughout with stools to sit at. Everything is done fresh while you wait. They have a nice display of Boars Head cold cuts along with a salad bar section. Everything at this place is so clean and well displayed. As far as the sandwich I ordered it was very good. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was very flavorful. The only negative I would give is that the Cuban sandwich was not pressed. I ordered the combo and was given a fountain drink and chips, all for about $9.50. Not a bad deal at all. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. By the way for all you salad lovers out there, I saw a couple of customers order them and they looked like a very large serving and very fresh. read more

I had been wanting to go here for a while, and had the opportunity today. Stopped by for a lunch to go roast beef and Swiss with mayo on a hard roll. Service was friendly and fast. I like that they did not use any plastic to wrap the sandwich and put it in a paper bag. Kudo's. Otherwise, under impressed. A relatively normal, sandwich shop--nothing unique or extraordinary--nothing particularly special or memorable. I know many go nuts over the use of Boar's Head deli meats and cheeses, but I have experienced many more tasty cold cuts and cheeses with in house made items at local places. I am a big fan of Wich Day. Usually when I go, I am able to order and get my stuff pretty quickly. There is a lot of parking too so it is really easy to make the trip fast. However, like any typical bagel stop, there may be a wait in the morning when everyone is trying to grab something before work. I usually order a sausage, egg, and cheese on a sesame bagel and it is yummy! Always hits the spot, and I am literally salivating just thinking about it. The downside to Wich Day is that it is a little pricey when you want to add things on to something. I ordered eggs with toast and hashbrowns, and I was thinking of adding cheese to it but it was around $2 to add cheese. I didn't think cheese would be $2 when the rest of the meal is like $6. Just doesn't seem totally reasonable to me. Overall, I am a huge advocate for wich day. Great place to get some quick breakfast on-the-go. However, just be aware that additions are not cheap. read more

I have eaten at this deli at least 20 times and it has been fast, fair;y priced and made with 100% care each time. Most importantly, the food is delicious and fresh. The woman at the register didn't understand simple and plain English, nor did she know what "chili" was. Also, it took 5 minutes to understand a 2 person order of 3 food items. This will probably be my new stop when taking my nephew to swim lessons. The wait staff is super friendly and helpful. Everything looks extremely fresh, down to the lettuce. It is well stocked with healthy options like fruit salad coconut water. The place is light and airy and very clean. For breakfast I stopped for a bacon, egg and cheese since my usual place was closed this morning and I'm so glad I did. My iced coffee was made perfectly (which says a lot bc I'm picky about my coffee) and I didn't spend an arm and a leg for a freshly made sandwich. My only regret is not realizing this place was here when I was enrolled down the street at Fairfield University. I It was a rainy day, at lunch time, so I decided to stop in for a quick lunch break. I was hoping to find (considering the location), some fresh garden options along with a variety of other choices...and that's exactly what I found!!! The place was clean, the staff was friendly and bilingual, which was nice, and prices were ok, again considering the location. I got a chicken Caesar Salad, it was very good and filling. The chicken was warm and juicy, you could tell it was made with the customer's satisfaction in mind!! Last Saturday we bought two Italian Combo sandwiches here and took them with us to Fairfield Beach. Within an hour of eating half of one, I had terrible cramps, followed by no less than five gallops to the men's room. It was pretty awful. My wife and buddy were effected too. Here's my point: I called Wich Day a few days later and told the sandwich maker who answered what happened and his response was, "IMPOSSIBLE! Everything we sell is from Boar's Head. About 6 of us went in for lunch and it took about 35 minutes to make a few simple sandwiches and we were basically the only ones in there! If they don't get their act together, improve their systems, and train their workers they won't do well. With that said, the sandwich was ok.
