Do NOT go here for a breakfast sandwich if you want anything besides a plain egg and cheese on a store bought tiny bagel. I ordered an egg and cheese with spinach tomato and avocado on a multigrain bagel. This doubled the price of their regular egg and geese. The tomato was extremely thinly sliced and only took up half the sandwhich- and the sandwhich was SMALL. There was hardly any spinach. The avocado was mushed and completely overtook the sandwhich. When they cut the sandwhich they only cut the top half of the bagel and nothing else. The avocado went everywhere and they did not even attempt to clean it up. Impossible to eat as everything slid everywhere. Worst place for breakfast ever I will never be back. Pros: This place is fantastic. I've been a regular at 'Wichday for about 3 years now and they have never disappointed. The service is top-notch. I always get a warm greeting upon entering this fine establishment. The food is prepared quickly and is always ready in 10 minutes or less if you call-in in advance. On top of this, the food is delicious. I recommend the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich (double bacon, double egg unless you are soft). If you are feeling adventurous, you can even toss a hashbrown in it! I am also pleasured by both the steak and egg sandwich and the steak and cheese sandwich. I have not tried other sandwiches but I have only heard good things about them. The coffee and other caffeinated beverages are immaculate. As an avid coffee drinker, it should not be taken lightly when I say that 'Wichday's plain hot coffee (black, of course) is some of the best coffee I have ever had. Additionally, 'Wichday has a huge offering of cold beverages. One time, I got a bottle of Coke that had my name on its wrapper and it was one of the most heart-warming experiences of my life. It was simply a special moment for me. Anyway, the restaurant feels very clean on the inside, which is comforting, especially considering deli-type restaurants tend to smell or feel dirty. I love the high tables they provide near the windows. Overall, the atmosphere is unbeatable. Cons: I want to preface this section by saying that there are no cons for me because I know what to expect from 'Wichday better than I know the back of my hand. However, I will mention some very minor potential cons that others may perceive in 'Wichday. One thing to note is that the egg sandwiches seem especially hot when they are served. This is perfectly fine by me but others with inferior mouths that are more sensitive to heat may want to wait a few moments until the sandwiches cool down before going to pound town. Also, be mindful of your leg placement when you sit down at the high tables beside the windows because I have whacked my knee against the metal support beams under the tables a couple times. This is an extremely painful experience that I would not wish on my worst enemies but as long as you don't move the chairs out of place, you are safe from this horrible danger. read more

Competition is stiff when deciding who makes the best breakfast sandwich in Fairfield. There are a lot of delis to choose from but the winner in my opinion is 'wichday. The eggs are prepared in a traditional French-style manner. Soft, light and creamy. They are not rubbery, browned or overcooked. The perfect preparation of eggs no matter how you like'em! I stumbled into 'wichday by accident. Seriously, somebody rear ended me right in front of 'wichday. After the incident I went in for breakfast and if it wasn't for Soledad who calmed me down by her huge smile, friendly disposition and overall great customer service I would've remained upset the whole day. I had bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll. It was perfect. The place is immaculate. The selections are endless and the location is convenient. I had been wanting to try this place since it had opened- the name was cool and it looked like they had done a nice job with the place. However I was sadly disappointed. Sandwiches are $6-8 depending on what you get, which isn't bad for the area, but with two drinks, we left spending $21 for a sandwich on a roll and a wrap, which I thought was pricey, given what we ordered. I had the chicken salad with cranberries- not terrible, but the bread seemed old. We also had a Reuben and both of us thought the meat was microwaved. The sandwiches were ready in about 3 minutes, which kind of hinted that the meat never touched a grill, even though they have several. Both of us felt sick a little while later, so the food clearly didn't sit well. The steak sandwich is fantastic and I have confidence that every other option on the menu is also delicious. The chip selection is the best in the northeast. The drink selection is the best I've ever come across. The service is flawless. I am always greeted with a warm welcome when I walk into Wich Day. The workers are so kind and full of energy. The parking is great. I've never not found a spot to park. The location is perfect. It is located right next to the best ice cream parlor in the northeast. Finally, those who complain about the prices are ignorant fools. I would like to remind you unappreciative morons that the town is Fairfield, CT and the year is 2015. The prices are very reasonable.
