Best local breakfast, hands down. I went with the classic eggs, sausage, home fries (and a side of bacon of course). It's not easy to differentiate this kind of meal at a breakfast cafe, but this place does it. They do not go cheap on the ingredients. This is not your paper-thin bacon and bland sausage links. They serve exactly what i would make for myself at home. For more adventurous breakfast or brunch, they've got lots of creative and equally delicious sandwiches, baked goods, and sweets. When planning a drive from New Jersey to New Hampshire, I mapped out an area which would be convenient to stop for breakfast. I settled on Newtown, CT and checked Yelp for breakfast reviews. Thanks to reviewers, I found Eggs & Co. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall. Half of it is like a traditional deli, the other half has tables. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. Our breakfast was excellent! My wife and I ordered French toast with fruit and my in-laws had pancakes. Everything was delicious. One thing we didn't order but looked amazing, were the desserts. The cherry cheesecake and the carrot cake warrant making this trip again! Everyone here was very friendly. Great little hole in the wall located in a small shopping plaza in Newtown. Very Covid friendly and owned by a father and son duo that is very outgoing and fun. My husband had the avocado omelette and I had the chorizo omelette with jalapeños. Both came with hash browns and toast. The omelette and coffee were huge and tasted great. Starting with the positives: The food was absolutely delicious! The el burrito, French toast sticks, the bomb breakfast sandwich, avocado toast- all superb! Fresh, quality ingredients and flavorful! The drinks delicious as well- mango smoothie, frozen hot chocolate, strawberry banana smoothie, mochachino and the macchiato- all were yummy and would recommend! The teen boy working there was friendly and attentive but looked nervous and I soon came to realize why! The owner's father should NOT be working at the restaurant! He is an actual liability. The way he treated the teen employee was appalling. The boy endured verbal abuse from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. I had my three children with me and they saw me boiling with anger. I wanted so badly to say something but bit my tongue. Finally, I had to call the young employee over to speak with him to make sure he was okay. I wish I had a job to offer him because I wanted to walk him out of there with us! The old man did give my son a free donut because of a minor mess up (forgetting one meal-which was NO big deal and we did not complain.) I simply asked the teen if he could check on the meal and he did. I felt awful after because he then got reprimanded by the old man to "never go in the back and to not disturb the cooks." I overheard the old man telling a customer that she should have ordered online -several times. She replied. "Yup, I got it." I heard him tell another customer that this COVID stuff is so hard. He has to limit customers due to "your governor." The owner was in the back cooking but came up front for a few minutes. I was observing everything at this point and he seems relatively friendly. That being said I'd suggest the owner refrain from making "light" conversation about how racism came into play "when Obama took over", asking how "we can't call kids STUPID anymore, so what do you say". Also why can't we say kids are "monkeys" when playing while referring to something he heard about in a school system saying it was a young "black kid" ...his word not mine. all these comments were brought up to us as he new we were school teachers. I wanted to make sure I posted a review in light of the negative reviews I read on Yelp. I have been here a few times. Each time, the staff have been friendly, accommodating and extremely eager to please. Today, for example, I accidentally ordered pancakes for my wife, who wanted French Toast with her platter. Upon delivering the plate to our table, and learning of my blunder, we were offered an order of French Toast, and got to keep the pancakes, too. All of the food has been excellent, and I have not sensed any of the "rudeness" alluded to in some other reviews. You cannot please everyone all the time, but this place certainly tries. read more

It truly pains me to not be able to give this place a better review because the food was very good but the I could not get passed the way the owner was acting while we were there. Very openly talking about the struggles of the business to many of the customers that just didn't feel appropriate. After reading more reviews it seems like this is a trend which is unfortunate to see. THE best breakfast burrito I've ever had. I was visiting my home town in CT and stopped in on my way up from Trumbull to Sherman CT. I'm so glad I did. It's rare to find a really good breakfast place in my opinion pretty much anywhere. WE currently live in Florida. It's the same here with the breakfast places. (Im pretty picky) Not only was the food great and made fresh, the owner was so much fun. He's also an experienced chef. I really appreciated him and the ambiance as well. Party of 5, quiet late morning/early afternoon. Realized that we had to order ourselves after seating ourselves at 2 tables that we had to pull together in an inconvenient fashion. We ordered and looked forward to receiving our food as it all sounded good and was talked up quite a bit by the chef/server (gentleman performed both roles). No one in our party was wowed by what we received~ basic breakfast fare, no panache or originality, and fries/onion rings very obviously from frozen. Syrup was not genuine maple syrup which would have made a difference. Pancakes were from a mix (bisquick or some such) and were very bland (maybe could use cinnamon or vanilla for a lift)...just "meh". Our tab was well over $100 and that was before a generous tip.
