WOW! I know things are getting more expensive, but $6.50 for a bacon egg and cheese sandwich is ridiculous, especially when you are charged $3.00 for bacon alone, and the sandwich was just mediocre at best, really!!! Plus $3.00 for a SMALL coffee? Just up the road a block away they have a much better B,E & CH's for $4.25. Will not be heading back to E&C anytime soon. read more

Eggs & Co - Fries, iced chai, a sandwich that was so good I ate half before I could get the pic! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Newtown, Connecticut

Best local breakfast, hands down. I went with the classic eggs, sausage, home fries (and a side of bacon of course). It's not easy to differentiate this kind of meal at a breakfast cafe, but this place does it. They do not go cheap on the ingredients. This is not your paper-thin bacon and bland sausage links. They serve exactly what i would make for myself at home. For more adventurous breakfast or brunch, they've got lots of creative and equally delicious sandwiches, baked goods, and sweets. Not pictured is the breakfast Reuben sandwich. Amazing.... Comfortable seating, plenty of space and quick, delicious food. The staff here are always happy to chat with customers and are very appreciative of our compliments. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for delicious breakfast or brunch. read more

Did the poor treatment of customers finally catch up? Eggs & Co has closed. Hopefully, a lesson was learned here. Kind of sad because the food was decent, but not decent enough to be greatly rudely. read more

When planning a drive from New Jersey to New Hampshire, I mapped out an area which would be convenient to stop for breakfast. I settled on Newtown, CT and checked Yelp for breakfast reviews. Thanks to reviewers, I found Eggs & Co. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall. Half of it is like a traditional deli, the other half has tables. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. Our breakfast was excellent! My wife and I ordered French toast with fruit and my in-laws had pancakes. Everything was delicious. One thing we didn't order but looked amazing, were the desserts. The cherry cheesecake and the carrot cake warrant making this trip again! Everyone here was very friendly. I recommend stopping here for a great breakfast if you're in the area! read more

Great little hole in the wall located in a small shopping plaza in Newtown. Very Covid friendly and owned by a father and son duo that is very outgoing and fun. My husband had the avocado omelette and I had the chorizo omelette with jalapeños. Both came with hash browns and toast. The omelette and coffee were huge and tasted great. Super fresh ingredients and very family friendly atmosphere. They also offer lunch and have a wide array of fresh pastries that get delivered daily from NYC. Will definitely be back They take credit card and have lots of parking read more

Starting with the positives: The food was absolutely delicious! The el burrito, French toast sticks, the bomb breakfast sandwich, avocado toast- all superb! Fresh, quality ingredients and flavorful! The drinks delicious as well- mango smoothie, frozen hot chocolate, strawberry banana smoothie, mochachino and the macchiato- all were yummy and would recommend! The teen boy working there was friendly and attentive but looked nervous and I soon came to realize why! The owner's father should NOT be working at the restaurant! He is an actual liability. The way he treated the teen employee was appalling. The boy endured verbal abuse from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. I had my three children with me and they saw me boiling with anger. I wanted so badly to say something but bit my tongue. Finally, I had to call the young employee over to speak with him to make sure he was okay. I wish I had a job to offer him because I wanted to walk him out of there with us! The old man did give my son a free donut because of a minor mess up (forgetting one meal-which was NO big deal and we did not complain.) I simply asked the teen if he could check on the meal and he did. I felt awful after because he then got reprimanded by the old man to "never go in the back and to not disturb the cooks." I overheard the old man telling a customer that she should have ordered online -several times. She replied. "Yup, I got it." I heard him tell another customer that this COVID stuff is so hard. He has to limit customers due to "your governor." The owner was in the back cooking but came up front for a few minutes. I was observing everything at this point and he seems relatively friendly. I want this business to succeed - the food is worth it- the atmosphere inside is cute- but I would NEVER sit inside again. Never! To listen to the old man abuse employees and customers... nope! This business is a diamond in the rough. We have been looking for restaurant in the area that can be our go-to for a long while and we finally found it. The father (John) and son (Mark) that own the business are extremely warm and friendly and right up our alley. Reminds us of being at a family gathering. The food is top notch and you will not find anything better in any of the surrounding cities. We have looked and failed. Don't pass this restaurant up if you are in search of a place to eat. read more

Okay, easy review. Best salad of 2023 for me! Chicken salad (made fresh daily) over lettuce, pepper's, kalamata olives, cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes.. all fresh. I split this and had half for lunch and half for dinner. So good. I can't wait to be back. read more

Ok, third time going here. I have to say after trying out breakfast places, this is the best quality, variety and live the ability to order online. Something got everyone here. Good portions to satisfy your hunger. Getting hungry trying this. Sorry no pics of other items that my family devoured. A favorite is ghetto breakfast burrito that everyone talks about here. read more

To start this place is cozy and inviting. The menu is via QR code which is fine with me (no gross menu used by 400 people). The owner is a nice guy, very engaged a chatty. You order at the counter and tell him what table number you are sitting at. The food is good! Recommend the biscuits and gravy with eggs and home fries. Best I have had since moving to to New England. Will be back. read more

Good menu choices. I know they get busy on the weekend but going on a weekday it wasn't and the counter service was quick. I like that they have quality toppings and the eggs are actually fluffy and very tasty. The place is clean and cozy. read more

The food was fantastic!! That being said I'd suggest the owner refrain from making "light" conversation about how racism came into play "when Obama took over", asking how "we can't call kids STUPID anymore, so what do you say". Also why can't we say kids are "monkeys" when playing while referring to something he heard about in a school system saying it was a young "black kid" ...his word not mine. all these comments were brought up to us as he new we were school teachers. It was extremity unnecessary and unprofessional and unprovoked and uncomfortable. To top it off, I ate half my meal and asked for a box and he gave me a sassy response " no, just eat it." I get that it was as joke, but once he saw how much I ate I could tell he was judging me on my weight. when I said I was a slow eater in response to his comment ( I had bariatric surgery years ago ). It was honestly embarrassing. Like I said, the food was great. The hospitality was...abundant but unwelcome and inappropriate. read more

Eggs and co is the best breakfast spot ever! I was coming back from my tournament in Trumbull we stopped by and it was great the waiter was in a great move and he was the only one person serving 20 other people! Stop with the bad reviews and eggs and co deserves 5 star reviews! Period!! read more

The owner is a complete and total nightmare. He is rude and abrasive. The food is expensive and sub par.

Maybe don't bring up politics when I'm trying to enjoy a nice breakfast with my family? As I sat waiting for my food to arrive I overheard the owner complaining about Covid. Not only was he mentioning how he never wore a mask, but he continued to blame Covid for his struggling business. That's just an excuse. The food was good, but nothing to rave about. Although the owner was very nice and eager to accommodate us, his inappropriate conversations left me feeling on edge. Flaunting politics, especially during these polarizing times is not good for business. read more

It truly pains me to not be able to give this place a better review because the food was very good but the I could not get passed the way the owner was acting while we were there. Very openly talking about the struggles of the business to many of the customers that just didn't feel appropriate. After reading more reviews it seems like this is a trend which is unfortunate to see. Without divulging too much a comment was made to me about not eating the food and it was just an uncomfortable interaction. I will say the pancakes were pretty alright and the omelette was very very good but unfortunately I'm not sure we'll be back. read more

I wanted to make sure I posted a review in light of the negative reviews I read on Yelp. I have been here a few times. Each time, the staff have been friendly, accommodating and extremely eager to please. Today, for example, I accidentally ordered pancakes for my wife, who wanted French Toast with her platter. Upon delivering the plate to our table, and learning of my blunder, we were offered an order of French Toast, and got to keep the pancakes, too. All of the food has been excellent, and I have not sensed any of the "rudeness" alluded to in some other reviews. You cannot please everyone all the time, but this place certainly tries. read more

We had a great breakfast at the Egg & Co. They were so warm and welcoming. Had a great easy system for ordering with scannable menu and order at the counter. Tremendous food quality. We had sausage and gravy biscuits, loaded tots and a fried chicken and egg breakfast sandwich. All of which were delicious. Had a nice chat with the Owner who makes all the food homemade with his wife for decades. Can't wait to go back soon. read more

Ridiculously rude staff. I see from other reviews that mentioned "drama" at this place because of being short-staffed, but when I was there there was only one other customer! Crazy way to treat customers. Go to Newtown General Store instead, next to Edmund Town Hall, they have a good menu and prices, and treat customers professionally. THE best breakfast burrito I've ever had. I was visiting my home town in CT and stopped in on my way up from Trumbull to Sherman CT. I'm so glad I did. It's rare to find a really good breakfast place in my opinion pretty much anywhere. WE currently live in Florida. It's the same here with the breakfast places. (Im pretty picky) Not only was the food great and made fresh, the owner was so much fun. He's also an experienced chef. I really appreciated him and the ambiance as well. I also bought some homemade chocolates for my friends as a gift while there. Yum! Ill be going there every time I visit CT and telling my CT friends about it. read more

The place is pleasant looking and clean. The coffee and food are terrific. However, the owner made me extremely uncomfortable. He got into politics and the struggles of his store in such a way that are both unhealthy and unpleasant. If he were to stop bickering and have a positive outlook, I would come back. Based on reading other reviews, there is an absolute and distinct pattern of behavior that is most unwelcoming. It's a shame because that place has so much potential! read more

Party of 5, quiet late morning/early afternoon. Realized that we had to order ourselves after seating ourselves at 2 tables that we had to pull together in an inconvenient fashion. We ordered and looked forward to receiving our food as it all sounded good and was talked up quite a bit by the chef/server (gentleman performed both roles). No one in our party was wowed by what we received~ basic breakfast fare, no panache or originality, and fries/onion rings very obviously from frozen. Syrup was not genuine maple syrup which would have made a difference. Pancakes were from a mix (bisquick or some such) and were very bland (maybe could use cinnamon or vanilla for a lift)...just "meh". Our tab was well over $100 and that was before a generous tip. So disappointing... read more
