The bagels are just great, lots of choices and every choice is a good one. The owner is a lovely woman who gives back to the community constantly. Her pricing is never constant though, just a quirk, let it go, even if its high, next time it will be low and its never expensive. My go to is an egg everything breakfast sandwich and it always rocks. Don't plan on eating that in the car though, the everything will get everywhere. Best bagels around. read more

I stopped going here, not because of the bagels which are big and fluffy but because of two things... the prices are not posted and vary each time and the owner is oblivious to the long line of people trying to pay for their order and has more than the polite three second conversation with a patron. If you go there, prepare to stand and wait while she holds court with her regulars. read more

In a dreary Thursday morning, our fantastic Virgina surprised the crew with 20 bagels from this lil ole place in Newtown, which is almost an hour away from our place of employment. We were informed about Eunice, the owner of this business, and without having met her, she is the MVP of the year in our neck of the woods. She insisted on slicing all twenty bagel without even being asked. This saved us from breaking twenty plastic knives in attempt to cut these thicc, bad boys. These bagels were generously portioned that were nice and fluffy on the inside with a great crisp after being toasted. Half of a slice was plenty for a morning like this. Would go again, but since it's an hour away, unfortunately it may not be so often. Anytime I'm in the area, I'll be sure to stop by. Thank you Virgina but also thank you to Eunice for a pleasant surprise on a rainy Thursday. read more

Bagel Delight - cinnamon raisin bagel - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Newtown, Connecticut

The best bagel you will ever have! Open 365 days, this is the most committed staff you'll meet. Eunice, the owner, will take the time to speak to each customer and wins you over instantly. Sometimes there is a line but it is worth the wait. It is a family friendly setting that uses counter service and displays the bagel flavors in baskets. The bagels are very thick and cream cheese portion even thicker, so make sure you go hungry. They offer multiple cream cheese flavors along with sandwich options. The hidden gem menu item is the chicken salad. Be sure to try it! read more

We kicked off our Sunday with a half dozen bagels from Bagel Delight with our traveling guests. The bagels were big and fluffy! While the flavor of some bagels were excellent (poppy and sesame), the plain and cinnamon raisin bagels seemed to miss the mark. The cinnamon raisin bagel needed more cinnamon and more raisins! Otherwise, each bagel toasted nicely at home and was very filling! read more

Two stars because the bagels here really are good, and the owner seems like a nice person. But I completely agree with the other reviewers about the prices - they need to display the price and not make it up. I bought 1 untoasted bagel with cream cheese and one bagel with nothing on it. $8. Even if the bagel with cream cheese was $5, was a plain bagel $3? Got home, found barely any cream cheese on the bagel. read more

This place is getting super slow!! The last 2 times it has taken over 20 minutes to get a bagel with only a few people on line. Anyone work there anymore?!?!? Then what's going on with the prices? Crazy read more

Best bagels around. NY Style. Small sitting area but love love love these bagels. Excellent service from owner.

Been a loyal customer of Bagel Delight for 20 years. Today I was absolutely shocked when I was charged $17 for 2 bagels with cream cheese and a Yoo-hoo. The bagels are terrific but the pricing is totally out of control. Sadly I won't be returning. read more

I guess after 13 years from last review an update is needed. This store has continued to crank out the best bagels around. The sandwiches are also noteworthy as is Eunice's kindness and generosity. She goes above and beyond providing provisions for local nonprofit groups. Such a wonderful person. read more

Bagel Delight is a lovely local bagel shop. The bagels are wonderful but their customer service is notable. The woman at the register is so sweet and clearly knows many of her customers personally which I thought was lovely! The line on a Sunday morning was quite long, but they are really efficient and the line and wait for my bagel was very reasonable. The bagels were coming out piping hot and fresh!! The employees were saying how they were hot and fresh out of the oven. My sesame bagel was so soft and warm, I could tell that it was very fresh. It was topped with the perfect amount of yummy scallion cream cheese. I don't love when people over do it on the cream cheese, but not the case here! read more

The only real bagel place in the area. Fresh out of the oven, the bagels are soft and doughy. You can wait for them to cool if you want more texture to them. Everyone was there to get bagels on Easter Day. Staff friendly and kept the line moving. Casual setting to get your bagels and go. Did see some reviews saying no prices listed. Would be good to list so there's transparency around that. read more

So they have plenty of off street parking as it's in a large shopping plaza area. The place is run by a mom / daughter combo everything is cooked to order so the line is the line not to long but moved quickly once ordered . The bagels are racked in the open so you can see what they have which is the standard variations i didn't see any specials but I wasn't really looking either as I had my heart set on what I ordered. They have a few tables of you want to eat in but most people today was to go orders with a brisk business. The bagel was light and airy not a real hard outer crunch and not chewy on the inside more like a roll than a bagel being not dense. The flavor was fantastic as it covered all the levels and had really nice taste. My bagel was not toasted but was fine the way it was . The meat was plentiful the eggs fresh and the sandwich very tasty for my rainy Sunday morning . Overall I was pleased with my purchase but found the bagel itself lacking in that crunchy outer crust and chewy interior . Was worth the drive and if you're in newtown CT it's centrally located down the street from the flagpole is worth a try but I have found better for the area and still prefer as does UCONN AM bagel in Derby CT .. or Bagel King in Bridgeport CT. read more

Large delicious bagels along with their vegetable spread. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Best bagels that I've had in the area! Exactly what I want when I need a good bagel - worth the almost 20 minute drive. Never disappoints!

This bagel shop is outstanding. Fresh bagels every morning. Perfect softness complimented by a gentle toasting. Cannot go wrong with the classic everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. All sandwiches on the menu are delicious. Bagel delight also has the best breakfast sandwich you can get on a bagel. The team is caring enough to cook your eggs exactly how you like them. From extra runny to fried you name it. Can't find many spots like this.. Eunice has run this shop for decades - consistently above and beyond. read more

A small spot with the basic bagel staples done perfectly. The basket labels included everything, plain, cinnamon raison, sesame, onion, rainbow, and egg. However, not all of those baskets had many or any of those by the time I got there, which was around 8:00 am. Not a huge variety, but I still did get 18 to take for my conference. I also picked up plain, chive, and strawberry cream cheeses and a few cherry pastries. I felt kind of bad because I felt like I was cleaning them out and there were quite a few people coming in as I was paying. However, it gave me great confidence I had made the right choice though. The bagels are very large, so save your appetite. Even without being toasted, they have a slight crispness to the outside. The inside was soft and still warm! So lovely. I had picked the everything with the chive cream cheese. I was full after eating a whole one but just couldn't resist a half as a snack only a few hours later. Great little place! read more

Very disappointed. As a first time customer, it will be my only visit. I placed an order a week in advance only to show up as scheduled to find my order had never been put together. Some of the items were no longer available and I was overcharged for the rest. They charge $45 a lb for lox, but do not put the price on their menu. "You should have known how expensive lox were." Never again. read more

What a gem! This spot is so unassuming as you might drive passed without noticing they're here. But stop, drop and come in!! They have the freshest, soft and crusty bagels that are hard found in CT. Very Ny style and addicting. It's a small shop but their offerings pack a big punch. The tuna and chicken salads are some of the best around. If you want a really good bagel .. this is your place!! And the service is always friendly with a warm smile! read more

Visiting family in Newtown, there was a bagel craving today... so thanks Bagel Delight for filling a hunger need before a big event day! These are awesomely fresh, large, thick and soft (inside) and flavorful bagels that were just baked! Wow, and the bagel aromas on the car ride home made our mouth water too! Ordered a dozen to go, including Everything, Salt, Sesame, and Multi-grain type bagels. A dozen cost was ~$10. Brought 'em home, warmed 'em up slightly for a toastier crunch, added cream cheese and fixin's and these hit the mark for today's brunch, yum! Although we didn't order breakfast there, the menu offers several enticing morning sandwich options such as Avocado, Egg, Meats and Cheese etc. Cost seems reasonable for a breakfast sandwich, so we'll definitely be going back to try BD again over the coming days during our stay! Enjoy! read more

The bagels were flavorless. The eggs were gray and overcooked and the order was wrong. We took one bite of our sandwiches and threw all three of them out. The prices are totally made up. I ordered 4 bagels yesterday with butter and the price was $21.00. Last time I went and got the same exact order (2 weeks ago), it was $27.00. When you ask for a receipt, you get the CC one with no listed items. When you see the one the owner takes from the register, it has made up items on it. Regardless of the bagels being good or not, paying over $4 for one bagel with butter is crazy. This is the second time this has happened to me so I won't be going back. read more

My fiancé and his friend were on a mission Sunday morning to get breakfast sandwiches to bring home for us. Unfortunately our go to was closed so my fiancé looked on yelp for another bagel shop and Bagel Delight popped right up! My fiancé got me a ham egg and cheese on an everything bagel with a hash brown inside of it! The bagel alone was amazing! It was super thick and fluffy and packed so much flavor! Inside the bagel was just the right amount of egg and cheese but the star was how much ham was put into it! The ham was super fresh and delicious! This is easily on my list of top three bagel places! I am so happy our original place was closed so we could try Bagel Delight out. I'm salivating just writing this review! Wish I had another bagel now!!!! Highly recommend! read more

I was extremely thirsty today and wanted to just grab a bottled drink with my wife... we got one bottle peach ice tea ... and one bottle Yoo-hoo. The owner was lovely .... We were traveling and found this place on Yelp to grab a quick bagel and coffee. So glad we did! The bagels, cream cheese and coffee were delicious, but the service was my favorite! Closest thing to a NY/NJ bagel I have found in CT. Bagels are thick, soft and fluffy. Several flavors of cream cheese applied with an excellent cream cheese ratio. Eunice is beyond rude to employees and its outrageous to watch her talk down to them and yell at them as she does. She also makes up prices and completely rips off everyone who walks thru the door. You ask for a receipt and all it has is a total. There is not one price printed in that store. She charged my son $4.75 for a chocolate milk. The fact she has the business she does is shame on us who actually go there. After what I witnessed I will never step thru the door again. $7.35 for a bacon egg on a bagel! Stop it you criminal! read more
