    Coffee flavors, gluten free bagels
    Marianna O.

Absolutely love this place! They're always super quick and get your order just the way you like it. I really appreciate that they have gluten-free bagels and not just any GF bagels, but really good ones! The GF cinnamon raisin bagel is hands down the best I've ever had. Their coffee is amazing too, I'm obsessed with the coconut flavor and love trying all their fun new options. Plus, they've got awesome smoothies and the prices are so reasonable. Easily one of my go-to spots! It's so cute inside too!

Bagels are disappointing. Cinnamon raisin bagel had exactly 1 single raisin in the whole bagel and zero flavor of cinnamon. Purchased Oct 26 '25

GF Everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese

***Gluten friendly*** Lots of gluten free bagel options!! However, they weren't the best GF bagels I've ever had. I ordered a pork roll egg and cheese on a garlic GF bagel and an everything GF bagel with the jalapeño cream cheese. I would 1000% recommend the jalapeño cream cheese SO good. I was there pretty early on a Saturday and the line wasn't too long. It did take a while to get my food, but everything came out hot and fresh and well cared for with my gluten allergy. They definitely have a great community vibe there - customers and staff were chatting so I felt like it was a nice local atmosphere. Fresh GF bagels are hard to come by - although these weren't my favorite I give them 4 stars for making it accessible and having many options! A sign also said they had GF bread and there were lunch options - I'd be curious to check that out!

    Kaatz Pond Sandwich

Good selection of bagels and sandwiches at this place. I came in on a weekday morning so it wasn't too crowded. I'm a traditionalist so I ordered the Kaatz Pond sandwich-lox, cream cheese, onions, tomato and capers with a multigrain everything bagel. The bagel was just as I like with crisp exterior and soft interior and the sandwich had heaps of cream cheese. Good quality lox and fresh, ripe tomatoes. All in all a very good sandwich!

Bacon egg and cheese on house made everything bagel, 2 eggs, plenty of bacon... eggs not overdone... juicy and delicious.

Great bagel and a great BEC at a reasonable price and made quickly! Clean bright place too. Easy in and out plenty of parking.

They have very good options in addition to the usual egg & cheese confections that you'd expect to find, which include panini sandwiches & plenty of cappuccino offerings. The place definitely has a Fairfield vibe to it & would do well almost anywhere on the Post Road. It is *very* popular with SHU students so expect at least a 10-15 minute wait for your food on weekends unless you call in your order in advance. Inside seats about 20-25 comfortably.

So I need 9 bagels and then she's like r u sure you don't need 12.. and I really don't, 9 is plenty. But do I go for the dozen?? Sure I do LOL. I get 12, but ohhhhh no If you order 12 they give ya a bakers dozen so now I'm at 13, plus my original rye bagel.. I get my order and I leave, and I think : man I got upsold on bagels! lol I head home, kids get out of school and all happy w fresh bagels. Then the snow comes, Friday night snow, Saturday snow, Saturday nigh snow, Sunday snow and Sunday nights it's snowing again, I go to the bagel and there's 1.5 bagels left and I think to myself, I didn't get upsold... that lady was a bagel angel!! These folks have been snacking on delicious bagels the entire long weekend.. I waited for half hour for the line to move, before I made it inside. They still had plenty of Xmas themed bagels. I got a dozen. The staff were super nice, attentive, and worked really fast to get people in and out as soon as possible. The place itself is nice big bright and inviting. I got a half dozen of their green and red plain bagels, a Jalapeno cheddar bagel with plain cream cheese and bacon (they put lots on yum and it was crispy), and another plain holiday bagel with their Christmas bark cream cheese. These were some of the best bagels I've ever had thus far in my life. The dozen remained warm for an hour after I picked them up. They were so soft all day, from morning, well into the evening. I can't wait to go back and I'm super happy I waited in that line. My family was extremely happy to try them as well. Nice Xmas Eve morning delight.

ORIGIN: Popup Bagels was founded by Adam Goldberg during the…read moreheight of the pandemic, when Goldberg explored bread baking. Initially sharing with friends and family, the Connecticut resident started selling via popups and pickups in New York and Connecticut. You would think New York already had a good source of bagels, but after its first stand-alone location opened in 2021, momentum developed and other storefronts were initiated in New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. LOCATION: This Popup Bagels is located in a shopping plaza in suburban Newtown, Connecticut. CONCEPT: Compared to other bagel shops, Popup Bagels a limited number of bagel flavors (plain, salt, everything, poppy, sesame) and tubs of weekly-changing flavors of butter and cream cheese (such as martini cream cheese and lemon butter) in addition to those regularly available (such as scallion cream cheese). Sandwiches are not prepared for customers -- they are encouraged to "grip, rip, and dip" bagels into their chosen Schmear. ATMOSPHERE: The interior is crisply designed with a modern feel. SERVICE: From an investment perspective, the concept is brilliantly efficient. Limited hours (7-noon Wednesday and Thursday, 7-1 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), limited choices, no sandwich/beverage prep, and online ordering encouraged, make the service efficient from both effort and material perspective. FOOD: Compared to other bagel shops the bagels are attractively packaged with open totes, inviting the aroma of the bagels to greet the customer. The exterior is covered by the topping, rather than sprinkled. The bagel is crisp and chewy on the exterior, but fluffy in the interior. In addition, tubs of smoked fish-based spreads are available. TIPS: The chain is expanding into Southern California. On Thursdays Schmear flavors change. The flavors are announced on Popup Bagels website. Although pre-orders are welcomed to ensure your pick, the online system does demand a minimum of a dozen are purchased. Ordering in person allows a three bagel minimum. The company recommends running water over the bagels, and placing in a preheated 350 degree oven for six minutes to crisp the exterior. Note the shop closes at noon on weekdays, 1 o'clock on weekends.

The bagels were warm, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the scallion cream cheese "schmear" was tasty. I liked the rip and dip idea. We would put them in our top 5 in CT! We'll be back to try more of their schmear specials!

And had I…read morenot been halfway down the highway by the time I'd unwrapped it, I'd have brought it back. Just look at the picture. This bagel looks like someone tried to hit it with cream cheese from thirty yards away. And mostly missed. When I sent this photo to a friend, their response was, "Wtf is that? Did you order a bagel with 1/3 cream cheese?" Indeed I did not. One year ago, this was not happening at Bagel Bros. of Shelton. My last few experiences, however, have seen a decrease in bagel size, bagel variety, and cream cheese. To be clear, I'd have been upset if I received this as a Depression-era ration. One star for the coffee, which was hot. Bagel Bros. crew: please head down the street and order a bagel and cream cheese from AM Bagel to see how the competition is packing their parking lot every single day. They spread the cream cheese on both sides with a generous portion as ALL other bagel shops do, and which, at an up charge of $2.34 per bagel in your shop, I hope you will, too. This was a great shop a year ago, but somewhere along the line it seems as if management has decided to squeeze the customer. I may try this spot again in a month or two (truly I used to frequent it), and if this is the quality I receive at that time, I will never return.
