I've been there many times, I used to go often. It's decent enough. This last time I was there I asked for a cinnamon raisin bagel with butter on the side. When I saw the lady cut my bagel in half (they charge for this), I asked her if I could just have the bagel as is, not cut. She scowled at my as she grabbed me another bagel like it was the end of the world. If it didn't cost anything, I would have let it slide, but they're literally adding on a service I didn't ask for and then trying to charge for it. No thanks I'll take my business elsewhere. I just want what I ask for, if I need my bagel cut for me, I'll ask, but not if you charge to cut it, come on lol. "One bagel, uncut, please!" No thanks, I'll pass. read more

Searched bagels while we were in the area and really lucked out. My husband and I both had egg sandwiches on bagels and they were excellent. Staff friendly and so efficient. Noticed how many customers greeted them by name, so clearly a loyal following. Would definitely return if in the area. read more

This is my 2nd time going into the store. The staff is okay. I wouldn't call them friendly or rude just indifferent on both occasions. My review is really for the service and price. I know with inflation everything cost more. I ordered a bialy with 1/4 chicken salad. The items are already overpriced but when being rung I got charged $1 extra. I questioned the cashier who stated this was for cutting and heating the bialy. What!!? It's a ripofff. I'm already overpaying for a single bagel. What's next being charged for eating there. Today I decided to have Bagel King. I wanted a light lunch so I went for the Chicken Salad Sandwich. It's not the first time I've had it. I've had it many times before. The salad is very flavorful and the right amount of crunch factor such as celery added into the sandwich. It was very delicious and the customer service is always spot on and fast. read more

I really like the taste and crunchiness of their bagels. I'm a bit concerned about their sanitation though. I recently went in and ordered a bagel and the person who waited on me, just finished handling money with her gloved hand. She then proceeded to use the same hand and take the bagel out of the bin. I called her out on it and she changed into clean gloves, I guess just to try to satisfy me. As I was leaving, I saw her take the same bagel she had grabbed with her dirty gloves and throw it back into the bagel bin. U have been going here for years and today was the last time. I ordered a salt bagel, scooped out and toasted with tuna. I am told they can't scoop out bagels anymore- something they and every other bagel store in the tri-state area does. Well, apparently someone complained about the way their bagel was scooped so they have stopped doing it in the last week or two. Completely absurd! First visit today. Bagels were very dense, the everything bagel in particular was very salty (and I like salt). But worst part was the added tomato slice that was literally white like snow except for an 1/16th inch outer band of milky orange color. I also appreciate that they offer the "flaggle" not as dense & doughy as a regular Bagel w/o compromising on flavor & crunch as well as variety. They serve the very best scallion, salmon, jalapeno cream cheeses though! Also, they serve real Bialys- many places don't except Oscar's Jewish Deli in Westport CT. Salt, poppy seed, sesame seed, everything, rye, pumpernickel, onion, plain, Cinnamon raisin bagels. For years the Bagel King has had the best bagels--crispy crust, perfect combination of air pockets and dense texture inside, and excellent flavor. In the last couple months, however, the bagels have become more like those flavorless fluffy boiled doughnuts sold as bagels elsewhere. They haven't quite sunk to those lows, but they are getting there, and I'm no longer sure they are worth the trip. read more

A sad sad sad place. Decent bagels and terrible everything else makes it hard to recommend to anyone who doesn't self loath. I have come here at least a dozen times and I feel it is time to make an assessment. First, I was a previous food business owner, so I'm being fair when I say that I understand sanitation, customer service, experience. I don't need to beat a dead horse - many people have hit the nail on the head with describing the manager as rude. Sanitation: handling money and then touching bagels with your bare hands is gross and a violation. Please use latex or vinyl gloves. Customer service: Miserable is the only way I can describe the vibe. Unhappy ownership or abandoned management. You won't feel good about buying a bagel here, unless you have a little hate for yourself. It's frustrating too because the bagels are better than Einstein's across the street. This place will slowly go out of business. Experience: I would say they need about 10k in a Makeover to help make this bagel shop into a place where you would actually want to go and eat. The only way I can describe it is the waiting room of a gas station service department. This is as authentic as it gets, and I fondly remember watching the bagels float around and the giant chocolate chip cookies as a kid eons ago but the quality is still there. My parents used to grab a bag of a dozen random bagels every single Sunday but the Everything bagel was always my favorite without question.
