Not sure what the hype was about this place, but my daughter insisted we try this place. Just from the line outside I could tell this is a popular spot as there was a line outside, though it was moving fast. The place has a very small section inside, mainly a counter for ordering and displaying the items. Even at 11AM most f the stuff was sold out, so we went for the basic lox with cream cheese on a bagel, and I also ordered a Halloween Cookie. The bagel was ok, pretty small for the price we paid and the cookie wasn't anything memorable either. I must be missing something, but the line outside suggested otherwise. read more

Tried Bar Bagel in Fairfield this past weekend because I wanted to see what the hype was about with the viral Spooky Latte which was creamy and delicious! We ordered a sausage, egg & cheese on a bagel and a bacon, egg & cheese on a bagel -- both were good, but nothing to write home about. It was already pretty busy for an early Sunday morning, so clearly it's a popular spot. My son got a rainbow bagel with strawberry cream cheese and loved it -- that was probably the highlight of our visit. Always love a new bagel place in my hometown, so I stopped in this weekend to try it out. It's the same layout as the previous tenant, with the counter at the front and a couple of places to sit in a bar like setting near the window. I'll give them a total pass on the service since they're obviously still training, but it took a few minutes to get our order taken. Everyone was pleasant though. Onto the food, we ordered a couple of bacon, egg and cheeses. They were solid sandwiches - the eggs were flavorful and the bacon was well done, which I love. The bagels themselves aren't my favorite - they have a good crisp to the outside, but they're a little bready on the inside. Seems like they'd be a bit better toasted, but that's sacrilege to me on a fresh bagel. Cost-wise, it was about the same as other bagel spots in the area. Altogether I think it's worth a try to see if the bagels are your thing. read more

Great food and most of the staff is really friendly and kind. I've had speedy service and find that when calling ahead, my food is ready in less than 10min! I've ordered delivery, pickup, and in-house ordering and all have left me and my family full and happy. Food tastes great and the atmosphere is comfortable. However, there is one staff member whose name I don't know who works most mornings and has made several off-color comments that I can't ignore anymore. I tried looking for an email to reach out to the owner, but their website seems down. I'm not comfortable saying the words that were said in front of me and my children when picking up our food, but it was derogatory and inappropriate. She's also just generally unfriendly and makes everything about her (ie; when short staffed and she complains the whole time she's prepping our food/drinks). Perhaps she's a great employee, but if that's the case she should go through extensive customer service training or just not work the front of house. I really wish this one employee wasn't tarnishing my entire experience, but it's been a negative experience with her every time (10+ times in-store) and is starting to wear on me. Order from Bar Bagel frequently but will find another place. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese extra toasted and again I got a bagel untoasted with the worst schmear of cream cheese. Pissed. Called and they offered nothing other than I come get a replacement. I am at work. That is the whole point of ordering uber eats. 2nd time and before that the delivery driver just left my bagel in the foyer of our building and did not bring it to me as the directions stated. I actually love the food and when I arrived at 6am full of anticipation, it was a decision. Do I wait until, they open or go across the street. I waited as I wanted there delicious bagels and cappuccino. Then I encountered the staff. I am sure a nice lady but not very customer centric. I approached as she opened the door close to opening time as I was going to sit at a table outside until they were ready. Then the feeling of interupting her work day, the joy and anticipation disappeared and the feeling of what can I do to make her day easier vs the amazing experience i was expecting. Would I come back, the answer is no, unless the place trains the front to be more customer centric. This is the second time I have tried this place with amazing food but was hopeful that my first experience was a one off. Unfortunately, it was not so I will lament over the expectation of good good but I dont want to experience another encounter this person who is stuck in her head and has to be exact and right with every statement and action she takes. read more

Nice people working there but their bagel fare terrible. Bagels are more like eating wonder bread I'm pretty sure you could get a better bagel at a grocery store. Also, if you have a nut allergy or their muffins are full of nuts. read more
