Bagels are decent but there's been a few times I've gotten a very stale bagel. Also, incredibly stingy on cream cheese - I have learned to always ask for extra (which is charged as such). The bacon egg and cheeses I have gotten from here have chewy bacon (ick) and one egg - unfortunately not a place I will go to for anything other than a bagel. This place used to be my hands down #1 spot for bagels. Now most of the time the phone never gets answered, and today I ordered via phone my husband came in to get our order and apparently they gave it to someone else. What a waste of time. Save your $$ and go elsewhere. read more

Beware of upcharges. Bacon egg and cheese bagel is $5 but somehow bacon and cheese (no egg) is $10!! Apparently an extra piece of cheese and having it served open face doubles the cost. I questioned the owner and she said it's more because of the "extra cheese" and because it's served "open face". I guess if you add an egg, remove a piece of cheese, and close the sandwich, you can save $5. The place was clean and had a nice selection of sandwiches but you can't up charge to the point that the meal is beyond a reasonable price. No bagel sandwich should be $10. read more

I haven't been here recently but previously went here many times for lunch. I really like the chicken sandwich that they make, it always tastes very fresh and the rolls are nice and fresh as well. I don't think they actually make the bagels here but they are quite fresh too. The staff sometimes seems a bit abrupt but I think it's not meant that way. It's a nice local place to check out if you are nearby. read more

My husband picked up an order at Bagel Crossing. The order was incorrect. My husband bought 2 sandwiches 1 egg and cheese and 1 turkey for $19.00. The egg and cheese was wrong and the turkey was so thin that it wasn't worth anywhere near what was charged. He went there as opposed to another local place to try to support a smaller local business. This is the third time my order has been wrong so I called. I was told by the owner that if I didn't like it, I should take my business elsewhere. It must be nice in this economy to be that independent that you can turn business away. Needless to say, we will no longer be going there, which is really unfortunate because for a long time they were really very good. read more

Cute little hole in the wall shop across from a pizza place and ice cream shop. It is almost hidden if you don't open your eyes wide when driving by you will miss it. Menu is in a large chalkboard on the main wall of the restaurant and has a few tables for those who want to dine in. I came in for lunch and was disappointed when there were no gluten free options on the bagels. I settled for chicken salad on a bed of salad I was not impressed took forever to make and it was made with canned chicken. Most likely won't be back. I always try the Jalapeño cream cheese bagel. They make it with fresh jalapeño I was told. It's not the pickled version that people normally associate with jalapeno in sandwiches, but rather crunchy and fresh. I also tried one of their breakfasts, the egg, cheese sandwich. It was good enough, and make sure you ask for it toasted. One of the ladies behind the counter is very friendly and kind and chatty. The other one seemed to be in training and still trying to find her way. A lot of the bethel police seem to frequent this place, as I always see a car or two parked in that parking lot~! So show this local place some love and feel a slice of the bethel community, mostly the aged as the Bishop Curtis Homes is in this neighbourhood. read more

So disappointed this is usually one of my favorites but man today was awful! First of all they need to update their website because we placed an order over the phone going by the website only to get there and find the prices extremely higher. When I pointed out that my bagel was supposed to be $8.99 not $11.99 according to their website she replies "website hasn't been updated in ten years, this is the price." My 3 year old wanted 2 slices of bacon and one piece of toast which she tried to charge me $4.70 as a breakfast sandwich I said she didn't get the two eggs why are you charging me for them she copped an attitude. My husband ordered BEC with avocado on toast. The bacon was raw (I'm posting a pic) and the avocado was hard as a rock. I open my sandwich they put on very thin slice of lox on the bagel they charged me $12 for and it was slimy. $28 for breakfast to go and not a single beverage. I won't be going back and should have stuck with Jacqueline's. At least their friendly. And FYI they do NOT make the bagels there, so it's a gamble if it will be fresh. read more

Don't know where the "rude employees" reviews are coming from, but as of Easter Sunday 2016 these gals were very friendly and nice. Soft, fresh bagels too and the bacon scallion crm chz was so good I bought a container for my house. Oh, an yoo-hoo in a can! Can't beat that. read more

Owner / manager needs to learn customer service skills. I've been coming here almost every morning for 3 years, and today the owner (I guess) happened to be there and charged me $18 (double) for a bagel with cream cheese and lox because I wanted it open face. That's never been a problem for three years, but she said I have to pay double. I told her that's ridiculous and she gave me attitude. These are the best bagels within a 30 minute radius of Ridgefield that I have found. I would drive 30 minutes just for the walnut and honey cream cheese. I don't think I am alone. It's a tiny little place so don't miss it! The bagels here are large, fluffy, and chewy. They are excellent in flavor, texture, and appearance. These might be the best bagels I have had in Connecticut but nothing compares to an authentic New York bagel. These are I think just a bit less dense than a NY bagel. They have a great selection including the now harder to find egg bagel. Some places stopped carrying it altogether due to allergies apparently. As far as I know (and I have searched extensively) if you want a bagel in this part of CT you can't do any better than to come here. Don't forget the cream cheese I recommend. read more

I decided to find closer bagel places than the same old Bagel Man that I had always gone too. I needed a change. I decided to stop by Bagel Crossing. Bagel Crossing was great! This shop is clean and I was immediately greeted with a smile on their face. Seemed to be family ran. Very happy, warm, and energetic environment. There was a customer there at the same time as me that they referred to by first name. They seem to be on a very friendly basis with their customers. I asked for a sausage and cheese bagel w/o eggs and I got charged for the 2 eggs. I also asked for a hash brown, got charged a $1 more. Since I saw that the bag didn't come with a hash brown, I asked for it, she said she DIDN'T have ANY and that I didn't get charged. Yet I still got charged that $1. This is the BEST bagel shop in the area. I've lived in the Danbury/Bethel area for 6 months now and going to this little bagel shop has become a weekly tradition. Bagels: They taste great but even better toasted. I'm determined to try every flavor of cream cheese and bagel combo. For a while I was stuck on an everything bagel w/salmon spread dressed (capers, onion, tomato). Then the bacon scallion on a sesame bagel. Today sun dried tomato bagel w/ olive spread, amaze! Another reviewer had another combo that I'm looking forward to try (everything w/veggie spread, lox dressed, yum!) Pastries: They have great pastries at the counter that are also very yummy. Cranberry muffin is my fave this month. Coffee: The hazel nut coffee there is also fantastic. When I take the train I always stop by to get some instead of another popular chain. Went for lunch. Had a sandwich (chipotle chicken I think). They only have a few tables, and the only one left was right next to the bathroom which wasn't to pleasant. The ladies are very nice and personable. The food was average. Maybe the bagels/breakfast are better. Edit: 10/31/17. I have been back a few times. Definitely prefer the breakfast sandwiches. The onion bagel is great. Only knock as mentioned by someone else is prices are a tad high. I got a naked juice and it was I think $4.50. read more

Good solid bagels. I normally get the everything bagels by half dozen but I'm usually there within an hour of closing, so they sometimes may not be able to give you a full half dozen of same type by end of the day. The salt, cinnamon raisin, and blueberrry bagels are also good. Staff has always been pleasant when I've been in. read more
