Great specialty dogs at an expensive price. The bun is toasted which helps hold things together. The dog (locally sourced CT wiener) is split and griddled which gives you that nice crisp texture and Maillard flavor. The toppings are decent, I still can't decide if I like the chili or not. Service inside is friendly with a small counter to sit at. The only thing holding me back from coming all the time is price. 8 dollars for the Mongo with a Red hot is pushing the boundaries of what I'm willing to spend for a normal sized dog. Dogtown is a no-frills hot dog joint where you can build your own hot dog or get some of the specialties and burgers. There are no fries but tater tots. It's a good place for kids. Hot dogs were tasty, but I was irked at having to pay .50 for sauerkraut. Totchos were tots with chili, cheese pico de gallo and jalapeños. With a soda it comes to a whopping $23. Service was fine. 4 stars because of the tall prices and not favorable location. Parking is small and in a busy part of downtown bethel. I would come back if I don't feel like driving down to Jordan's hotdogs and mac in New haven. read more

My very first time trying Dogtown. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was hopping. They offer two types of hot dogs local to CT. The Original - Pork and Beef Blend from Martin Rosol in New Britain, and the Kosher - Hummel from New Haven. When I walked in the young women at the register happily greeted me. I ordered two hummels with brown mustard and tater tots with cheese. There are only six stools with a small counter. So I had to take my food to go and eat in the car. I could not get a picture of the decor because they were so busy. I did not want any of the other customers thinking I was taking their picture. I was full after my two hot dogs and wasted more of the tater tots than I would have liked. My food was delicious, hot, and filling! Dogtown has brought delicious hot dogs to town! They also offer an amazing selection of toppings, and a variety of side options and great alternatives for those not into dogs. Service was very quick and everything was packed into a convenient carton tray that makes it easy to carry & transport. I just wished they didn't already close at 4pm. read more

Don't miss this new gem in Bethel, open for lunch only. 1st time we went they were sold out, 2nd time out of hot dog buns so had mine on a hamburger bun and it was still great. Next time I had the burger and it was very good but the last trip was the McWiennie and it was great. read more
