Half eaten chili dog.. it was a long dog
Scott N.

Solid chili dog, good fries and nice chocolate shake. Not many of these places left. I would recommend stopping here. Definitely satisfied my chili dog craving.

I'm going five stars here. Great location. Very tasty dogs and fresh toppings. A down-home style place to eat. If you're on the road, look no further. One of the last great hot dog places in the area.

Good simple food. Quick service. We decided to stop and have a snack. We each had a footlong hot dog with sauerkraut and mustard, which was very good. We will be back again to try something else.

The Chicago Dog and the basket of French Fries and Onion Rings. YUM

This is exactly what you want from a hot dog place, it's perfect. There's not much more to say.

This is a great place in the tradition of roadside diners. The food is fresh, hot, and delicious. And very affordable.

Chomp Chomp

ORIGIN: Chomp Chomp opened in Fall 2024. It is the first…read moreand only Chomp Chomp. LOCATION: Chomp Chomp is located in the middle of the Danbury Fair Mall food court. ATMOSPHERE: Since Chomp Chomp is located in a mall food court, the atmosphere is as expected -- lots of background noises, scents, and activity. In a nutshell, not a relaxing place to gather and dine. CONCEPT: Chomp Chomp is fast food, but offers a curiously diverse list of dishes such as pastrami sandwiches, rice bowls, pork belly bao, and Oklahoma-style burgers. Likewise, Chomp Chomp offers a diverse range of beverages to complement your chosen dish, including mango milkshake, Coke, and creamsicle float. FOOD: So much is offered on the menu, but I've been enamored by the Oklahoma-style burger and have yet to explore the menu. As I understand this century-old regional burger preparation method, beef is smashed on a grill, seasoned, topped with thin slices of onions, which in turn are covered with cheese. Steam from the onions permeates the cheese as it melts. The result is a super moist burger in which flavors of each component are married, rather than contrasted. SERVICE: Each time I've visited the person working the counter was enthusiastic about the new business and eager to offer guidance. TIP: For a few dollars more you can get fries and a drink. For a single burger this ends up being around cost of McDonald's ($12), but the quality, service, and flavor is far better at Chomp Chomp. The Oklahoma burger is available as single or double. I found that the flavor was more pronounced in the double version. Toppings are customizable. For example, you can add lettuce and tomato on a burger, or add meat or sauces to fries. (That said, I prefer to stick to the original Oklahoma burger version in order to experience the regional burger in its original form.)

We were looking for a quick dinner and saw good reviews for Chomp Chomp. When we pulled in to the…read moreMall, I was still hopeful as I had not been to the mall in a long time. Found a lot of the places in the food court were gone. But Chomp chomp was there. The counter guy was friendly and patient. My husband ordered the pastrami burger and I had the smash burger. Both had the fries and drinks special. The burger was tasty. But the sauce made it very slippery and finally I couldn't finish it. I felt I had hit my greasy limit for the day. My husband devoured his. But ultimately couldn't finish it either. My conclusion is that it wasn't for us. Our stomachs can't take greasy like we use to. Which is a shame, because it did taste good. I suggest you give it a try and see if you like it.

No more. I've given up on this place. I went a few times in the past and it was "good enough."…read moreUnfortunately, the two most recent times I walked out very frustrated. Today, I ordered Crab Cakes Benedict and as they were being brought to the table I smelled a strong fishy smell and I have a weak sense of smell. I took one bite and lo and behold, it tasted off. I let them know and asked for just regular Eggs Benedict. She asked if I wanted Canadian Bacon and I asked for other options, and decided on regular bacon. I waited a little bit and they brought it out with Canadian Bacon, not regular bacon, I was about to just take it off and eat it but the girl realized her mistake and said she would fix it. By the time they brought out the "third" version we barely had any time left. It comes time to pay and the bill has Crab Cakes Benedict $20. I mentioned it to the server because what I ate was cheaper and she said "the kitchen told me to charge you that." Excuse me?! You mean the fishy, old crabcakes that could have gotten me sick? Not to mention the inconvenience of waiting. I honestly couldn't believe the audacity. Also, SHAME ON THEM for trying to get away with that--what about someone else that doesn't notice or just acquiesces to not be a bother. Also, two weeks prior when we went, we were about 50% done with our meal and my young daughter suddenly had to use the restroom--I left my keys on the table and smiled at the servers on our way to the bathroom. I come back and our food was thrown out and my keys were at the hostess stand. Really?? They offered to remake the food after the fact but I had to get my daughter to school and we didn't have time. Never again Edit to add my response to the owner's reply: Ron, I'm happy for you and your crab cake business. I love crab cakes which is why I ordered them--there's absolutely no reason for me to not eat them after ordering. To reiterate, within the first bite, I noticed they tasted off, smelled off too--I didn't care to chance food poisoning. In your reply to my review, your accusation that I'm "trying to hurt a small business" is an interesting, if not telling choice of language and one that's quite incendiary. I posted my review on Google & Yelp, the two places that I use for reference. It's curious that you view this as an attempt to essentially dismantle your business. Review systems were put in place so that people can share their experiences and that is exactly what I have done.

I found this delivery burger type place searching Grub Hub…read more I ordered the double patty beast burger - two smashed cheeseburgers, pickles, diced onions, mustard, ketchup and mayo. Along with the beast style unseasoned fries. The smashed style of the burger was very good. The fries were crinkle cut and beast style is basically all the hamburger toppings minus the actual burger A unique concept. Too bad they were not open later for late night munchies. They also offer three additional burger styles. I would for sure give other styles on try too.

And was actually surprised it's located inside the ice arena. My son ordered the Chris style burger with a soft bun (brioche in culinary terms) that came with two "smashed" beef patties (think thin and flat), American cheese, bacon and crinkle fries. And an order of seasoned beast style fries (hello toppings) that were topped with caramelized onions, American cheese, pickles mayo, ketchup and mustard, no drink came with what he ordered. He said it had flavor and liked the softness of the bun. He devoured everything in no time. The reason I gave it a 4 star rating is the price. I spent $20.30 to be exact on 2 items. A bit pricey if you ask me. But hey then again what do I know about beef prices now a days. It's the hype, brand and fad that I basically invested into. I looked up who MrBeast was and wasn't surprised it was another YouTuber just trying to make his millions in this social media era. Smart man. The packaging was catchy as it's colorful and funky. But that's about it folks. They didn't even give out ketchup or mayo packets. I like those much hehe.
