We ordered delivery here to try them for the first time. Better than expected. It was easy ordering online. You can customize your burger with a bunch of free toppings or upgrade options like bacon or another burger.. Lots of fried sides available to go along with your order. They even have desserts, including milkshakes. The burgers were really good. I added jalapeño, chipotle, mayo, and onions to mine. I especially like how they layered the jalapeño at the bottom and other condiments at the top. It holds the extras in place instead of falling out. They even put the bacon in between both burgers which is a great idea. I will definitely be ordering here again or going into the store. read more

Decent place if you crave a fast food burger. I walked in on a whim and while they seemed very busy completing online orders, the guy behind the counter did manage to get my order done faster than expected. Also one employee was in the back in a recliner lawn chair with a jacket covering them up and a hat over there face sleeping. I was very hungry and in the mood for some Wayback food. I order the Steak and Cheesy grinder. I like some heat on my food so I ordered thinly sliced jalapeños on my grinder along with a large order of spicy potato tots and a large coke. I took my first bite of the grinder and man was I deeply disappointed. It was so bland. The only thing that I tasted was the jalapeños, cheese, and bread. And the tater tots were tasteless too. Three stars overall here's how I came to my rating. The atmosphere and location are great for a burger joint. Bright clean and shiny new. Fast and simple menu and ordering process. Friendly staff with lots of enthusiasm. The burger was better than the mega joints. They have a stacking process here and the bun is built for multi patty monster burgers. I got a double Chipotle burger but I had to check to see if it was a double. The burger was loose meat, it sort of cheapened the double patty deal. The meat was lost in the hefty bun. That is not to say it wasn't good, it was tasty and moist to the last bite and I was satisfied. I was expecting being full to the point of barely finishing based on the glamor burger shots all over the place. Sadly just like the big chains what you get ain't what you see. The price point seemed a bit high my meal was just north of $10 bucks. My last point was the kiss of death, the young lady owner partner with her sisters walked out the front door and came back in with a pizza. Don't let patrons see you bring other people's food into your restaurant. Maybe I'm being judgmental and nobody can live on burgers day in and out but it saps my confidence in your place if the owner brings in food from elsewhere. Next time use the back door. Could we finally see some competition with Five Guys for best fast foodish burger in the Danbury area? It's possible. I've always seen Wayback locations around the state, but never had the motivation to go out of my way to stop in, especially when I'm already heading to a different restaurant. The location in Danbury is fairly new, so I figured this was my shot to see if it's worth it. Very clean restaurant. I noticed that right when I walked in with my coworkers. Wayback is a pretty good sized place for the crowd they cater to, sort of along the lines of how large Five Guys is. They serve burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, different sides (like fries, onion rings, house made chips, etc), and milkshakes. I came for a burger since that's all I've heard about, and since the place is called Wayback Burgers. It's the smart thing to do, right? I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger and got the combo as well, which I also chose onion rings and a small fountain drink. $14 is very steep, VERY steep. I'm pretty sure I even said "Whoa" when the cashier said it out loud. Here's to hoping my meal was $14 worth. We all ordered, got our drinks, and sat down at a table. There was only one other family there eating besides us and we still ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes for our food to come out. Also, there were only three people working the line, which is a bit crazy when Wayback can sort of be considered fast food. Besides the wait, the food was pretty solid. The onion rings came out crispy and delicious. My burger was cooked great as well, just a bit messy, but hey, it's a burger, you kind of expect it. We also got complementary house made chips which would've been way more delicious if they weren't doused in salt. Not a bad place, but I don't know if I could happily dish out $14 again for that meal. Aside from the price and wait, the food was solid. read more

The Danbury location definitely needs some improvement. The food is definitely good, less greasy than 5 Guys! However the service is not good... even after being open a few months. Took almost 30 minutes for our food to come out, and it wasn't very warm. Even the milkshakes took over 10 minutes. It's pretty loud inside with the music playing, so the long wait was not even enjoyable. I liked the food, so I recommended a friend to try it and they messed up all 3 of his orders. Horrible experience from beginning to end! Wrong order,lacked instructions and concerns about food allergy concerns for my child. Failed to fulfill full order waited several mins and showed no concern for fulfilling my order on items I payed for and they neglected to give. Served our beverages to the wrong table and left us waiting and when we asked they looked at me like I had three heads instead of promptly fixing there mistake. Ordered $80 worth of food through Grub Hub and it took forever to get delivered. I was ordering food for my employees because we were all working on the 4th of July. When the order finally came we were missing a burger and a milkshake. Of course it was my burger that was missing. We called to try to get my burger and milkshake that was forgotten and the person who answered the phone was very unapologetic and basically didn't care that the person that just paid $80 to their restaurant didn't even get to eat. I've been going to way back burgers for a while now, and im calling it quits. I ordered a meal for a family of 4. Nothing difficult, 2 burgers, a chicken sandwich, and 3 dogs. They didn't give me the chicken sandwich, luckily I caught that before I left. When they finally gave it to me after 10 min of me talking too them and showing them my food, which made it very cold! They made it, and gave it to me. But ended up making another chicken sandwich. They then started arguing about who was going to eat the extra chicken sandwich like a bunch of animals! But I needed to talk to the manager like she was a child! I had to unwrap every burger and lift the bun up too show her what was in the foil. Ridiculous! My hot dogs I ordered were absolutely disgusting. I asked for ketchup, mustard, relish and a little bit of raw onions.
