I was happy to get a chunk of time to visit The Wienery, which seems like one of the better regarded hot dog places in the Stamford area. I ordered a chili and coleslaw dog and a "Chicaaago" dog. The dogs are standard length Sabretts, all beef hot dogs from New Jersey that are popular in New York as well. The hot dogs were split and grilled. The actual Sabrett hot dogs were good, but I prefer some other regional options. I probably wouldn't have split a standard size dog like that, but that's a judgment call. The Chicaaago Dog was more like a second cousin of a Chicago dog, but it captured the flavorful point of the dog. The chili and coleslaw were both good. The Wienery is obviously very popular. People were in and out the entire time I was there. They have burgers, other sandwiches, sides, shakes and Italian Ice as well. They had inside and outside eating. So when my buddies over at CTbites wrote about this new burger I knew I had to try it. The Bordelaise Burger at Bounty is outstanding. Let's start with the meat, full of deep rich flavor and juicy, and then it was grilled to a perfect medium-rare. It was next topped with melted Gruyere cheese, which added a touch of creamy nuttiness. The next ingredient was a handful of arugula. The slight pepperiness of the arugula was a fantastic addition and also contributed a little crunch. The caramelized onions were sweet, adding just a touch of sweet back-notes and then the Malbec butter kicked in with a bold earthiness and a little pungency. This was a burger filled with tons of flavor and textures. CTB 4There will be some detractors. It is priced at $12, and some may think this is expensive for a burger served from a food truck, others may criticize its size, I would guess the burger was 5 ounces pre-cooked, others may want fries included at this price. All fair statements, but for one of the best burgers I have eaten in a while, easily the best burger I have eaten from a food truck, I will gladly return and try some of the other combinations.

We originally ordered the truck for 55 people/burgers, but everyone loved the burgers so much that we ordered nearly 30 burgers more than expected. The best part? The team was prepped and accommodate everyone's extra orders, so no-one went hungry. In addition to the great service the burgers were extremely tasty and everyone in the party, from vegans to meat-lovers was extremely happy with the burgers, fries, and dogs. We went on a Saturday night around 7:45pm and didn't have much of a wait, definitely recommend going a bit later if you can, as I can understand how it would get packed earlier. We started with the jj Sticks/mozzarella sticks as we had seen photos of the epic cheese pull and sadly, it was a total miss. We absolutely love homemade fries (kind of our thing, like if we're going to get fries, we only order homemade ones) but unfortunately this batch was almost cold/room temperature, underwhelming, not hot and crispy as we were hoping to match the quality of the wings and burger, something was off. It was disappointing enough that we contemplated sending back but our server wasn't out on the floor for a while nor could we get the attention of any other staff.
