The story goes Martha Stewart pulled up so she could try a couple of the garnishes, liked what she tasted and invited Owner Mike to participate in a hot dog segment of her show. Today, Chez Lenard has a decades old cart on Main Street and two additional carts for catering or events. I ordered Le Hot Dog Choucroute Alsacienne (which has sauerkraut and a high quality Dijon Mustard) and Le Hot Dog Epicie Garniture Suisse (which boasts a traditional cheese fondue and a horseradish sauce). After a bit of research, these seemed like the most classic Chez Lenard toppings. The toppings were all very tasty. Chez Lenard uses Hebrew National dogs which are ready in a steam bath when you order. Among the best known and loved CTSpots, this is probably my least favorite combo of dog selection and cooking technique. There's no snap and it has one of the softer textures you'll find. I understand that one of the movable carts has a grill. The buns are Martin's potato rolls, which are fine. Chez Lenard enjoys an important history in Ridgefield. They've been a source of jobs for young adults. A lot of people have been going there for a long time because downtown Ridgefield is a cool place to visit. Somebody who lives closer to Ridgefield might give it a bit of a bump because it's been an important pat of their lives. With just 5 people in front of me I waited 45 minutes to order food from their menu, which doesn't exist, unless you go on their Facebook. No menu on site. No prices. Nothing. But the food quality and service is what matters right? Apparently not to this sorry excuse for a food service vehicle. After patiently waiting for a ridiculous 45 minutes I finally get to order. I figured I would try the "TKO burger". Nope. They don't have it. Shocked I ordered a chili dog..... nope no chili. Fried fish sandwich? "Nope we don't have that". Pizza Frittata? Nope. Surf and Turf Burger? Nope. Frustrated I finally asked what was available. "Chicken fingers, hot dogs and burgers(not the tko)". I then begrudgingly ordered one order of chicken fingers, two dogs and two fries. "Great give us about 45 mins or so"....... Ummm wtf?! Then I saw the chef of this "fresh food" truck take frozen fries and frozen chicken tenders and put them in a fryer that looked like it hasn't been cleaned since the last time the Knicks won a championship. He then used those same hands and handled raw meat and wiped his mouth. I left in utter disgust. I then left and got McDonalds for my kids. Came back 30 minutes later, and the guy two people behind in line was just ordering while at least a dozen that were in front of me were still waiting for their "fresh food". Lol. I guess the prior reviews were done by friends and family, Helen Keller, or dummy accounts. Save yourself the time, money, energy and health risks. This ringside truck has it as together as Ali..... in the later years. Never again. Run. Don't bother. Pure trash.

I choose the chicken every time and I never regret. It's covered in cheese , potato sticks, & what Colombians call "salsa rosada". In the parking lot cars park and in a tailgate form eat their delicious food truck picks. Family friendly. They place music so people tend to gather. My daughter enjoys the pieces of hotdog with French fries "salchipapa". I will continue to visit. I wish this family based hidden gem lots of years of serving happy families in its true Colombian style.
